Thin walls at value resorts?

I thought I already addressed this problem????

Use a humidifier or a white noise machine and enjoy your vacation!

My quietest stays to date have been at BWV, at the end of the hallway, and at AllStarMusic, on the third level toward the back of Jazz. Noisiest? Polynesian by a long shot!! We had two different families next to us during a 9 night stay in '03. Both groups were very noisy...one with just over the top loudness at all hours of the night. The other was pretty normal noise but still late at night. We had people running down the halls at midnight, yelling. We had people in the quiet (?) pool late at night..mostly teens. I love the Polynesian, I really do, but for some reason it was incredibly noisy for our stay there.

We've stayed at the values, moderates, and deluxes, and I have to say, we've never really had a problem with noisy neighbors!!! Sure, every now and then we'd hear the neighbor talking, but nothing to make it a bother. And we've occasionally had a neighbor put the door stopper in and let the door bang. But nothing where it affected our sleep!

Last July 4th, we did a split stay with Pop Century and Wilderness Lodge. Our room at Pop Century overlooked the kiddy pool. We were on the 3rd floor, and we never heard a thing!!!

We've only stayed at All Star Movies and Pop Century as far as the values go, and again - we LOVED our stays there!!! At All Star Movies, we were in the Love Bug section once, and 101 Dalmations twice. Never heard our neighbors!!! At Pop Century, we stayed in the 60s and the 50s. Again, a great stay and we actually got to see the fireworks one night from our room!

Good luck choosing your resort!!! But I wouldn't be overly concerned about "noisy" value resorts!!! Have fun!!!

I really hope that we don't experience anything like this!!

For those of you who are familiar with WDW policies on this type of thing, what recourse does one have? I mean, we all want to have fun but there has to be some consideration for others, esp. late at night. Has anyone ever called the front desk to complain? What was the response?

I stayed in a $320+/night room at AKL and experience the same thing. I could hear the neighboring room's alarm clock, toilet flush, shower, and conversations. Luckily they got ready pretty quickly in the morning and I didn't loose much sleep.

Ask 20 different people and you'll get 20 different answers. It's fairly in vogue around here to "bash" the values for some reason, so personally I think these types of posts often get biased answers.

I've stayed at Deluxes and Values and didn't notice any difference in noise other than hearing the pool sounds when our room was in close proximity.

I would be furious! I agree it's a "neighbor problem" but not when you pay over $500 bucks per night at say Grand Floridian :sad2:
