Things that could end a good relationship.

Hahahahahaha. Of course he's being deliberately obtuse. Yes, the dinner thing is EXACTLY the same as saying you expect a woman to stay fit and wear heels and keep her hair long because it suits you (the key word is expect here, if I have to spell it out for you). Hahaha. Thanks for the laugh today.

Also, I don't think you know what this :goodvibes smiley means.

Yes in fact it is completely ludicrous and ridiculous and frankly odd and childish to get into a frenzy about a stranger suggesting they prefer a woman to dress, stay in shape and wear their hair exactly how they in fact do dress, stay in shape and wear their hair. And frankly it comes across as a person that can never be pleased. Its like someone being upset that their husband brings home lobster when in fact they were wanting lobster, but the fact that the man suggested it is a reason to get upset about it. :faint:

Onions.

My husband has tried many times to hide them in food. Why do people do this? I do not like them now, I didn't like them when I was 13, and I certainly will not like them when I am 60. (and fat and not able to wear heels any longer.) Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, yaknowwhatimean.

This thread is incredibly entertaining. :lmao:

And women of the DIS, worry not! If you poke your head out of the community board from time to time, you'll find plenty of male users who are pleasant and witty and not thoroughly exasperating. :thumbsup2

I'm not her, but... First, it's the way you say it and how much importance you put on it, second as I explained before, it's a women's issue and I do not have to be black to be offended by a racist comment against black people.

See, I don't get that. If you or any other female poster here said they'd dump their husband if they got fat I wouldn't take it as some attack against men. I'd take it as you don't want your husband to become fat. That is between you and your husband and has nothing to do with me. It sure wouldn't offend me.

I think part of why it wouldn't offend me is because I have no intention of becoming fat as I age so I don't look at it as some attack against me. I'd be extremely upset at myself if I ever let that happen. I wonder if some of the people here get overly offended because they have, themselves, let themselves go and take The Aviator's statement as against them personally even though it isn't meant to be.

I'm glad I didn't post an opinion that I prefer woman who shave, brush their teeth and take showers. I'm sure that would no doubt offend some. Since I'm so exasberating (see I don't know how to spell that word.) :)

I think you hit the nail on the head.

Gosh, you've stated in numerous threads on very contentious issues that nothing offends or bothers you. In fact the closest you come to expressing emotion seems to be when you're talking about the horrors of obesity. I'm starting to believe you're either a robot, or someone who suffered through fat camp as a child.

Nope. I think it's a part of objectifying women and holding them to different standards (they must shave, should wear their hair long, etc). I am overweight, but I absolutely do not feel I've "let myself go". At least two or three other women on here have said they're offended even though they're not overweight, etc .

I'm not offended for myself. My husband actually thought I was too thin before (even though I was not!), so he's not unhappy with the changes.

And if you're not a woman, I wouldn't expect you to understand completely.

I am voting robot... a person or entity who has serious deficits in social/emotional interactions.

So do you think women here are lying when they say they're offended, yet not obese (which is what TheAviator is talking about since he said 250+), have long hair and wear heels?

You seem like a smart lady, now I so know you aren't going to defend not shaving are you? :confused3

Of course. If a man or woman doesn't want to shave, they shouldn't have to.

Personally, I shave, but have friends who don't. But I brought that up because of a prior thread of yours.

Things just don't offend me. Jokes don't, comments don't, observations about random strangers don't, the use of some word that is no longer PC doesn't. I just don't get all bent out of shape about things. I shrug and go about my day. I many not find them funny or think they are good comments to make or words to use but I don't let other people have that kind of power over me. I find it odd that so many other people do.

I also have never been to fat camp. I was an adorable child ;)
