Things you wish you'd never seen at Disney

Thanks for the insight @Angel Ariel - the babies I saw on this trip were only weeks old. I don't have kids and that's probably a good thing I guess because I have a feeling I'd be an overly paranoid parent! :lmao:

I think all parents feel a bit paranoid at times..especially first time parents :) We were originally supposed to go to WDW when DD was only 3 months old, but based on a lot of things we decided to wait and book until she was born and see how things were going. When we found out she wasn't latching and feeding her was an issue, we put off the trip until that 8 month old trip. I'm glad we didn't try going at 3 months. We had so many things we were working through with her then, it would have been miserable. But by 8 months everything was sorted and I was very much ready to get out of the house and have some fun..paranoia and all ;)

This happened to me one time when I was unloading a boat on the Jungle Cruise. A little kid put his hand right down his pants for a couple seconds, then pulled it out and sniffed it. typically we have our hands out to help guests, but I snatched mine back so I wouldn't have to touch him! Terrible!!

I don't blame you a bit. That is so gross!!

And to the no bra people...for me I dont want to see ANY private parts, I dont want you wearing a shirt too tight so I can see stuff, just like I dont want to see a man wearing things too tight that I can see his privates or the girls with the butt cheeks. If you can not wear a bra and no one would be the wiser, than all the more power to you then dont wear one. But if we are seeing jiggling and nipples please reconsider your fashion choice

What? jiggling lol so seeing a boob jiggle is the same as seeing someone private parts. Ok then. I have to say. When I'm out and about I have no idea who is wearing a bra and who isn't. What a weird way to spend tie looking for jiggling in peoples breasts.

What?? :scared1: Okay, so maybe my paranoia would be valid.

While I did see those cases as a CM, I do also realize there are some skin conditions that may look like measles are chicken pox to someone not in the know. My nephew has something (can't remember the name) and when I first saw him after it developed I was sure he had chicken pox. Unfortunately it is a skin issue that hopefully he will grow out of but we were told it would get worse before it gets better.

At AK last Thursday, saw an infant with a full blown case of either measles or chicken pox on the safari ride.

How could you possibly know it's either one of those diseases? There are many, many skin ailments that look like chicken pox or measles but aren't. If an infant had either chicken pox or measles, I highly doubt they'd be healthy enough to even go to Disney World. Those are life-threatening diseases for infants.

Wow! I had no idea people had such a problem with Breasts. I always wear a bra because mine are big and hurts not to but I would not care if someone chose not to. Are all these people that care about wether women have a bra on or not UNDER their shirt, care if men go topless?
As for breast feeding. Unless you can eat the exact same way you are saying babies should for a week (like in the bathroom or under a blanket ) why complain.
Gross thing I seen was a man doing a farmers blow.

We saw two couples almost get into a fist fight. Couple #1 very clearly was cheating the system--they walked into the FP line while the CM was distracted and didn't scan their bands. Couple #2 flipped out and confronted Couple #1, who pretended not to understand what was being said. Couple #1 approaches the second set of turnstiles, scan their bands and it shockingly turns blue. They continue to keep walking, and the CM tries to call them back but again, they pretend not to hear. Couple #2 stages a protest, arguing with the CM and grabbing the man from Couple #1 to prevent them from riding.

Meanwhile, Mom and I are stuck behind all this, just watching in shock. Eventually the CMs do make Couple #1 exit the line and re-enter standby. Couple #2 proceed to spend the entire ride complaining about the audacity of Couple #1. Which we heard the whole ride, because we were in the same boat....because it was Living With the Land :sad2: Not even a major ride

I've had two events that I just couldn't believe were happening. First, I was in Epcot when I nearly collided with a parent who stopped to let her small child pee into a plastic freezer bag. Upon completing, the parent tried throwing the bag into one of the shrubs. I quickly let a CM know. That is just so unsanitary. There are literally bathrooms everywhere! Second event, we were a few cars from boarding Rock N' Roller Coaster when we hear a commotion. I look up and see a Brazilian Tour Group being hoarded by CM's. Apparently 2 of the girls decided they were going to sit ON the front of the coaster to take a picture. Not in the seats, on the nose of the ride. Things were shut down for a few minutes while security was called. They all feigned ignorance, and the CM's were visibly angry. Apparently a portion of the group tried to block the CM's so the girls could quickly climb onto the ride.

The cast members who cornered a cowering mother cradling her infant from the downpour that unleashed Sun night as we were exiting Haunted Mansion. I get that the CMs need to keep people moving out and on, even in the rain. They were quite militant and yelling about how they had to keep the ride up and running. It was absolutely pouring, the mother was practically in tears, shielding her baby and huddled against the wall behind a row of scooters and not impeding everyone else being yelled out into the downpour. But there were multiple CMs around the mother just yelling at her over and over while she cowered. Even my 11 year old said "wow Dthey sure are making Disney not fun anymore!"

The mother in the middle of hub waiting for Hocus Pocus who started yelling at her tween son, then another guest about some perceived slight, then the son trying to apologize to the other guest then the mother turning back onto the son and her daughter and finally dragging them out yelling with the kids in tears and the boy crying "what did I do???" So much for cute matching family shirts...
And lastly the very human looking pile of feces we saw next to the sidewalk between the Polynesian and Shades of Green...

I love that kids are exposed to as many breastfeeding women as possible.

And you have every right to feel that way. Others have the right to feel differently.

Most women nurse so discretely that other people wouldn't even notice it.

You were discreet. We're talking about those who aren't.

Again, I chose to be discreet in public because it was best for us

Because adults don't eat off a woman's breast (I'm sure there are exceptions). See, here is the thing...in this country at least, breasts have been hypersexualized for decades now. For centuries, women breastfed privately or in the company of other women. I understand the need to breastfeed but you do not have the right to expose others to public nudity while doing it. It can be done discreetly. No one is saying you shouldn't breast feed in public, I'm all for it. I just don't need to see your 'goods' while you're doing it.

For me personally, in my own opinion, I just find it classless when women refuse to be discreet and cover up. That is a personal opinion and doesn't make it fact. To me, such an act is a private moment between mother and baby, just as was the act of conceiving the baby. But it seems like everyone here knows how to feed discreetly anyway so I really don't understand the issue in that regard. If you're being discreet, no one cares, honestly. I would love to post pics of the types of women Im talking about but I dare say I'd get banned for it. That alone says something.

Regarding the CDC's stand on it. We all know how well the CDC works after the ebola debacle. Milk banks handle breastmilk in the same manners and precautions as blood banks. There is a reason for this. I don't need the government telling me that excretions from another human body are safe for me. I can make that decision on my own. And the poster who mentioned all the other bodily fluids and germs on tables is 100% right. Thats why we don't need more.

I can definitely see how they were too aggressive! I've witnessed CMs that I worked with behave very rudely to guests in situations like that and it always made me mad. However, we did have to keep things moving as fast as possible at my attraction, or it became a safety hazard. There was only one exit and if enough boatloads of people unloaded and blocked the exit, there would be no place to safely get off the boat!

once saw a family making tuna sandwiches in MK across from the Dole Whip stand (where it was before it moved). They were opening the tuna cans and draining them in the drinking fountain and didn't even rinse it down. In 90+ heat I'm sure that was a LOVELY experience for the next poor unsuspecting kid who went there for a drink and got the stench of 90 degree festering tuna water instead.
This made me laugh really hard. and want to throw up

:rotfl2: Thanks, I needed a good laugh today! Do you also believe that you can catch AIDS from a toilet seat? What is this, 1985?

Yeah, I really hate it when I see those lactating women running around squirting their milk all over the theme parks. Happens all the time.

Sorry, can't figure out how to remove the quote formatting.

And btw, here's the Florida law on breastfeeding.

383.015 Breastfeeding.—The breastfeeding of a baby is an important and basic act of nurture which must be encouraged in the interests of maternal and child health and family values, and in furtherance of this goal:
(1) A mother may breastfeed her baby in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be, irrespective of whether the nipple of the mother’s breast is uncovered during or incidental to the breastfeeding.

Actually breastfeeding women do have a right to expose themselves to feed baby. If someone sees too bad.

Some women simply cannot nurse discretely because of their anatomy. I was lucky because my breast are small and my kids could nurse anywhere anyhow I Usually fed them in a carrier while walking around disney world. But for some women that's just not possible. They need to maneuver her breast and her infant in a way that cannot be done discretely. So what the kid needs to eat. We need to make it possible for any woman who wants to breastfeed to be able to do so. Breast are not offensive they are just breasts. If you or your husband is a pervert that gets aroused by seeing a woman feeding her child that it's on you not on the mom feeding her baby.

Actually, according to florida law, apparently they do have exactly that right.
