Things I would never have done without the DIS

Oh! PB&J shake at 50s Prime Time.

When something disappears from a menu, I assume it is no longer available. Saw people on the DIS were still ordering it and tried myself...voila! PB&J shake.

 :cheer2: :cool1:Go DISers! It's your birthday! :cool1: :cheer2:

I learned more from reading just this thread than anything else! :)

But I learned that I could book ADRs before i even booked the trip--I had no idea you could do that with free dining. And I'm glad I did because I still barely got what I wanted (still working on one).

I learned that making cute tipping envelopes is going to be a fun project for art class (we home school and I am planning on Disney themed projects for art the whole month of September!).

I learned about Pick A Pearl and my Carriage cages are on their way to my house!

I learned the importance of the right socks, the right bag and even the right bra!

Oh and most importantly, I learned that people are very, very sensitive about what type of shoes they wear to Disney and statements such as "Crocs are of the devil" should not be made around here! Oops.. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, I swear! :)

unfortunately dd is allergic to nuts so she can't but i'll give it a shot.

Booking ADR's 180 days out and I'm so looking forward to hunting down the carrot cake cookie in HS for our next trip!

I would not have known that you could get a AAA discount at resturants in DTD.

I would not have known that I could upgrade my 5 day pass to an annual pass.

I would not have known that fasspasses did not expire.

Without Disboards, I would not have known there is a dance studio in MK, where you can hear the classes taking place. I took DD down the street to hear it and her face lit up when she heard the class tapping. She is a competitive dancer and thought it was the coolest thing!

(the dance studio is off of Main Street on the right as you face the castle. I think it is the last right, down a small little street to a cul de sac. The studio is on the upper left at the end of the street.

Other things I learned:

I can decorate my window at the resort

To photograph or text the photopass number in case you loose the card. (which I did on a ride!)

a photopass share (my last 2 trips)

a discount code for this year's photopass (it's expired now, sorry)

how to see Snow White & all of the dwarves at MNSSHP last year

the DISigners who helped me surprise DD with last year's trip

how to make Tye Dye Mickey shirts

I missed the one about the AAA discount. Which resturants give the discount?

If it weren't for the Dis, I wouldn't have....

- stayed onsite
- eaten at a TS restaurant
- been to the parks at rope drop
- watched DD wake Tinker Bell
- watch DD participate in Pirate Tutorial
- gone on a carriage ride
- returned to Disney 3 years in a row because I just couldn't get enough
- had tea at the Grand Floridian
- ridden in the font of the monorail
- watched the Candy Lady make beautiful edible artwork
- ridden BTMRR & Haunted Mansion (I was too afraid before the Dis convinced me otherwise, and now they are favorites of ours)
- watched my parents tear up with a personalized menu and diver greeting at Coral Reef

I could go on and on...

I would never have even considered driving 2,000 miles plus round trip to WDW if not for that awesome thread on the transportation board.

Design my own T's for the family for our trips. So much fun!

Make our Autograph books. Such a special keep sake.

I wouldn't know how to embed characters into photos without the Dis.

I would not have known about the Tiana show on the Riverboat last year and the best place to be to see it. Louis bowing to my daughter (all dressed up like tiana) after they stepped off the river boat was OMG!

That value rooms at AKV can have Savanna views!!!

The 180 plus 10 rule.

We wouldn't have done MVMCP or known about how unbelievably magical Disney is during the holiday season.

Touring Plans best park days.

Rode up front in the monorail and got the pilots license.

We were a featured family on a Disney Travel channel special because of the Dis!!!

DD's were picked to go on stage at FOTLK because of Dis strategies!

Chef TJ at 'Ohana made my mom one of the best Vegan meals of her life!

There are so many things I learn here every year. We always have ADR's perfect and we are always ahead of the crowds and able to do what we want to do with little hassle because of the knowledge we have from this site.:thumbsup2

I would have never done the Chip and Dale's Campfire sing-a-long at Fort Wilderness. That activity was one of my family's favorites from our last trip.

We're taking our first family trip to WDW at the end July and I cannot begin to list all the wonderful tips and ideas I've discovered through DIS. Thank you all!!! :worship:

Can you point me to this thread!? We're doing exactly that in 52 days (). With a 3 year old -- getting nervous here!:scared1:

THANKS!
