We hold silver coins (the real old stuff) in our hands at the stroke of midnight. It is supposed to bring financial success for the coming year. We also burn a bayberry candle on New Year's eve for good luck.

I really do not have any traditions but may parents always had shrimp scampi and crusty italian bread on NYE.

Now that we moved to Western PA, pork roast, kielbasa and sauerkraut are big so I will make that on NY day.

I forgot, play Kenny G while drinking my Sparkling apple cider mixed with a little wine

This made me laugh! Years ago, I was dating a man in CA (he was from the Los Angeles area, I am from NJ). I went to see him the week between Christmas and NYE...well, we did the whole tourist thing...and went to Tijuana on New Years Eve day and he surprised me with Kenny G concert tickets that night...

Well...I was so exhausted from sightseeing, the music (and champagne) put me to sleep...I woke up and there was Kenny blowing away right in front of me!!! Talk about embarassing! I guess that was not the highlight of his career!
