Things that everyone seems to love but you hate??

Vera Bradley handbags. They look like granny knitting bags to me.

OMG, I totally agree! :)

Conan O'Brien .. I DESPISE this guy
Harry Potter
All Reality TV shows
Seinfeld
Sushi
Danielle Steele books
Designer Handbags -- give me a soft leather bag. I don't care who designed it
Nascar
Texting
Wine

Lord of the Rings
Smoking
The Beatles
FarmVille
Rap
Adam Lambert
Justin Beiber
American Idol
Dancing with the Stars

It's funny how I love, Survivor, Twilight, and Harry Potter... I must have REAL issues...

Lord of the Rings... I watched the ending of the third one and almost killed myself as it seemed to go on FOREVER!!! The third one was the only one I saw as I was forced to (long story) and I can't imagine what I'd do if I ever had to see that crap ever again!

I absolutely hated the movies but LOVED the The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Read them all at least twice, the Hobbit four times since college-a very loooong time ago! :rolleyes1

-Sports watching of any kind
-"Adult" cartoons like Family Guy. Any show that makes me want to smack a baby is no good
-American Idol
-Smoking
-Texting
-MTV
-Drinking. I may have a drink once in a blue moon, but alcohol just is not that appealing to me.

I don't really watch TV, but could make a quicker list of programs that I do like than programs I don't like. Of course, there are so many that I've never even seen. In total, I probably watched maybe 3 episodes of Friends (since it was on so long, I chose to use it as an example, I did enjoy those episodes though).

I love chicken and I love cheese, I just cannot stand the 2 together. This puts a lot of dishes off the menu at my house and my family hates it.

I concur with some other posters in that Vera Bradley bags are hideous, and Crocs? YUCK!

I've never seen a Louis Vuitton bag that I've liked either. Actually, the truth be told, I hate handbags altogether. I'm much happier not carrying one around. I do enjoy buying them for my daughter though.

I also don't like eggs (except deviled or pickled and don't eat the yolk if they are pickled), but I LOVE watching everyone else eat them when they're cooked sunny side up. Everyone always makes it looks like it's to die for as they're dipping their toast into the yolk.

I'm also not a fan of coffee, but I love to smell it brewing (which is rare to nonexistent in my house).

I have little doubt I could go on with this list for forever and a day if I wanted to.

hmmm...From the disboards things that everyone seems to love but I hate:

Christmas Cards
Keeping my Christmas Decorations up for 12 days after Christmas
Photopass
DDP
POP

:goodvibes

I'm also going to risk the blasphemy here (putting on my flame resistant suit as I type). I really hate that Mickey, Dooney & Bourke purse that it seems like everyone else loves so much. Actually, Dooney & Bourke is about as hideous as Louis Vuitton, IMO. I am unable to find anything from either company that I like.

How can anyone not love The Beatles, dogs or ice cream

Well, some of my dislikes:

Turkey

Coffee

hot drinks. Love iced tea, hate hot tea. Milk must be ice cold, otherwise is nasty

Cell phones and phones in general. I hate them

Twilight and all of its vampiric ilk. That definitely tops the list.

Football. I'd rather have shards of glass in my eyes than watch an entire football game.

Coffee. But coffee doesn't like me either.

Vera Bradley handbags, for the granny-vibe as stated above.

Murder mystery genre shows like Law and Order and CSI. There's enough tragedy and horror in the world; that just isn't entertainment to me.

Tom Cruise. Even before he went all weird and jumped on the couch I just didn't get it. He's not sexy at all :crazy2:

omg me too!! i never thought he was attractive or a halfway decent actor! i think i've liked ONE movie he was in!!

i also agree with those who have said football. i just can't get into it. i have no interest in a sport where they run a yard, stop, run a yard, stop, run a yard, stop, time out, run a yard, etc......i'll take hockey any day, thank you!

1. All of the crime shows - CSI, NCIS, etc. - Too much brainpower is needed to follow some of these shows. I'm much too simple minded for them. It's reality t.v. for me.

2. Harry Potter novels - I have only read the first two, but I they just felt long and boring to me. For me, the movies were better because they cut out a lot of the fat.

i can't stand most of the cop shows, either. i watch Numb3rs and White Collar and that's it. i don't understand the fascination with CSI, NCIS, or even all the doctor dramas like Grey's Anatomy and Nurse Betty and Mercy...no...we don't need 15 versions of the same show!

and with Harry Potter i hated it at first until i saw the 3rd movie, then i wanted to read the books and the first two books/movies bore me to tears i had reading them or watching them. the books really start getting better by the 3rd one.

Lost, Survivor, and Adam Lambert

right there with you on these! i actually watched Lost for the first few seasons but i got so sick of it after all the flash backs and flash forwards and you have to pay attention to EVERY SINGLE THING and i couldn't stand Jack or Kate....no thank you.

Survivor i never got into.

and Adam Lambert...right there with you. but only for the fact that i can't stand his voice and i think he's got an attitude problem and comes across as fake. it has nothing to do with him being "offensive" or whatnot. i've seen worse things on cable tv than anything he's done.

Trips to New York City. I live in one of the other boroughs (not Manhattan), but I just don't understand the draw of the city. I actually HATE the city! It's always so crowded with tourists who just walk so slowly. Haha, you can tell who's a New Yorker and who's not because the real NYers just weave in and out of the masses of people. I also don't like using the subway and then walking everywhere because you can't find parking. I don't understand how they have the trips to NYC as prizes in contests. I'd take WDW over NYC any day and not just because I live here.

(Of course, it's not to say I hate the idea of the city ... everything available to you, open late at night like Pommes Frites and other good food places ... but once I get there, all I want to do is go home!)

i've only been to NYC once and it was only for a day. and i couldn't believe how dirty it looked. in movies/tv it doesn't look that dirty but IRL it's disgusting. there's trash every where and homeless people on every corner and yep too many people for my tastes and i had some guy following me for BLOCKS until i grabbed my purse and put it infront of me. my husband says we have to go at least once more so we can see all of the sights(we never got around to it) but i'm even weary on that. it doesn't look "glamorous" to me at all...it looks disgusting.

I HATE Twilight. HATE it. And am inclined to think that anyone over the age of 15 who can read it without gagging has major issues.

i guess i have "major issues"

but just so you know, i read them before the movies or that "hype" came out because i've always been a fan of the "vampire" thing. Lost Boys, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Vampire Diaries(books and the show), Blood Ties, I Am Legend, the Vampire Chronicles......so i gave both Twilight and True Blood a try and couldn't get into them. i mean...Twilight has certain moments that are...interesting but nothing really that great. and True Blood never had any interesting parts for me. unless the one blonde guy gets completely naked...then we're talking! :thumbsup2 but i heard it's the females that show EVERYTHING and the males don't. go figure...

i just have a question.

for all of these things that you "hate" have you actually tried them?

like with the Harry Potter/LOTR/Twilight stuff have you actually watched/read them all? because saying "i hate it" when you haven't even watched/read them...idk....

and the same with food. have you tried sushi or seafood? same diff. because i can understand if you tried these things and didn't like them.

i tried watching True Blood, didn't like it.

tried listening to Adam Lambert and didn't like him.

tried reading the Bourne books and didn't like them, either.

tried watching maybe an episode here and there of one of the CSI or NCIS's and didn't care for them. tried to watch a game of football, i think i actually fell asleep.

or maybe is it just the "hype" that you hate? i know some of you said you tried, but some of you haven't mentioned and i'm just curious.

Lost Boys.....Mmmmm.....To me, Keifer Sutherland is still the hottest and sexiest Teen-aged vampire ever.....yesssss.
