Hi Joe,
I've probably missed you at this stage, but if I haven't I may as well throw in my tuppenceworth.
In 1996 my kids were 8 and 6 and I brought them to the Science Museum. They thought they didn't want to go, but once there (supposedly for a 2 hour visit) I couldn't get them out again. I think we were there for over 5 hours and didn't see everything. My kids (teenagers now) still remember it and talk about the great time they had. It's number 1 on my list.
Plus, with regards to your pub crawl, I seem to remember that children were not particularly welcome, I know I spent a lot of time in coffee shops which wouldn't have been my first choice!
Anyway, no matter what you do, you'll have a great time. London's a fantastic spot.
All the best.
