Thinking about BC but worried about food choices

We are considering the BC for our October trip but are concerned about the lack of "quick" places to grab something to eat. We will be in WDW for 11 days and like the idea of food courts for quick meals. In the past we have stayed at POFQ POR WL & CB We like the food court idea (hot and cold items that are "quick") Are we going to have a problem with this at the BC? I looked at the menu for Hurrican Hanna's Grill on Deb's site and this looks like what we like to do for a few lunches and maybe a dinner or two. What about breakfast? Any suggestions??
Thanks

I wouldn't worry about quick meals at BC. Beaches and Cream has very fast and friendly service, and the food is great if you love burgers, hot dogs, and sundaes. As for breakfast they have a coffee cart for continental breakfast items. The Cape May restaurant has a very nice buffet character breakfast too. And if those don't appeal to you, you're within a short walk to BW and the s/d resorts. There is a myriad of dining options in this area. Hope this helps!:p

There is also the Yacht Club Galley for breakfast and lunch which has good food at reasonable prices. There are plenty of places to eat among all the Epcot resorts and all the resorts are a short and very enjoyable walk from each other or if you are prefer not to walk you can always get the boat from BC/YC to BW, S&D.

I agree with the above posters there are some great dining options around BC, but it is not the same as having a food court in your resort you can go to for a quick meal. I loved staying at the BC but my 8 year old DD loves a quick hot breakfast and Beaches and Cream just could not fit the bill for breakfast. The food courts at the monorail hotels give her alot better breakfast options. Cape May has a wonderful breakfast buffet but it was more than I could afford to do everyday. Until my DD grows up we will continue to stay at the monorail resorts. Have a magical vacation whereever you decide to stay. :D

I agree with AgaintoDisney. We found the "quick food" selection very poor at the BC. Yes the BW is close (as is the S&D) but sometimes you just want to grab something without a long walk (we do enough walking in the parks). Beaches &Cream is great but so small & we found it an absolute zoo early in the morning & at night after the parks closed...we often gave up. I think it's much too small to serve the needs of the BC/YC & BCVs. Cape May is great but expensive to do every day & time consuming if you're trying to get to the parks early. I think the resort needs a small food court of some type. Until then, we'll stay at a moderate or a monorail resort.

Deluxe hotels (other than Disney) normally feature more expensive restaurants as opposed to food court type of places. The 3 hotels at Universal are good examples. Even the "food courts" at the monorail hotels are more of snack bars than full food courts.

I agree, although there are lower cost meal options, people who are looking for inexpensive, quick meals are better served with a moderate. I think AKL offers a little more options for lower priced meals.

Hurricanes Hanna's had limited hours when I was there and Beaches and Cream at times was overflowing so I found quick bites to be problematic especially at supper time. On the other hand remember the proximity to Boardwalk and there are some options there like the pizza by the slice at the Spoodles window and even fish and chips at Uk in Epcot which is just a 3 or 4 minute walk.. we had sandwich fixings in our room which we opted for several times just so we didn't have to go get something..

When my family stayed at BC, we packed the mini cereal bowls pop tarts. Every morning we would go to Beaches and Cream to get milk and juice and sit outside to eat our breakfast before heading to the park. Beaches and Cream can get pretty hairy in the mornings, but if all you need is juice and milk, then you can get out of there pretty quick. That is my trick for not having a food court at BC.

If it is very important to you to be able to go somewhere in your own resort and buy a quick hot breakfast without having to sit down and be waited on, don't stay at the Beach and Yacht or even the Boardwalk.

I think the only option anywhere in the area may be Tubbi's at the Dolphin, unless the Boardwalk Bakery has hot items.

Of the deluxes, all the monorail resorts have quick-service snack bar type places. WL and AKL also have quick-service (AKL's is larger than WL's). I do not know if the quick place at OKW serves breakfast. I have no idea about Fort Wilderness or Shades of Green.

On the other hand, if you are at CS or CBR or POR, your walk to the food court from your room might be just as long as strolling over to the Dolphin from the Beach Club.

If there is no food court at BC does that mean that there are no refillable mugs for coffee? Or is this available at beaches and cream?

Thanks-
Donna

They sell the mugs at Hurricane Hanna's which is the food place at SAB.

We stayed at the YC too, and I have to admit, the "fast food" type dining options were kind of dissapointing to us as well. I like to grab something and go, and you just can't do that there. We ate at Beaches n Cream a few times, but you get sick of it after a while and the wait is long. That's why I'm kind of excited about the ASMo, since they have the food court and we can just eat quick and run.

I have to agree with the posters who really missed the "quick" food options. I recently stayed at the BC for 9 days and while I loved the hotel overall, I was not happy with the very limited "quick" food options.

When I was there B&C did not open until 11AM and Hurricane Hanna's closed around 6-7PM during the weeknights.

They did have some "continental breakfast" type offerings available near the lobby but the line for them was very long.

I hope you have fun planning your trip (sometimes I think that is my favorite part :)!)
