I love the Endor themed line at Star Tours. The droids and other stuff in the inside queue are really cool to look at.

Hi All! Time for another update!

When Caitlin left off we were back at the hotel for our first sleep at the Art of Animation Resort.....

After a good night's sleep we were up early to begin our day! (honestly who can sleep in when New Fantasyland is calling your name?!)

We got dressed and at 7 made the long hike to the food court. When we got to the food court Caitlin toasted a gluten-free bagel she brought from home while I went and purchased this




This was their "bounty platter" and more food than I could possibly eat but since we were on the dining plan I was trying to get the biggest bang for my buck. I ended up sharing some of the eggs and bacon with Caitlin. One of the things that makes AoA different from the other resorts is they are "greener". Notice that the food court serves meals on real dishes and the utensils aren't plastic either. It does seem nicer that way.

When we were done eating we headed out to the bus stop. This was the first of many crowded bus rides at AoA. We both had to stand and I had someone's little darling intentionally kicking me the entire time. Not the most magical start to my day. Anyway, before long we were at the Magic Kingdom and ready to make some memories!







We arrived about an hour before rope drop so we talked with the people around us and even gave some newbies some itinerary planning advice.

Before we knew it some old friends appeared to say "Good Morning"



They were soon joined by even more old friends



At rope drop we took off as fast as our legs could walk and headed for New Fantasyland. Of course Caitlin had to get some pics as we sped along....






We raced past the carousel which hadn't started up yet


Then hurried past the new castle walls



We waved to Belle's cottage as we zoomed by



We eyed the Beast's castle as we continued on


We passed Gaston's



And then we saw "it". Our first destination!


I was beyond excited to be here

The Little Mermaid is my very favorite Disney movie so I just couldn't wait to experience this attraction. Thanks to our race walking we were the very first riders of the day. Pretty cool! The queue and the ride are both amazing! They truly feel like you've stepped into the movie!

And the big finish which of course had me in tears...Whenever I hear Triton say how much he's going to miss her..well I just lose it!



When we got off we noticed there still wasn't any line so what did we do? Yep, we rode again! We walked right back on and hustled through the queue and by 9:20 we'd ridden twice!

We loved it just as much the second time! This time when we finished we headed over to the Beauty and the Beast area.




Our first stop was


Yep! Time for some shopping!

Caitlin ended up getting this blanket, mug and castle glass. She was going to get the stein but changed her mind.



She had the packages sent to the hotel and then we headed over to



Caitlin was eager to try


The "brew" tastes sort of like extra sweet, frozen apple juice. We ended up sharing one and enjoyed it but I think it would be much to sweet to drink a whole one yourself.

We then took a little tour around Gaston's.

Apparently LeFou isn't much of a dart player



The "hero" himself I should mention that from the time she was 2 Caitlin was obsessed with this movie. She always had all the toys and clothes and watched the video endlessly. The only thing she didn't like was that she thought Belle should pick Gaston


Anyway, back to the tour. The fireplace even had a fire going







As you can see, Gaston's is really cool! I think it's great Disney put so much detail into just a little counter service place!

When we left Gaston's we were headed to another area which was also new to Caitlin. I will let her tell you about that, next time.

The Little Mermaid ride/Prince Eric's castle are amazing. Glad you enjoyed it!

What does it say about me if I also color in coloring books and watch Disney Channel movies, and I got 10 years on you Caitlin?

The resort looks beautiful! I really want to see it in person.

Scar is definitely one of the best villains. Jeremy Irons voice is so amazing.

GGGAAAHHH!!! I love Star Wars too! You'd be interested to know I'm doing some Star Wars virtual runs to get Star Wars medals. I'm so excited!

Dad's Electric Lemonade, always a good choice.

I was thinking exactly that about you guys always splitting meals and how that would factor in with Caitlin's allergy. Definitely a transition for you guys.

The Great Movie Ride is my least favorite place to have a long line, because while I love the reel, I don't love the reel over and over again for a long time.

Return of the Jedi was always my favorite when I was younger. That's because I was two when it came out and my parents took me to the theater. Yup, two year old at a Star Wars movie. Although after I got older it moved to being Empire Strikes Back.

Pool side drink? Yes please!

Your pictures of the Cars area made me think about going to Disneyland in April. You're going to love it when you guys get there in a few months!

Yay, Little Mermaid! I love that ride so so much.

If you like the LeFou's Brew, go to Maurice's when you go to Disneyland and get the Boysen Apple Freeze. SOOOOOO GOOOOOODDDD!!!

The Cars area of the resort made me really excited for Cars land. I wasn't a big fan of the movie but the whole area is so cute!
The Little Mermaid ride is great!

We'll have to try the Apple Freeze too
