The things I loved about our first stay at BLT:

1) The walk to the Magic Kingdom is priceless. We had not stayed at a resort within walking distance of a park before so I didn't mind the buses. Now I do. Our two and a half year old is--hopefully!-- not at the most patient stage of his life and likes to keep moving. He often yells, "Go, go!" when we get into any kind of line. Two less lines per trip to the Magic Kingdom makes for way happier parents. It also considerably cuts time spent on afternoon naps back at the room, particularly during the shortened park hours of January.

2) The view north over Bay Lake was surprisingly undeveloped and relaxing. We've never rented a car and so have not explored the areas adjacent to WDW; I had assumed that everything beyond the first treeline was developed.

3) The pie shaped rooms and wall of glass on the outside of the "C" feel expansive and airy, particularly after the dimness at Animal Kingdom Villas.

4) The Blue Flag boats to and from Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge are frequent, quick, and a nice change of pace.

5) We did not have a direct view of the Magic Kingdom, but could see the castle and the fireworks when we sat close to the windows. It wasn't the greatest vantage point, but not swimming through the crowd on our way out of the park was nice. One caveat is that we could hear the fireworks easily, even inside, so I would not try to put a light sleeper to bed shortly before the fireworks begin in those rooms.

It sounds like you had a great trip! My whole family enjoyed the BLT experience too! We also used the boats going to FW/VWL.

I'm glad you had a great time!
If you enjoy walking to parks... try BCV or BWV sometime.

We had a North facing dedicated 2 BR two weeks ago. I agree the view is priceless. I think the thing I enjoyed the most was getting up early and watching the world come to life with my cup of coffee on the balconey. The boats coming out of their docks and the MK trains getting ready for a long day. Everything was so clean and coordinated it was just like being at the beach watching thesun come up before everyone else gets up and going. Kinda like a behind the scenes sneak peak.:goodvibes
