Things you wish you'd never seen at Disney

One night after Wishes, I had a very large woman with very large breasts in a tube top attempt to squeeze on the bus to one of the All Stars. Coming up the stairs, the tube top slipped down and she did nothing about it. I had to remind her that this was a family place.

That was some scary stuff right there.

Then there was the night that I was making the 02:15 run from PI to AKL with 2 couples (they were drunk and the only ones on the bus). Somewhere around POP on Victory Way I heard a not so normal noise for a bus ride and in the light from the streetlamps saw the dress of one girl up and the other girl under it.

Again, I got on the mic reminding them that Disney was a family place and the dress dropped quickly and the other girl spun around.

I have seen plenty of Signal V's, adult and child tantrums, grumpy people, pushy people, entitled people and those who the rules clearly didn't apply to them.

Cranbiz I love your signature! I imagine as a bus driver you see a lot of crazy stuff. I've heard some sad sad stories from bus drivers over the years including some pretty awful acts.

Trust me plenty of people have a problem with breastfeeding, heck even in this thread someone said "just pump and plan ahead" ummm...how is that not having a problem with breastfeeding? That is the crap breastfeeding women deal with day in and day out. People tell them to cover and I counter if babies need to eat discretely by having their heads covered then so does everyone else. The reason I continue to speak out against people whining about public breastfeeding and using words like discreet and covered is because it perpetuates ignorance and is shaming. And even if women do whip it out, guess what, it's legal. If you don't want to see a woman feeding a baby don't watch a woman feed her baby. When I see something that offends my eyes I turn the other way, it's called personal responsibility. And getting butt hurt over a woman using her boobs (even if they don't cover up) as they were designed to is so fricken immature.

For the record, it would take a LOT more than an exposed breast (feeding or otherwise) to offend me.

great! Glad to hear that. Mostly it's a public service message because I hear so much whining about women using their breasts to feed their children, it's amazing to me in this day and age how many people think it is something that needs to be done in secret where no one can see them. And if you aren't one of those people then take no notice of my comments. Also I notice the people that shout the loudest about breastfeeding in public being so offensive are the same ones that frequent places where boobs are used to sell products (i.e. Hooters).

People who are offended by breastfeeding are just looking to be offended by something which seems to be the new national pastime. We, as a culture, have a weird aversion to nudity even when it isn't sexual at all.

Really the only time I think it is obnoxious is when someone makes a spectacle out of themselves in an obvious ploy to get attention and politicize the issue but that is rare and that kind of garbage annoys me no matter what the cause.

The Main Street Bakery is now flat out a Starbucks. It is as plain sight as plain sight gets. Plus there is one in all 4 parks now. Epcot is by Fountain View, DHS is at the Trolley Car Cafe. Again they don't call it a Starbucks but that's exactly what it is. The Animal Kingdom one is in the Africa section and called Creature Comforts.
Since I've only been once, walking past Main Street Bakery, unless you go inside, you can't tell it's a Starbucks, so no, it's not plain sight. Plain sight is seeing the Starbucks sign in your face for the entire world to see.

Also, I was only addressing those two who made it seem like Disney had no Starbucks and that they shouldn't come to the parks, and no one was telling them that there were in fact Starbucks around the parks. I was only aware of two, so, sorry if I didn't know.

I see you are new here. Welcome! I was just adding information to what you said so that if someone else comes along they will see that there are in fact more and that they don't just serve Starbucks coffee but are instead a full service Starbucks.

Adding to that most people are saying things they wish they had never seen were Starbucks in general as they are relatively new. Most people wish that the original bakeries and coffee shops stayed as is with out any big corporation coming in.

I'm coming late into this thread, but this happened on my last Disney visit. My husband and I were at one of the parks when a freak thunderstorm came in. It was really warm that day so alot of people were wearing sandals and flip flops.

Since it was raining hard enough park attractions were being closed we decided to go back to our room.

A woman walking about twenty feet in front of us wearing flip flops suddenly slipped and fell backwards, cracking the back of the skull open on the pavement. Cast members quickly rushed to the scene to block off people from looking and to call paramedics.

This wasn't the only slip and fall accident we saw that day on our way out of the park and to our room. Another woman we saw slip and fall on her backpack, and while she didn't bust her head open, she did injure her spine on whatever was in her backpack.

It was awful, all these people wearing flip flops, slipping and sliding everywhere. My husband and I vowed to never wear flip flops in any theme park ever again.

I agree. Who is doing that here? So far, every mother who breast feeds has said she has done it discreetly, so what is the problem? They're not the ones being discussed.

Who in the group of BFing mothers is supposed to plan ahead and pump for a bottle? This statement as well as the one calling women who do not cover up "classless" is lumping BFing mothers together.

There are many ways to be discreet. Choosing the back row of Philharmagic as opposed to standing along the parade route, for example. Really, it's just about appearing to make some sort of an effort at discretion, not full on cover up that's required.

Yeah, I used to walk around stores with my baby BFing and then falling asleep. Can't tell you how many times I was approached by women (usually Grandmothers) who came over to touch my baby's head and, only when they got close up, realize she was attached. They would just smile and give me a quiet compliment. So, no need to choose the back row or use a blanket, if the mother is comfortable. :)

ETA-And now I will be done for the sake of the thread. :)

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS SANE where is an admin to stop the breastfeeding posts?!?!

And to those of you who continue to debate this, when was the last time someone changed your mind due to an online debate? Stop wasting your time and everyone else's time. I'm sure most people reading this thread, like me, are just here for some funny WDW stories.

The back row comment was obviously directed toward someone who needs to "whip it all the way out". You clearly found one of the many other ways to be discreet ;)

How could you possibly know it's either one of those diseases? There are many, many skin ailments that look like chicken pox or measles but aren't. If an infant had either chicken pox or measles, I highly doubt they'd be healthy enough to even go to Disney World. Those are life-threatening diseases for infants.

First trip to Disney when I was 4 and my brother started to come out it Chicken Pox on the plane home (after a 2 weeks trip -not sure what the incubation period is) and I came out a few days later so it can happen but I also agree that unless you know for sure you might as well carry on as normal

But why would I have to lose my spot in the parade so I can feed my child?. There is no need for discretion to breastfeed. Discretion means different things to different people some people so it's a terrible rule to enforce. The original person that complained was about once person Bfing in IASW IMO that's pretty discreet and believe me you would have a far more enjoyable ride if a mom is breastfeeding rather than the kid crying his head off because he is hungry.

We were eating lunch at Lottawatta Lodge at BB and there was a Mom at the table next to us popping the back pimples on her teenage son. Yes..yes I did say something and she stopped, but gave me the stink eye.

Why in the world is this interesting thread have to be turned into a DIS board sound off debate about public breastfeeding????

It would be nice to get back on topic and have a little fun, otherwise I hope the moderators will shut this thing down.

Oh, I definitely forgot about that little part, huh? Thanks for the welcome and I appreciate the explanation. It hasn't been a fun day at work. I'm on edge! Apologies if I seemed tense. :guilty:

Oh I totally agree, nothing beats a good hand washing. I really believe people would cut down on colds and sickness if they just washed with soap and water after using the bathroom and before eating.

I have just heard (here on the boards no less) that many have an aversion to soap and are allergic to it so they prefer to use sanitizer instead so when you see people not washing, this could be a reason. Again, I have only heard that on these boards!

I personally always wash my hands BEFORE I pee (can I say that? maybe urinate). I like to keep my undercarriage clean, and I haven't peed on my hands since the 70's (when I was a toddler). So, don't judge when I walk out afterward with clean hands AND clean down below. :)

Oh thought of another thing!

Rats and other nasty critters. They hide pretty well during the day and don't bother people in general but since there aren't walls or solid fences the parks are full of natural wild life. One night I was working the park clear crew at Epcot and my side buddy was clearing the United Kingdom. Next thing I hear is him scream high pitched and a then see a rat about the size of chihuahua run off. He said the darn then ran right over his feet! I was always more cautious at night after that experience. We told the managers and they were like what do you expect you are outside and all the trash was just put out in the bins back there.
