Can anyone help with a very general question...
I've been reading on the other DVC club boards about the rumours of a DVC being built at the Contempory Resort. Now, if this is true, how would I go about buying into this? How much is it likely to cost - if we only wanted to go every other year perhaps.....Thanks for your helkp!

Ah now here are questions where a crystal ball would be handy

As you've seen on the US boards, there's been a lot of speculation since the architect's plans for DVC at the Contemporary were 'discovered' but Disney is not giving out any information yet.

DVC say that sales of Saratoga Springs are going very fast (but there are a few members who remain sceptical about this) and whilst historically Disney have sold the 'new' resort before the current one was sold out, I'm sure they will not do anything that will slow down the sales of SSR. So, I think it really does depend on SSR being almost sold out - and who knows?

Looks like it will be a real 'big hitter' though when it does go on sale and will be priced accordingly. Over $100 per point probably. Be sure that as soon as there is an announcement, it will appear on the US boards and then it will just be a matter of contacting DVC and deciding whether you need Disney's finance etc.

If you look at the points chart for the Beach Club Villas and work out your requirements, eg studio, 1 bedroom, peak times, weekends etc, it should give you some idea of the points needed (although CRV just might have a higher point requirement) - at this moment there is a 150 point minimum from Disney and you'd probably find you could make this work for every other year.

I wonder if they will take a pre-registration list. Again, be sure it will be on the boards if they do! Good luck with it

on the rumor boards there is talk about a prees launch,think sept could be anything might be a new dvc resort who knoes.

I think SSR is presently $105 per point, so Contemp will not be cheaper. Actual price per point is not likely to be much more - it will be the number of points per night per apartment you need which will be high. Min purchase requirement is likely to remain at 150 points, so you just need to work out what size apartment you want, and what season you are likely to go in, and then use Beach Club Villas as a guide until the plans are actually announced.
