We arrive a day before our cruise and have a full day to play. We're going to DCL after cruise, so that's taken care of.

Anyone know if any of the Gator parks are close by? dH and DD love Gator Boys on AP. I goggled but am geographically ignorant in Florida. Tax!

You could go check out the Kennedy Space Center.

I agree. If you are going after June 29th the new Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit will be open! I won't get to see it until August and I can't wait (I should mention that I am currently pursuing my Masters in Space Science)

We have just hung out at the hotel, spent the day at Downtown Disney and this year we are going to Kennedy Space center. We were able to get free tickets from our congressman.

Disney's Vero beach is a wonderful precruise stay. If the weather is nice in Cocoa you go to the beach, mini golf, kayaking.

I don't know, if money wasn't an option, I'd either add an extra disney day to warm up your cruise, or hit sea world or something. You may be doing WDW after, but how many days? For our CCL in Feb/Mar we did 2 base days, with a LOT of walking. We were very glad to get to the ship and have two sea days just to relax. After the 7 day CCL, we got back off and literally ran the entire day (I mean real running, and my DH is 6'3" so I think I did perdy good keeping up with him!) and we hit every park and Epcot twice that day. My point is, depending on how many days you plan to do disney, you might be better off taking one disney day before DCL, having your cruise, and then doing a day less on the WDW leg back, AND do your gatorland or something after. Like split it up so that your feet don't have all the pain. That is one suggestion.

We did a 4 park hopping day + Contemporary dinner and MK twice day on the Wed before our DCL embarked. Sitting under those Wishes fireworks as a family and then catching Elec Parade on the way out, what a way to start your Disney vacation...

That's just my opinion... but we did 2 Disney days before our FebMar cruise, 1 Disney day after it got back, and 1 Disney day before our DCL last week and it is just a fabulous way to make it FEEL like you have gotten to Orlando! You have arrived! (That and the first thing my DT "Dear/Disney Twin" wants off the plane is Waffle House!!)

Look at all that Disney this year...somebody pinch me...

Gator land is not that big, & it's definitely a cool experience. I would say you could spend about 5 hours there & see everything. Be sure to snack on the gator nuggets! they were yummy!

They have promotions on the website too for discounts on admission.

Have fun whatever you decide!

Thank you all for the info... I love all the expert advise on DIS boards, I can usually find just ant anything! :). Got some things to consider....

There is a dinosaur museum I found online that we plan on going to. Other than that I think we'll swim at the hotel and relax.

We saw the Dinosaurstore but I was with three uninterested girls. We did stop at Ice Cream Junction and Oriental Food Mart which was on the same street. The ice cream was really good and if you like Asian food it looked wonderful.

Dang...I'm a NASA employee and couldn't even get a discount (2010)

Last year, we were able to get free tickets to Kennedy Space Center from our state senator's office. All I had to do was call and then they gave me an e-mail to send our date and number of people to. The tickets were at will call. It was really way cooler than I expected, and I would highly recommend it, especially if its FREE! :)

Thank you for link to Gatorland. I saw this but didn't know anything about it. I've been researching though! ;) thanks again

In between MCO and Cocoa on 520 is a place called Lone Cabbage Fish Camp. They have Airboat rides which would have a high likelihood of seeing gators in the wild.

Thanks for that tip. We really want to take an airboat ride when we are in FL this time.
