DH and I just returned from the World and took the DVC tour while we were there. I was interested in DVC first and after the tour DH is on board. As much as we'd like to buy right away, we probably won't be able to buy until 3-6 months from now. We were torn between BLT and AKV. The rooms at AKV appeal to us more, but the lower MF and the monorail at BLT were tempting. Since we're not going to be able to take advantage of the lower point price at BLT, we're leaning toward AKV, but I'm wondering about the MF, because they are higher than some of the others and I would imagine the cost of maintaining the grounds/animals to be expensive. Any advice? :goodvibes

You can purchase AKL resale now for about $84 per point, while BLT is still holding its value on the resale market for about what Disney is selling it for, so keep that in mind. And you can own at BLT and still use your points at AKL so it is not like you can't stay their if you buy BLT.

We thought about that, just weren't sure how long it would be before BLT was sold out and if they would raise their prices again.

These are always tough to answer! I own at BCV and AKV so I think I have the best of both worlds! Ha We just returned from our first Kidani village stay and really enjoyed it. Now understand it's usually just the two of us that go so riding the bus is OK with us - but keep in mind everything is a bus ride from AKV. It stops at Kidani and then goes to Jambo - so they were usually crowded. BLT, in my opinion, would be a wonderful location - right at the monorail and you can walk to MK! I certainly could be wrong but I think if you owned at either one of these two you'd have a pretty good chanve of getting into the other at the 7 month window depending on the time of year.

Saving a few bucks on dues or getting a few extra years on your contract doesn't make sense if you're not happy staying at your home resort.
