Things that you have kept for too long?

I have a trunk full of mementoes, scrap books from college, early marriage memories… 55+ years ago until maybe 30 years ago. When we moved 4 years ago, these did make the cut and came with us.

Sixty plus years ago while on a family vacation, we stopped at a Stuckey's in Pennsylvania and I was so enthralled with the coffee cup my hot chocolate came in, the waitress gave it to me. For the next 50 years I continued to pick up a coffee cup when ever I went on a trip. Ten years ago I downsized and moved into a small apartment. I carefully packed the entire collection into packing boxes specifically designed for cups which have lived unopened in the corner of a closet ever since.

When I first moved I only put two cups in kitchen cupboard for actually use but that has grown to 15. Due to space constraints, now if I get a new one, one in the cupboard has to go but still the boxes in the closet linger on.

Nice idea new coffee cup, one has to go. I too, collect mugs from travels.

My DH refuses to get rid of furniture so we have a fu.rniture graveyard on the 2nd floor.

My Depression glass. I used to collect it and display it. It's not worth much, picked up pieces at Goodwill or flea markets for the most part. It's packed away in a couple of boxes in one of our storage spaces. I packed it up when I moved here 13 years ago with all intentions of putting it out again, but my aunt didn't have proper space for it in the kitchen and didn't want it anywhere else. So. I stopped collecting it, and truth be told I stopped caring about it more than a decade ago.

I seriously was thinking the pajama pants that I am wearing right now :rotfl2:

It's like these things are work so thin in places, have some holes worn, frayed at the bottom...BUT I like the color.
