I hope you got your sewing machine working again.
I'm sorry to hear about your arm. I hope it feels better today.
Sounds like you had a nice trip to the zoo.
I had a nice, but exhausting trip. It was nice to learn new things and exchange experiences with others that have cerebral palsy.
Thanks Lillian - Yes, my machine is totally back to it's normal self... I feel like such an idiot - but oh well, we all make mistakes.
It is much better, the lump is completely gone and it's not tender at all... So, I must have done something to it - but I don't know what?
We did, thank you.
That's awesome - I am glad to hear you had a great trip!
Looks like you and V had a great day! Her glasses are very cute. Love all the selfies
Glad your car trouble doesn't seem to be anything major!
Ugh...Josh and the burning.....yeah, that sounds like something Bill would do. Sometimes they just don't think things through That's what makes women so special.....our brains work better!
Hope you have a great day today! I'll be hunkering down on my computer this evening to straighten out our Nov touring plan. Looks like I may switch a couple days to coincide with EMH mornings. I'll send you the updated spreadsheets when I finish.
We did... Yes, I love her glasses too - they are so adorable on her. They are very similar to her old ones - but just a little bit bigger, I like these better, because for some reason they make her eyebrows more expressive, and it just cracks me up.
No kidding - me too!!! I was so nervous there for a few minutes.
I know - boys... Sigh.
Thanks! Looking forward to reading over them.
I'm glad you got your sewing machine working again.
I wish you ha good day
Thank you!!! You too Lillian!
Glad you figured out what was wrong with your machine. Sounds like something I would do.
The rag quilt sounds like a great idea. It would be something for GUs to remember you guys by when he is away at college.
Hahaha... Glad to hear that I wouldn't be the only one.
That's what I was thinking too... but I just wasn't sure if it was "too much", both from a monetary standpoint and from an emotional standpoint - if that makes any sense?
I was away for my oldest daughter's dance competition this weekend & missed SOOOOO much! There have been many, many times I have just gotten up from both of my sewing machine in tears. It IS truly frustrating when you just can't find out what is wrong. Very glad to hear Patience is back to her old self & you are back on track.
What a great day with V!
I think the rag quilt would be a great gift for Gus. It would be perfect for college & special because Allison (& you) made it for him.
I hope your dd had a great time at her competition.
Yes - it is so frustrating... I just knew it had to be user error though, because I didn't have any problems until I bent the needle... Sure, I
could have bent other parts in my machine - but everything is solid metal, so the odds of it are very slim. I knew it had to be something with the needle, I was almost positive... but after changing needle after needle, I was really starting to wonder. Just happy to have it figured out.
We had so much fun!
I think so too... but I am just nervous that it will be too much - ya know? I dunno... Maybe it's just me who thinks that - because I know how much work will go into it. LOL Although - I did give Allison the idea, we don't necessairly have to do a rag quilt... She could easily do one of those tie fleece blanket too - and it would probably have the same effect.

It's a definite idea, and something to consider... Much cheaper, much easier for sure.
I'm glad you figured out what was wrong. It sounds like something I'd do. The needle goes into each of my machines differently so it's easy to get mixed up.
Yesterday we went down to the park since it was such a nice day. On the way my daughter showed me where she works. After that we stopped at the new visitor's center by the canal. They made it very interaction showing how the canal was built and how important it was to the area. We also did some questing which is a cross between geocaching and letterboxing. The park wasn't as busy as it is in the summer but there were a quite a few bicyclists out. Wee were in a different part of the park than usual.
Today is inventory day at work hopefully they're done by the time I get there. The bad thing is that we can't set the mods for the new release movies or games until later on this week after all the counts are verified.
Have a good day.
Liz
I know - me too... Yes, all of my machines are different... So I could blame it on that. LOL I should really know better though - I am just not sure what I was thinking? LOL
It sounds like you had a wonderful day, how fun!!! I love doing things like that!
I hope inventory went well, and it was done by the time you got there.
You too - thanks Liz!
I love rag quilts. My grandmother used to make them all the time on a circa 1910 sewing machine that she restored (and we still have!!) So I guess I have a soft spot for them.
$100 is a lot though, so I understand there. Maybe she could make it smaller - lap size (I used to love a small quilt I had in college. Was easier to drag around when you have a small apartment or dorm room) - or maybe mix in some less expensive solids with the camero fabric? Another thought is that it is just a fun thing to do together! A day at the movies is probably at least $50, so it could be like two movies.
I know - I really want to make one... That is really cool - and wonderful that you have her old machine and a quilt she made from it.
Yes, and this was kind of what I was thinking... I know I asked on FB, and the general concensus there was to do a longer twin size... So, if I do one - I think I will do that. Exactly... That is also what I was thinking too... It's expensive, but relatively, maybe not so much? I"ll see if I can find any good deals on the flannels and solids to go with it... If so, we might just tackle it?
So glad nothing is really wrong with your car. that's scary.
Love your fun day with V. all the pictures are adorable. Looks llike you all had a blast and glad Gus was able to come aboard.
Sorry i will probably be in the minority here but I don't think 100.00 is a lot for a life time of use.
Did i miss Allison's birthday?!?!
Cannot come soon enough Can't wait to see you all!!!
I know - me too...
We had a great time, and it was nice that Gus was able to join us at the end.
No, I don't think it's a lot for a lifetime of use... but then, I run into the whole - will he appreciate the thought and work that would go into it? I think he would - but I am just not sure?
Nope, you didn't - it was yesterday.
I know - I am very excited!!!
I think the quilt is an excellent idea..He will get a lot of use out of it, and it will remind him of Allison every time he sees it.
That's what I was thinking too!
I love quilts and blankets as gifts. I am actually going to do a quick pillowcase for a gift hopefully today.
Awesome! Me too!!! If we do it - I just hope he likes it.
I'm glad you got everything fixed with your machine.
I have NO clue who Lilly Pulitzer is. All I know is that Mark said they were lining up outside his store yesterday morning and that he was ringing up $600 dollars worth of the stuff. And they were sold out in a matter of a couple of hours.
Yes, me too - it's such a relief. Josh was also at his witts end - so he wanted me to take it in... And I said no way... I just knew it was something simple... I would have been mortified if I would have brought it in - and paid $$ for them to tell me my needle was in wrong. LOL
That is crazy!!! We had a few people waiting at our store, but no lines. I am glad I was able to get a few things, it was more than I would like to spend on something like that - but I think I will use everything a lot, as they are fun/key pieces. I tried to be careful about picking something I would actually wear vs. buying just because it was my only opportunity to do so. I do really want to save up and get one of their *real* shift dresses though... They are so expensive, so it would be a big splurge. Although - It would probably be a much smarter decision to get a pair of their shorts - I'd wear those much more often than a dress.
I don't think $100 is a lot for a handmade quilt. However I think between the time and money it comes down to their relationship. If they are serious which it seems they are I think it's a great idea and gift.
Exactly! That's kind of what I was thinking too... They are serious - no doubt about that. But Allison is so young - I just hesitate for that reason alone, ya know? I dunno... Then I was thinking we could do some sort of care package... like bandaids, cold/cough meds - something along those lines... but then, as long as I've known the kid - he's never been sick... So... I am just not sure? We'd like to do something though. Maybe we can save the quilt for Christmas? If they are still together at that time, it might be a better time to give it?
Happy birthday Allison!
So glad you and Patience worked things out. It happens. We're all human!
Loved the pictures of V and you. So good to spend time with your girls.
We have a couple chilly days too and baseball games to sit through. Love watching my son play baseball... but this weather with the wind.... brrrrrr.
Have a good day!
Thanks for your birthday wishes for Allison... I've passes all of them along to her.
Me too!!! It's such a relief!
Thanks!!! We had so much fun together!
I know - yesterday was so weird with the wind/sleet... A horrible weather day for a birthday. We've even managed to turn our furnace back on... Brrr...
Thanks you too!
Happy birthday Allison!!!
Thanks! I've passed along all of your wishes to her.
Thank you!!! I've showed her all of your good wishes.
Happy Birthday Allison
Hope your arm is feeling better.
Can't believe I couldn't get on and how far behind I was. It's been a little crazy here. My mom hurt her leg a month ago, it seemed to bet better but yesterday should could not walk at all. We go her to the ER and to find out she has a bad sprain in her knee and ankle. The annoying part of all this, she refused to go to the doctor. Today she is much better.
We did a trip to Vegas about 2 years ago. I was surprised I actually enjoyed as much as I did. We did stay on the strip. We did the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Red Rock Canyon. Just to name a few things. We are not much of a gambler, as I hate wasting my money, but hey we were in Vegas and I played a few dollars on the slots. The hotels are amazing and some have rides or shows that they put on.
Sorry about your machine. Amazing how one simple mistake can throw things off. Glad you figured it out!
Looks like you and V had a great day together. The pictures you and her are adorable. My daughter and I went on a dinner cruise around Manhattan over the weekend. The views were beautiful, the boat was not, but the food

. Would I do it again, no. Not for what they actually charge. My daughter got the tickets from school so we got a huge discount which included transportation down the City.
I can't believe I miss the LP at Target. I stopped in yesterday too. Will have to check it out when I go back.
How many more days till the puppy comes home?
Have a great day!!
Thanks Lynee... I've passed along your birthday wishes to Allison.
My arm is much better... I still don't know what I did to it - but the swelling is down and it's not painful to the touch at all anymore.
Oh no... I am sorry to hear about your mom... I am glad you were finally able to get her to the Dr. though and she is doing better now. What a relief!
Wow!!! Sounds like Vegas might actually be fun... I would love to do Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon... Something to consider for sure. Thanks!
I know - I am so glad I got it figured out... It took me long enough though. LOL If I would have taken the time to look at the end of my needle - not the flat part that gets inserted, but the eye - I would have figured it out.... But I didn't until the end there. Oh well.
We did have a great time. Bummer about your cruise - sad that you won't do that again. but I am sure you enjoyed your time together.
I am not sure that any Target stores have any of the LP merchandise left? I know most stores sold out with in hours - some within minutes of opening. I was surprised we had any left at all. I sure hope that Target collaborates with LP again - it was fun.
The puppy will be here in - um - 10 days!!! YIKES!!!! It's sneaking up on me... I have not done a bit of puppy proofing yet. I better get on that!!!
You too!!! Thanks so much for stopping in and catching up - as always, it's great to see you!
Happy Birthday Allison!!!
Thank you Suzi!
Happy 17th Birthday, Allison.
Thank you Kathy!
Thank you!
Also wanted to add, Happy Birthday Allison!
Thank you Ashley!
Thank you Lillian!
Happy Birthday Allison!
As for the blanket/throw for a present - Gus is obviously as much a part of the family - Max would go with him I'm sure.
Thank you Ruth!
Yes... I am just so conflicted about this. It was a great idea - but a lot of work. I am still thinking on it, and maybe we will do another kind of blanket? We'll see... Something a little less expensive and time consuming? But - Gus is MM's favorite human - so no doubt that MM would follow him anywhere. LOL
************************************************************************************
First off, Allison wanted me to thank you all for the nice birthday wishes... That was so very nice of all of you.
I had a good day at Target, but as usual - I was happy to have it over.
After, both girls met me at work, and I treated us to Starbucks... Sigh. I think I need to give it up completely.
We went home and got ready for dinner...
Gus met us here, and Josh arrived home from work at about the same time. We all rode together to Allison's birthday dinner. BFF and O met us there.
She chose to eat at Burger Jones... One of our favorite burger places.
A few pictures from last night...
All of us...
Olivia and V...
Then Gus and Allison...
Overall - I think she had a great birthday. She was able to spend it with all of her favorite people. Our gift to her is that I am taking her on a shopping spree on Sunday after work... So, she is really looking forward to that.

So am I - it will be a lot of fun, and it will give us some one on one time together too.
Again - thank you for all of the birthday wishes for Allison.
I did get new Cooper pictures yesterday... I think this first one is a bit older, because I think the puppies are totally weened now, and he looks pretty small here.
This next one cracks me up... Look at the carpet on those stairs!!! They were NOT like that when we were out visiting the puppies a few weeks ago. Looks like one (or all) of the puppies has a taste for carpeted stairs? LOL Thankfully - all of our stairs/carpet will be gated off for a few months.

Anyways... Cooper is on the far left. They are getting so big!!!
Today... I will be working out this morning - Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred...
Then I will be appliqueing all day.
As far as I know - no errands to run, so I can just work all day long. It would be nice if I could finish this bag today, but we'll see - the applique is pretty difficult.
Nothing else new or exciting.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers and Pixie Dust to all!
D~
