Thinking about Jan 2021....thoughts?

I'm thinking about changing trip of Dec 2020 to Jan 2021 beginning around the 6th for 9 days. What are your thoughts.....anyone been then that knows what crowds look like. Any help appreciated. Thank you!

My first impressions are this: Lower crowds in January and the Holiday Decorations will (at least have been in the past) still up. I don't know which weekend is the marathon weekend, so that will boost crowds around that date. I love being in the parks in January. Have a great trip!

Thank you for the info!!! We don't care (as much) on the decorations since we have been in Dec before. Trying to work around my son's schedule (he's in grad school). it's looking like he will have more time off in Jan after main holiday rush than in Dec (before Christmas crowds). Are park hours reduced any? Thank you for any input!

Marathon weekend should be the 6th through the 10th.

In terms of park hours, I believe that the short answer is 'yes' they typically close earlier. However, I have never felt like it was so early that it impacted our experience. My daughter's grad schedule is exactly why we started going in January. Yep, it seems to work much better.
