Things that aren't there anymore

I miss Magic Journeys, the first 3-d movie at Imagination.
And, of course, I miss the original Journey to Imagination. The redo's have been poor.
I miss the Main Street Penny Arcade and the Magic Shop.

All of the things I miss......as well as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in MK and Kitchen Kabaret/Food Rocks in Epcot (although Soarin' is definately a cool substitute!)

Is the CBJ gone??? It looked like it was still there in March, but we never ended up seeing it. I planned on going in September. I would be hugely disappointed if it was gone!

CBJ is still open and operating at WDW (at least it was in June), it closed and was replaced by Pooh at DisneyLAND.

I miss Walter Cronkite narrating Spaceship Earth.
I miss Garden Grill before it was a character meal.
I miss butter shaped like Mickey.
I miss the way they painted each floor on the interior of the Contemporary a different color.
I miss the seacabs at Living Seas.
I miss the old "Universe of Energy" music, even though I like the Ellen story line better.

Anyone but me remember the train that used to run in Fort Wilderness? And, of course, there was River Country and NO swimming pool in what was supposed to be a rustic area. Also, the make your own pizza was there also. And Discovery Island.

-"Magic journeys"
-Skyway!
-Looking out the doors of ToT and being able to see your car!
-20,000 leagues
-Calling the WEDway the WEDway. I CANNOT get behind the TnA!

I miss Horizons.
I miss the Main Street that was there 8 years ago. Too many shops now!
I miss the Skyway.
I miss not being able to see the Chinese Theater as I walk down Hollywood Boulevard at MGM.

I miss Food Rocks so much! Soarin rocks, but they should take out that boring Lion King show and put Food Rocks where it is. I mean that Lion King stage takes up a lot of space! :guilty:

I miss:

The penny arcade and magic shop
The Magic Kingdom marching band!!!!
The summer college music program.
The Flag retreat on Main St. complete with band and doves.
Horizons
World of Motion
Walter Cronkite's narration in SE ... "Behold the majesty of the Cistine Chapel!"
Garden Grill with the OLD menu.
The Mainstreet Electric Light Parade
Kitchen Kaberet with Bonnie Apetite ... "Veggie, Fruit, Fruit ... Veggie, Veggie Fruit, Fruit"

Everyone has pretty much hit the nail on the head...
I miss the chef at the LTT
the apple butter
the soft biscuits
the grilled pound cake with caramel and pecans...mmmmmmm

I love this thread! It brings back some great memories...like seeing Song of the South in the Contemporary theater and cruising down the zip line at River Country. We were just there in May (first time with the kiddos) and were definitely missing Mr. Toad and I have been missing Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit for a long time (still have my broccoli doll from that show!). Although there are some attractions I miss, everything that's special about Disney still remains.

I miss walking through and seeing the animators at work at MGM. Those drawing tables look so lonely now.

I miss the guided walking tour that took you through the sound stages, props dept., etc.

I miss seeing the Golden Girls house...actually, I miss that entire section of the Backlot Tour that is now gone.

I miss Superstar Television.

I miss Main Street Electrical Parade.

I miss the Skyway.

Oh my! It has been too long. I was going to say I miss "Mission to Mars"! That was before Alien Encounters. I can't believe Alien Encounters is gone already.

I also miss the Electric Night Parade. It was so incredible when I was a kid. I kept looking for the extension cords :)

I miss 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Discovery Island
River Country
If You Had Wings
Skyway

I am going to agree with daydreamer I really miss the Huntchback show in MGM. I also miss the old Diamond Horshoe it was great.

You all would probably love this site:www.Yesterland.com

I miss Mr Toads Wild Ride. I was about 7 or 8 yo the first and only time I went to WDW. I knew before getting on the ride that there were devils that popped up at the end. This terrified me , so I practically had my eyes covered the whole time (Kind of funny because I was not scared of the Haunted Mansion or the roller coasters)! Now 20 years later I'm planning a WDW trip for my own family and I was hoping to get on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride again to see What I missed out on because I heard so much about it but unfortunately Winnie the Pooh replaced him :guilty:

I know he is still at DL but I don't know when i'd ever go out there.

I miss the whole ambience of WDW in the mid-to-late 1980's. (I was an adult then, too. This isn't based on a child's memories.) I still enjoy WDW very much, but it's definitely not the same atmosphere.

Ah, well, time marches on. But not always in the best of directions.
