Think that Turkey leg is healthy?

I always operate under the assumption that anytime I eat food prepared by a restaraunt, etc. it's likely not healthy. Even salads. I might be wrong in a few cases, but I think it's an accurate generalization.

Not that it stops me, of course. ;)

I like them, but I wouldn't make a steady diet of turkey legs. It's fast food.

We split one leg two or three ways so it's not all that bad. We also sit down and eat it, although DH says it's "good traveling food." lol

its so greasy how could anyone think its healthy

personally other then to club someone over the head
i see no need to buy a turkey leg

Who on Earth thought the turkey leg at Disney was healthy to begin with? :rotfl:

I have never had any desire to eat one of those at WDW. I think they look awful and smell worse.

However, come Thanksgiving the person who takes my drumstick dies!!! We eat dinner early and that is my evening snack.

And....they're really gross!!

Not to mention how gross it is to see them lying ALL OVER THE PARK!!!! :sad2: I couldn't get over how many times I saw them thrown on the ground when we were there in May. I actually saw 2 on the ground in line for Splash. Seriously. Is it so difficult to find a trash can?! (in the Magic Kingdom no less?!)

They smell great but look terrible IMO.

I've always thought the same thing plus i think they taste terrible, as well. I've never understood the appeal.

The sodium explains something that's always been a mystery to me--how in the world does turkey end up tasting like ham? :rotfl:

I had one of those turkey legs at WDW once, only because I saw so many other people walking around eating them, I was really curious if they tasted good or not.

It was good, but I would never think it was healthy, being dark meat and all. But I had to sit down to eat mine....guess I'm not coordinated enough to walk and eat at the same time.

They are yummy. I want one right now.

Yes, they do taste like ham. I attribute this to their being smoked prior to cooking ( a guess on my part ).

Its from being smoked. We have a place close by that smokes meat for their resteraunt and they will smoke turkeys for the holidays. The whole thing will taste a bit like ham.

:worship::worship::worship::worship::worship:

I skipped my lunch today, could go for one right now... ;)

Anyway, I've seen worse, like on THIS LIST:

.

never tried one, but they look pretty gross to mee!
im not surprised by how many cals at all!

I had my first one back in June. A friend of Kari's came into the park and I spent the day showing them around. They decided to get one before the parade and it got split four ways, 3 adults and 1 child. It was good, but I could never justify the cost of it. And kari's given me first hand experience on how their made. Totally gross.

Now the soft preztels on the other hand with lots of yummy warm cheese from pecos... that's another story.

Oh man... but they're so dang good. Dark meat this the best... I love dem thighs. Good thing I don't give a rat's rear about what I eat at Disney because that's a lot of crap in that leg.

I only wish they had less sodium.

I'm not a big "meat on the bone" kind of girl....but I had no idea that there was THAT much fat!!! :scared1: Now I'll never get one!!

My hubby and son split these for a quick lunch. Even with the calories/fat I prefer them over french fries and ice cream. At least I can get some protein in them so they stay full longer. I swell up like a blowfish if I even look at a turkey leg.
