My daughter will be doing the CRP beginning in April, she has done two previous ICPs and she is studying up on Disney like mad. I often see posts from frustrated DISers wishing cast members had their facts straight. What are some things my daughter should definitely know before beginning her magical year?

Disney means and ways of transportation. So many guest do not understand how to get around and what happens in severe weather.

For me, the most important quality to have as a cm is being friendly and sociable. It really makes our vacation so special, when we meet cm's who have these qualities.

There will always be the possibility that a CM does not have all the facts or answers; but, I feel it is more important how the CM handles the questions rather than the facts they may or may not know. If they do not know the answer, offering to find out for you (If it is a situation where it is necessary to have the answer) is perfectly fine.

I just really appreciate those CM's who go out of there way to make you feel welcome. It is the reason we choose to go to DW for a vacation.

Good Luck to your daughter! My girlfriend did an internship there a while back and she said they work you very hard but, the experience itself is amazing. She also loved meeting her fellow co workers that are from all over the world.

I wish they knew what time the three o'clock parade was. They always look at me quizzically when I ask them that. :rotfl:

Have a thorough knowledge of the parks, or the resort, wherever she ends up being focused. Time is of the essence at Disney.

Bocaj1431 is accurate in the character that works best for a CM, but my guess is you instilled that in her already. Congratulations on her opportunity and your having raised someone who can bring us some magic! So happy for you all!

This!! :worship:

ICP = International College Program
CRP = Cultural Representative Program

Thank you for the wonderful responses. She loves creating magical moments so these ideas should help.

This. This. 1,000,000 times this!!! Nothing annoys me more than someone obviously lying to me just to get me away from them/off the phone/off chat when it would take a minute to ask someone because they don't want to look like they don't know what they're doing. *NOBODY* is perfect, and *NOBODY* knows *EVERYTHING* (I'm pretty sure I could come up with a question to stump every CM I saw in the park, if I tried hard enough). Knowing every answer is nowhere near as important as knowing how to *FIND* every answer. :)
