There are some things you can't pay me to do but I have done out of love!

Here's my list.

- Took my nephew to a Monster Truck Rally
- Saw a play my friend was in. It was the Nativity story and it was in mime (I wish we had a mime smilie). Most of the actors were homeless.
- Hosted an "adult novelty" party for my sister
- Room Mom three years in a row
- Any visit to Chuck E Cheese

What about you?

I'm stayin' at AKL in June instead of BCV. :headache:

OK a mimed Nativity Story certainly has me scratching my head!:scratchin

Only love keeps me in the house when my family has the stomach bug. They all had it last week and I wanted so much to just run away instead of take care of them.

I have gone to see KISS not once, but three times. And I REALLY hate KISS.

However, I do draw the line at Iron Maiden. ;)

Oh, my... my list is ridiculously looooooong.... :lmao:

Mainly because I have a limited capacity for most things that a LOT of people enjoy, including ANYTHING that has to do with sports:scared:

My Dad has no sons so he decided to make ME his one and only son...:rotfl: I was the youngest so he decided I was his last chance.

I went to every Mets home game you could imagine... HATED THEM. My dear sweet Daddy never knew, I never let him know. :cloud9:

There isn't enough room on this board to name the things I had to do for my child... especially "It's a Small World" :scared:

My ex bf was a WRESTING fan... ugh...:headache: Yes, I went with him to those and to numerous NKOTB concerts ... WHERE is that violently vomitting smiley???!!!

Notice I say EX bf.:rolleyes1

My sister and I took 3 of our nieces who were teens at the time to Insync concerts, twice!

For 11 years I sat through my daughters entire dance recitals, 3-4 hours long for 4 performances!

Both my mom and mother in law lived with us (seperate times) while they were ill. I helped them wash, dress and use the bathroom in addition to making their food and feeding them. I also took mom to her chemotherapy appointments.

Was a PTA member for their grammar school. I was in charge of box tops, collecting counting and mailing them. I was so happy when they hit middle school.

hmm, let's see...

Girl Scout leader for 8 years running.

Countless field trips and hours volunteering in the schools.

Sat through Blue's Clue's Live, Winnie the Pooh Live, Scooby Doo Live and Dora the Explorer Live, breakfast with Dora, as well as Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brothers, and Demi Lovato concerts.

Pretending I don't know my 13yo when we're at the mall. :rotfl:

Going to church teas with my MIL.

Doing the dishes for dh when it's his night.

Sat through an Easter drama 4 times because my dd was in it.
Kept my mouth shut instead of ripping my dh head off last night.
Ate pizza instead of meatloaf this weekend because my family wanted it.

What's wrong with AKL? Haven't been yet, but was thinking about it on my next trip. Or were you just joking?

Absolutely nothing wrong with it, my family loves it. I would assume the OP just had their heart set on one resort and out of love or loss of a vote, they are not staying at their choice.

Out of Love, I have:

Sat through the worst "talent shows" that have ever been produced. (okay I guess most parents can say this)

Learned to graciously listen to the same story over and over and over again!

I absolutely hate roller coasters and downhill rides. But since it's just the two of us I rode Expedition Everest and Splash Mountain numerous times with my DH.

I do draw the line at Rock 'n Roller Coaster, however.

You would actually like RRCoaster I think, one, it is the first ride I ever went on that combined a stereo in your head, playing Aerosmith, and adding the rock to it was awesome. Very fitting. And 2, its not that big of a deal Roller coaster wise IMO, its very smooth and just mainly fast. I don't remember it being very G-forcey at all, and I don't like coasters that whack the G-forces on you.

But it was upside down loops :scared1::sick:

I saw KISS in the fourth row and actually had a great time. All in the name of love. We went back a few times and I really enjoy it.

When it comes to RUSH, however, once was enough. Seriously. :scared1: And that's husband's favorite band ever. So now, I find people to go with him and that works so well.

My fiance likes wild animals, ya know, the 4 legged kind ;) whereas I love everything about BCV, the pool, the close proximity of the coffee from the DVC 'n especially the location so close to Epcot 'n the restaurants.

We already live in the wild, why the heck we gotta go see more wild animals from the window, oh yeah... love.

It's a short 'n special trip so I can do it! :lmao:

Many of the same as you guys -

Box Tops Coordinator - DH used to get so mad at me when I would cut and count them in bed :rotfl:

Tween Concerts - Justin Bieber, Joanas Brothers (twice) and Miley Cyrus - DH went too :lovestruc

Girl Scout leader for 6 years - this is my last year

Here's a good one by DH - licked the sand of DD's pacifier when she dropped it at the park

Held the hands of both my MIL and FIL while they passed from this world :littleangel:

ETA - pumped breast milk in the office conference room for months. Nothing like having everyone ask while snickering what was in the bag in the fridge, asking if they can use it in their coffee, giggling when they had someone walk in on me - ARGH

Gone woodchuck hunting with DH when we were young. Oohed and Aahed over a dead deer / fish

Lice - 'nuf said

I can beat all of you.

I had to play..

Dungeons and Dragons. :rotfl2:

DH was seriously into it, back in 2001-2003, when we lived in AZ. He was gaming at the house (snuck them in while I was at work, he did) and one person had to leave. I walked in the door and was forced to play some mage thing for 3 hours.

Never again.

Yeah but think of it as an adventure. You have to trick yourself into actually thinking you are going to Africa. I bet you have regular ole USA critters in your real backyard, be different with African creatures ya know. I don't want to go to the real Africa for a few different reasons (don't like shots, long flights, cobras in the yard etc.) so AKL and AK are my Africa trip.
