We have been invited to spend a few days with dh's aunt and uncle at their summer condo outside of Denver. I'll be googling later today but came here for some expert advice too! :)
We have a dd11 and ds9. His aunt and ucle would probably go with us on just about any outing. They are VERY adventurous- Us? Not so much! :rotfl:

There's a ton to do in Colorado. Where "outside" of Denver. It'll be easier to give you ideas if I knew where you'll be if you want to go to the mountains, etc.

As for Denver, specific. We love the zoo, it's really good. Just recently had a major overhaul. I go there all the time. There's also the museum right next to it.

Downtown Denver is fun, 16th Stree Mall, Cherry Creek Mall. There's a bookstore called the Tattered Cover that is 3 or 4 stories high, and very fun. Little nooks and crannies all over the place to sit and read, very old looking. There's an ESPN Zone on 16th Street. You could catch a Rockies game, the stadium is beautiful (it'll take you mind of the fact that the Rockies are so bad). No trouble getting tickets. Also, Six Flags is downtown. I like, but Stephen won't go. Why go to 6 Flags when you have WDW!

We'll be staying in Frasier, by Winter Park, I think. We don't mind driving to get to places. We'll have our van too.
Thanks for the ideas. Keep 'em coming!!!

You can go up to Steamboat and go tubing down the river
Horseback riding in the mountains
White water river rafting
Touring caves or Mines (they are all over the place)
I love to go camping and hiking if you have access to a tent and a few supplies
If your kids love water parks you can go to Water World, it's been on the top 10 water parks on the travel channel.

I'll keep thinking of more, there is a lot to do here.

We love Water World and rafting. There's also Glenwood Springs, which is on the western slope. Hot springs to swim in are fun, and there's a great bike path along the Interstate. You'll find a ton of things to do in and around Frasier/Winter Park. I don't really know that area, but in the summer I know you can ride the ski lifts. There's somewhere that has a slide on the mountain. There's biking and great food. Winter Park also hosts a ton of music festivals. When you're googling, look up that. Have fun!

We always have fun at Oceans Journey and the Denver Children's Museum...there is also a 6 Flags right by there, too!

Drive to Colorado Springs, drive up to the top of Pike's Peak, visit the Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods (need rock formations). There is a REALLY good taco place in the Denver airport near the United terminals (at least there was a few years ago). I don't remember the name, but oh were those tacos good!!

My sister lives there and I just wanted to second Water World :)

Estes Park is great and not too far from Winter Park by going on the Peak to Peak Highway and over Trail Ridge Road. Also Boulder and the Pearl Street Mall.

Colorado in the summer is wonderful especially in the mountains.
