Things Disney Offers But Doesn't Advertise *Summary Added Oct 08*

Thanks for replying! I couldn't find your e-mail address and it was giving me an error when I clicked on your name to email you. I've been a long time lurker since around '01 :). Be posting a lot more cuz I'm planning a trip in June.

Jr. Chef Experience at Epcot is no longer available. They are turning the area into additional seating.

This past Sept I got the shake at Pinocchio's thinking I'd get the nice "souvenier" cup I've always gotten in the past, and it came in a regular cup. Maybe they were out of the good one's? Has anyone gotten the nice cup after Sept 07?

Also, at some of the restaurants, you can order a kid's drink - comes in a nice Peter Pan plastic cup w/ a light up tinkerbell clipped to the straw. I don't think the drink was included in the DDP but it was a nice souvenier & the drink was really good. :-)

I just went thru about half of this thread...it's great!
one thing that may be here that I just haven't gotten to is this one...
my husband just called me from WDW (he is there on a father-son trip) with his 7 year old. they were on the train, all the way in the back and his son got to call "all aboard" and what ever else it is they do when you are riding. he got to do it at all the stops all the way around the park and got a certificate saying he was conductor for a day or something like that. he told my husband that it was the best ride he's ever been on:thumbsup2

I don't think this happen's anymore.

I'm not sure if it does, but if you go into the shop and you peek through the key hole in the bureau you will see a quick flash of light...and Tink! One of the DIS'ers has a photo of this.

Yep! This one is on our list!

The first time I tried this tip, the conductor didn't do it, but we sat back there again (just because my boys loved riding back there the last time) this past trip, and guess what?

They both got to stand on the back platform with the conductor and say, "All aboard!" It was great!

The conductor said, "Mom, aren't you going to take our picture?" He was an older, wonderful man. I wish I had gotten his name. (I like to e-mail Disney about great CMs.)

He also gave them little conductor cards, similar to the cards you get on the monorail when you ride up front with the driver.

Too many to read, but one of my favorites is to grab a beer, find a place to sit in the Garden behind the pubs in Epcot Great Britian and listen to the Beatles tribute band. They are very good but play a very short set.

I'm not sure about Pinocchio's, but we always used to get smoothies in a souvenir cup at Auntie Gravitie's. Not anymore - now they're in a plain plastic cup. :sad2:

My DD13 gets a smoothie at Auntie Gravitie's everytime we go to MK. She was so disappointed to get it in a plain old plastic cup on our last visit (July 2007).

My DD9 got to do this too, along with 2 other boys who were riding near the back of the train. It's little things like this that make Disney magical for kids.

Not sure if these have been mentioned yet...

This year I plan on taking my dad to Beaches & Cream for a "kitchen sink" sundae. I can't imagine the look on his face when he sees it!

Also, we love to stop in the Club Cool Station at Epcot (I think that's the name? It's a store filled with Coke products) We love to try the different flavors of soda from around the world...some are really good, others not so much (Beverly!). Best part is, it's free. :thumbsup2 Great way to cool off and get out of the hot sun for a few minutes.
