Think I am going to DLP

My father has a business trip to Belgium in May and wants me to join him.(all expenses paid). He has a few tours to do one day so I would love to check out DLP. He also wants to go to Paris but I haven't convinced him of Disney yet . Either way I will make it there.

Anyone been- any suggestions, tips, anything.

Paris in May...what could be more heavenly then that. I haven't been in awhile but you will LOVE it. Sorry I can't give you any hints on Disney Paris but can about Paris. I would recommend you buy a pass for the subway. It is a very reasonable/convenient way to see Paris. Also, if you have time take a river cruise down the Seine River. It is an inexpensive way to see some sights. We took lunch with us and ate onboard (french stick, cheese etc). Also the Eiffel tower is a must. We went up just before the sun went down so we were able to see the view in the day and the night.

I've also been to Belgium and it has a lot of beautiful old architecture to see but honestly I fell in love with Paris.

I don't shop (yes I went to Disney and did not buy ONE souvie) but if you are interested there is a ton of shopping options in the Paris area. The stores looked very expensive though.

Where in Belgium? Brussels? We spent a week in Leuven for a festival last year, (home of Stella Artois). Brussels is truly incredible - the town square is astounding.

But Paris... Ohhhhh... I was in Paris for a week, and I didn't even think about Disney!

Not sure exactly where in Belgium. My dad has not recieved his itinerary yet. He wants to take the train to Paris one day for sightseeing. He has other work days and I just found out that there is a direct train from Brussels to Disneyland Paris

Paris is wonderful, soooo much to see as in history and culture. Just walking around Pairs is an adventure. I would wait to buy DL tickets, you may find that you have no interest to go once your there.

I would skip it personally, although I haven't been in almost 10 years. I just found if you are in love with Disneyworld, DLP will be a let down. It's a lot smaller, and the vibe was just all wrong. I found the CM's to be very "snooty" and not at all like the friendly, magical CM's in florida. Even the parade was dull in comparison. I was on a 7 country tour by myself (my travel buddy got appendicitis before the trip) and in hindsight, I would have spent more time in Paris or gone on the tour to Versailles instead of DLP.

I can't remember the name of this area in Paris but it is amazing. (la trouve maybe, artisians something or other). I wish I could remember the name, too much french wine that day I guess.
This is a couple block area that is set up everyday with artists painting and selling their work. We spent a half day here enjoying the art and speaking with the artists. It was a huge highlight of the trip. There are several small cafes bordering the area where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere. There is also a large cathedral in the vicinity that was quite something to see .

Definately go to Versailles. It will take you the entire day but you will never forget it. Positively breathtaking.

I think you're talking about Montmartre - and the Sacre Coeur Cathedral...

Truly breathtaking - and not just because of the hike up the hill!
