I've taken my kids to Disney 2 times in the past. My son was 6 the first time and 9 the 2nd time.

We did not do the following things:

Country Bear Jamboree
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Tomorrowland Speedway
Enchanted Tiki
Hall of Presidents
Dumbo
Carrousel
Astro Orbitor
Carousel of Progress
Tom Sawyer Island

Lights Motor Action Stunt
Rockin Rollercoater
Tower of Terror

Expedition Everest
Festival of theLion King
Nemo show
Flights of Wonder
Primeval Whirl

Text Track
Ellen's Energy
Journey into your Imagination
Either of the Inovention buildings
Mission Space

Illuminations
Light Parade
Fantasmic

This trip coming up he will be just turned 13. We're planning to do Space and Splash Mountain, Rockin Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, Test Track, and the 3 nighttime things we haven't seen.

What other things from that list should we try to fit in to our plan?

omg...looking at that list, it's as though we havent' done anything in the last 2 trips!

Good lord, what did you do? Literally every single great attraction is on that list. I would consider everything on that list other than Country Bear Jamboree, Tomorrowland Speedway, the Hall of Presidents, and Ellen's Energy Adventure a must do every single trip.

Well my vote is that you should try everything once as you never know what you are going to like or not. Most of those things are things that we go back to time and time again. Some things are pretty campy like Country Bear Jamboree and Journey into Imagination but I would still try. You may never go back to them or maybe they will be gone or refurbished.

Have fun!

We went to WDW for 15 years before we ever remembered that Country Bears was even there. When we finally did it, we loved it! It's a hoot! Now we do it at least 2 or 3 times every trip. It's a very corny show, but my kids love it. I'd give it a try - right up a 13 year old boys alley.

Reading the list, I wondered just what you DID do on those previous trips. I agree that you should try to do them all. You may not love them all, but I'll bet you discover a few new favorites.

Absolutely, this. And don't count out the unexpected favorites either! Carousel of Progress is a must do on every trip for me even though it's an older ride/show! "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...~!"

Here are my thoughts...took out the attractions you know you are going to do...

Country Bear Jamboree - for us -we did it once and now we're done - never again we all voted.
Tomorrowland Speedway - don't like this - it smells like gas / exhaust and really (to us) isn't that much fun
Enchanted Tiki - one and done not a big 'wow'
Hall of Presidents
Dumbo
Carrousel - we do this every trip
Astro Orbitor - we do this every trip
Carousel of Progress
Tom Sawyer Island

Lights Motor Action Stunt - recommend
Festival of theLion King - HIGHLY recommend / must do!
Nemo show
Flights of Wonder - HIGHLY recommend!
Primeval Whirl - this is fun but will jerk you around a lot FYI

Ellen's Energy - never done this
Journey into your Imagination
Either of the Inovention buildings
Mission Space - DH loves this - DD and I avoid it

Zoinks! That's a list of what we try to do every trip. Lol. As previously posted, you have to try everything at least once. Heck,we still do It's a Small World

Carousel of Progress and Tiki Room are classics. We so them every trip. They are kitschy but just fun. Hall of Presidents is good for adults, but kids find it boring. We also love Tom Sawyer Island. I like to go as an adult. DS9 has always loved it.

I would just add in some new ones each trip, not all unless it's a long trip.

Agreed! I am in the "Do Everything" crowd, but since you won't be ale to do everything, this small list of "could be done but not a priority" is a good one. The one change I would make to this post is replace Hall of Presidents as a non-must do with Dumbo. Dumbo is cool for kids and I like riding it with my daughter, but I would not recommend it for a 13 year old. There are dozens of similar rides in other parks. Hall of Presidents might be a good history lesson for a 13 year old.

this made me hurt internally when I saw Splash and Festival of the Lion King on the list....

hahahaha

My kids were not previously into roller coasters that's why we didn't do those. He loves them now so we need to do the ones we haven't. And hated steep drops (reason for not doing splash). Always wanted to see the Lion King but never seemed to be able to fit it in. I'm kind of excited that there are so many things that we haven't done before so it will def feel like a new place for him. We skipped the nighttime stuff before because the kids were typically done with the parks around 4 and just wanted to go back to the resort and swim. this time, we're going for afternoon break then back out at night until late. And with this trip, I can see already running out of time and not being able to do everything on our list....
For time, we have: 6/6 12p on, 6/7 all day, 6/8 all day, 6/9 all day, 6/10 until 3pm.

For MK it took us 3 trips before we even considered doing Small World and 4 trips until the Tiki Room - damn song is stuck in my head now. I think this time we're planning to do Peter Pan and the Country Bears Jamboree, and that would still leave Tom Sawyer Island for a future trip.

We usually take long trips (7-10 days), so it's easier for us to get a lot done than others who may not have that time. That said, I would highly suggest that you try and do as many of those as possible. Everyone has their favorites, and you should never not do those. But, if you don't have time to do everything, skip things like Stitch, Pooh, etc. this and fit some of this stuff in your schedule. There are some top-flight attractions on that list you have not done.

I see the Country Bear Jamboree just to see Big Al. He's so adorable.

I would try to see everything eventually. You never know what you and the kids might love.

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room
All the birds sing the words and the flowers croon
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room

you mean this song? LOL and your welcome for today's earworm...

Loved the Festival of the Lion King show!! I would definitely see that. Also Fantasmic, Illuminations and electric parade.
