~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

I have started to collect the Starbucks mugs of each park. I really like them, I will get the Ak one in April and the Epcot one in August. I liked those sunglasses, aviator style. Have a nice weekend.

I did do my WATP yesterday morning again - being very cautious of my knee. I also did my ab work out after. My knee seems to be doing much better
That's great to hear. I hope your knee gets better and better every day.
I will spend the day helping Josh with the banquet set up... V will be with us, as well. It should be a fun day. :lovestruc
Enjoy, sounds like a great day!
The girls are on spring break starting yesterday... I am also "off" in my sewing room this week...
I hope you and the girls all have a nice break. Everyone deserves one!::yes::

Phew trying to get caught up around here. You are sure busy and I love the updates!! You really doing great with the workouts and eating...seriously give yourself a break!! That chicken/veggies/thing with parmesan looked so good.

Sigh - crowns sound like something for a much older person. LOL

This just made me laugh because, maybe I have crappy teeth lol but I got my first crown at age like 20...and now in my early 40's...I have 3 implants...now THAT is something I always thought of for a seriously older person but sigh...I have them now... so do not fear the crown lol you must have great teeth to have gone this long without one!

Hope your knee is improving. It's no fun when you commit to exercise and then you get an injury.

Love your Halloween bag--really cute (as they all are!)

I like the sunglasses, good luck with the hunt.

I'm actually thinking my trip might happen. Things have been crazy at work, but I think I have coverage so yea! I mentioned the trip to DH (yes, I have to find the right timing too). His response, "We were just there". Sigh. Well, I'm going to make it happen--biggest obstacle was work. I told DH he was invited and welcome, but I don't think timing is good for him and work. DS mentioned again that he wants to go somewhere before his summer job starts (lifeguarding) so my trip is perfect timing. I'm really hoping/looking forward to just me and DS. I loved reading about your trip with Allison, and it sounds like great bonding time. DS just started college, so these opportunities are limited!

Thank you - it seems to be getting better progressively... I am not ready to run at all yet... but walking seems to be doing OK. I've gone 2 days now with almost no pain - and yesterday was crazy with the banquet, so I am just thankful that there has been progress. ::yes::

Thank you so much - I am very excited to carry it!

Thanks... I went back to Lenscrafters yesterday after our eye appointments, because I'd found a similar style by the same brand that they do carry - but sadly, they were discontinued and out everywhere, so they couldn't order them in for me. I"ll be watching their site closely over the next few weeks - and if anything does pop up that is similar - I'll be running in there to get them. Otherwise, I will have to decide if I just want to get new glasses this year and wait on sunglasses for next year. :scratchin

This is very exciting! :woohoo: How awesome that you may get to do a trip alone with your son... Have you done one before (sorry, my memory isn't great... LOL) And LOL about your DH - mine admitted yesterday that he's "given up" on my Disney trips. :scratchin Not sure what that means? But maybe it means he understands that we both have things we love and we should enjoy doing them? LOL A girl can hope. I sure hope you are able to take this trip with your ds... I assume you'll stay at SoG? I am so in love with that resort right now - the price and convenience are certainly prime! :lovestruc

Hehehe... Did you see my mini-collection? Hmmmm..... I think I have a photo here somewhere? I'd purchased the ornaments when I was on the trip with Suzi & Bradey in November, because I knew I couldn't get any more full sized mugs into the house... The ornaments were a good "consolation prize"... I love them, I have them displayed in the window above my sink, and it makes me so happy to see them every time I look up. :lovestruc

20151114_222459.jpg

Have fun collecting the mugs - they are really fun and it's just neat to have them. For full size - I only have the Twin Cities mug... I've debated getting some of the other Cities I've visited - but they are just such large mugs. LOL Typically - I drink out of smaller ones. Now, if they made all of the City mugs in ornaments - I'd totally buy those. ::yes::

Thanks - I really like them too - I just hope now I am able to find them... Sometimes (many times) I get something in my brain, and I have a hard time getting it out. So, we'll see. ::yes::

That's great to hear. I hope your knee gets better and better every day.

Enjoy, sounds like a great day!

I hope you and the girls all have a nice break. Everyone deserves one!:

Thanks - I am relieved, I was really worried about it for those first few days - but it seems to be doing well, as long as I am careful and don't over do it.

Thanks - it was a nice and busy day. :lovestruc

Thanks- we are looking forward to it. ::yes::

I always love your reports!!

Awww... Thank you - welcome! :lovestruc

Hi there! I hope you are doing well?

Thanks - I am trying... I have some days that are much better than others - but lately, the better ones are outweighing the not so good ones, so that's a good thing. :)

Yes - I will be eating that for lunch today - and I am looking forward to it, it's been over a week since I've had it.

LOL... Sorry... I am pretty nervous about it - and even moreso that ever since the dentist worked on it - I am having a lot of nerve pain when I chew - so I am worried that I may be forced into the crown - which is not what I want right now. I am hoping to get by with one more filling before I go to a crown on this one. I don't think I have great teeth - but I could be wrong? LOL

I hope you have a great weekend! :lovestruc

********************************************************************************************

Yesterday was a bit crazy, but fun though....

It started off with the girls and I going to our eye exams... V went with to see if her sunglasses were in (they weren't)... Both Allison and I had great exams... Our prescriptions changed slightly - but not enough to warrant new glasses if we didn't want them.

The girls and I went to Chipotle after, to meet Josh for lunch - but it was crazy there, so we told him that we'd just order for him and bring his lunch to the banquet hall - so he didn't have to navigate the dumb parking lot with his truck full of supplies and not much visibility... This worked out well.

So, after - we brought him his lunch... And since we were right near the mall - I asked if Allison and I could run over to Lens Crafters quick, so we could see if she could find anything she liked and I could see if they could order in a different pair of frames I found - same style/brand/shape as the ones at Target. Allison found a really cute pair of Ray Bans - brown ones... So, we ordered those for her... The total was $493... But after our insurance, I paid $43 for them. Not too bad for new glasses. I do like our eye insurance... If only our dental insurance offering was as good - we'd have dental too... Oh well. Sadly - the frames I'd found were discontinued and we couldn't order them in from anywhere. I've decided to hold off on new glasses for a few weeks - just to see if they get anything in new for summer in the style I like.

Allison dropped me off at the banquet... And I worked my tail off all night at the registration table... Then later, dealing with all of the cash taken in... There were a few of us working there, and we all seemed to work well together. It was a long and busy day/night for all of us - starting at about 1pm and going non-stop until about 11pm... But it was good and fun. Thankfully clean up went really easy and we were out of there about an hour after the banquet ended - so that was really nice and much shorter than I was anticipating.

We came home and dropped like flies... LOL We were all exhausted.

Today - I don't have many plans... I am going to lay low and eat right (dinner last night wasn't so great for me)... And I will work upstairs for a while. I am also going to try to get a nice walk in today.

I hope you all have a great day! :woohoo: Prayers and pixie dust to all! :grouphug:

D~

I do have 2 small cavities to fill in the near future - plus my suggested crown tooth to take care of too... It just sounds like a lot of $$ to me... ::yes::
That sounds like a lot of $$. I hope it's cheaper than you think.

osh made home made jambalaya for dinner last night - that was delicious and hit the spot. He was so considerate, thinking of me, and how hard I've been working at taking off this size I've gained... He asked if I'd make the rice on the side, so we could individually add it to our bowls. :lovestruc It wasn't until we were almost going to sit down to eat - I remembered that I had some riced cauliflower in the fridge - which I could substitute for the rice - because I was totally planning to have a little bit of rice... This little swap out made my nutrition spot on for yesterday - which made me happy. :woohoo:
How nice of Josh thinking of you and how hard you've been working at taking off the size you gained. :lovestruc Sounds like a good meal.

Sounds like you had a good day/night helping out at the banquet.

I have no plans for the weekend. Ulf woke up on Saturday not feeling good. He has a sore throat and he thought he had a fever. I woke up with a sore throat as well, but other than that I feel good.

You have great eye insurance. How lucky to pay $43 for your glasses. We don't have either eye insurance or dental, and it is dental that we tend to spend the most money on. DH has terrible teeth. And crowns are expensive.

It sounds like a very rewarding evening. Those feel good things are fun and you deserve to get lots of rest today. ;)

I am sad because I lost my FitBit - Flex. I could tell from the steps log that I made it to the train after work on Friday but I don't have any steps after that. I've searched the house and car just in case but I think it fell off on the train when I reached down to get my bag. I really liked my FitBit because it was a great motivator. I might upgrade to the more expensive FitBit so that it can't fall off my wrist like the Flex did. Actually, that was the first time it accidentally fell off since I got it back in March. :(

What great insurance savings. Ray Bans are really nice!

Glad you and the family had fun at the banquet. Enjoy your Sunday!:goodvibes

Wow! You have amazing eye insurance. I thought I got a steal last year when I purchased my new glasses - they were $350 and I paid $100. I'm glad Allison found a pair she likes. I detest shopping for eye glasses because I have such a round face and I think nothing looks right. I usually find a pair or two that work but nothing I'm ever in love with.

I think I need to join your family. I love Chipotle but no one else in my family is a fan. Every once in awhile DH will go just to make me happy but usually when I suggest it everyone in my family grumbles. You guys go a lot and I'm jealous! LOL!

I hope you have a nice, relaxing day. It sounds like you need it after your busy day yesterday.

I assume you'll stay at SoG? I am so in love with that resort right now - the price and convenience are certainly prime! :lovestruc
I have a reservation for POFQ for the entire trip (room only) and I also have reserved SoG for a few days at the end of the trip. I will probably cancel SoG because I didn't get in on one of the deals (I just found out you have to call for the special prices, and I booked online). I'm really looking forward to POFQ's small size and beignets! I would love your input on Bldg 6. I think it is perfect location for close to POR and transporation while still having a quiet factor. Let me know why you liked it so much!

The ornaments were a good "consolation prize"
Love the ornaments. We only have one Starbucks mug from Heidelberg, GE because a friend is living over there and I asked her to send me one since DS was born there!

Thankfully clean up went really easy
That's good, since clean-up is usually the worst being at the end of the night when everyone wants to slip out before it's done!

I haven't had just a trip with DS and I, which is why I'm really excited. He keeps talking about different trips he could take before his summer job starts, so this is perfect timing--he's finished with school and pools aren't open until the weekend after we return.

I hope so too!

Thanks - I had a great day yesterday, and I am prepared for a great day today too. :lovestruc Thanks for cheering me on Lillian!

I did enjoy helping out - it was a lot of fun, as it is every year.

Oh no - I hope both you and Ulf are feeling better!

Yes - we are very lucky to have great eye insurance... And our health insurance isn't too bad either... It would be nice to have dental too - but oh well, I guess a person just can't have everything - and thankfully - our medical does cover *some* of our dental - it's very little, and very questionable as to which procedures they cover, but it's better than nothing. I am certain our medial won't cover anything of my crown - but we still haven't heard back from insurance with the estimate - so I don't know for sure yet.

It was a fun and rewarding evening. I always enjoy working at the banquet. :lovestruc

Oh no Sue!!! That is terrible! I am so sad for you that you lost your Fitbit! At least you kind-of know where you lost it, so you know that you probably won't have much luck if you were to look for it. I know that you used it all of the time, so I hope you are able to find one you like... They do make those little straps to go over the band, so it's harder to lose. :scratchin Is there any chance it could have fallen off in your bag?

What great insurance savings. Ray Bans are really nice!

Glad you and the family had fun at the banquet. Enjoy your Sunday!

Yes - I do love our eye insurance... And the fact that we get new glasses every year - that's nice too. Hopefully I am able to find a pair I like, then we will all be done for the year. ::yes::

Yes - we did have a lot of fun - thank you! :)

That is still really good for eye insurance. I was surprised at how quickly Allison found a pair - they are just like all of our other ones, but her's are a tortoise shell color - they are very cute on her. I have a hard time finding glasses too - because my cheeks rise up so much when I smile... I prefer my frames to be smaller - which is why I really liked those aviators - they weren't the traditional tear drop shape - they were more flat at the bottom. ::yes::

Hahaha... You are welcome to join us any time. We usually eat there a few times per week - I don't know why we never get sick of it - but we don't. :scratchin It's just one of the few places I allow myself to eat out at, since I know that the food there is organic and there's very little bad stuff in it... And since I've managed to get my favorite bowl under 500 calories - that helps too. :woohoo:

Thanks - I hope you had a nice day too and enjoyed your weekend. :lovestruc

It sounds like you have a good plan for this trip. Calling in for discounts at SoG must be a new thing? As I was able to get mine booking online - but the offter I had is no longer valid. Keep checking the SoG website though - their deals are always changing.

Well - I love bldg 6, because if you look at it - there are really no bad rooms or views... There is no chance of getting a parking lot view at all. And I like where the elevator is - if you look at the building maps, many of the elevators are at the back of the bldg - so it's a hike to get there if you need one. Building 6's elevator is right on that front corner towards the food court. And if your room location isn't too badly located - it's not too bad of a hike to the buses because you can go through building 4. ::yes:: We've had room #6220 twice - and that was the perfect location for us. I hope you are able to figure out which building you prefer - it's really a great resort! ::yes::

That is really cool! I didn't realize they had the mugs at overseas Starbucks too! :) Maybe Allison will start her own collection while she is over there? :scratchin

Yes - that's what I expected... Since we were taking everything home with us - I figured we'd be stuck with the mess... But everyone helped and we were out of there so quickly. I also think that people were packing up as the night went on, so clean up was even easier. Plus the banquet hall took care of all of the tables and dishes - so that was something we didn't have to worry about at all. :woohoo:

That is just going to be a super fun trip for both of you! How exciting and perfect timing! :lovestruc

**********************************************************************************************

Well... I did nothing yesterday... Pretty pathetic.

I went back upstairs to bed, and slept for an hour. I got up and went for a walk. Then I came home and had lunch. I took a long nap in my recliner. Josh made steaks on the grill for dinner - they were delicious. Then I went to bed early. The only thing I actually accomplished yesterday, was my walk. LOL I did have a good eating day though - it's hard to eat when you are sleeping. ::yes::

Today is a Target day... I am a little nervous about working there today - with my knee. I am going to brace it up good and be very cautious.

Victoria has a dentist appointment this afternoon for a cleaning... So, I will come home from work, pick her up and go right back to town. By the end of the week - we will all be caught up on cleanings. :thumbsup2

Hopefully I can sneak into my sewing room for a few minutes between Target and the dentist, to finish up last week's custom order. :scratchin

Otherwise - I have nothing else interesting or exciting going on today... This week will be very boring for updates - I suspect. :thumbsup2

I hope you all have a great day!!! Pixie Dust to all! :grouphug:

I took everything out of my bag and the FitBit wasn't there. :( I carry a backpack because it is so much easier to carry long distances than a shoulder bag. The only compartment that I had open was the little outside one for my phone. So I am pretty sure that the Fitbit fell off when I reached down to put my phone in the outside pocket. My daughter was riding the train with me because she was in town for a conference at McCormick Place, so we were chatting away. It wasn't my normal train or my normal routine and my FitBit never fell off before, so it was just a whole set of unusual circumstances.

I found another FitBit Flex online. I also found some colored straps that buckle on like a belt and those little straps that I can use for the strap that comes with the Fitbit. I like the cheaper fFlex, it did what I wanted it to do, so I'm buying another one instead of upgrading. Then I will have two chargers, which will be handy. But I'll check lost and found at the train station in a few days before I buy the new one, just in case.

Boring days are not a bad thing! And neither a restful days! I'm glad you had a day to rest and recharge and relax yesterday. Steak sounds wonderful....I may have to add that to our menu this week.

I hope your knee is ok today.

What's your favorite bowl and Chipotle and how do you keep it under 500 calories? I love the steak bowl...I usually get rice, black beans, steak, pico de gallo (or whatever they call their tomato stuff), corn salsa, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. I'm sure the sour cream and guacamole are high in calories...and I need to switch to brown rice instead of white rice.

That's great you had a relaxing day! I did the same yesterday. It's always nice to do that once in a while!::yes::

Enjoy the day!:goodvibes

It's nice to have a down day after a hectic weekend so ENJOY it!!!

Glad you don't need new glasses. Really need to get to the eye doc. My glasses are too big. keep falling off my nose! LOL...

Adore the starbucks mugs!

Boring days are sometimes THE BEST days!!! Yesterday all we did was move new furniture in and old furniture out. My back is so sore from carrying drawers around and trying to maneuver down our stairs with oversized dressers. Blah!!! I am very jealous of your lazy day :)

I can't wait to start my Spring Break (teacher perk!) this Wednesday...after I survive the whole day of Parent-Teacher Conferences, that is!!!

D~, I am glad the banquet went well for you all. No picture for us this year? Oh well, I know you were busy.

I keep telling my girls we will go and get prescription sunglasses for them, too. With Brian's new job, we switched insurance right after getting them new glasses on his old company plan. We still have their prescriptions, so we will be able to get new sunglasses on the new plan without another eye exam. We just need to make the time to do it soon!

On another note altogether, I know you got an AP for your trips this year. Can you help answer a few questions about getting an AP? How does it work to have a family room and ticket package when one family member has an AP and does not need the tickets? I am considering getting an AP while I am there in July. Won't this save us on our October trip? What is the cost breakdown? Will the price of my four day tickets in July be discounted from the cost of the AP?

I hope your day at Target goes well :)
I hope V's dentist appointment goes well.

Ulf and I are feeling a little better, thanks :)
I went to the store today to buy candy, not because it was cheap but because I wanted some for the Easter weekend. They had 35.27oz candy for $0.60 it normally cost $1.79 for 35.27oz and the shelves were almost empty. I can't believe people are still going nuts buying all this candy after 3 weeks with this low price. I'll try again on Wednesday. I hope I have some better luck then.

How does it work to have a family room and ticket package when one family member has an AP and does not need the tickets? I am considering getting an AP while I am there in July. Won't this save us on our October trip? What is the cost breakdown? Will the price of my four day tickets in July be discounted from the cost of the AP?

Here is how you use the 4 day ticket to upgrade to an AP:

The way to do it is the use the ticket at least once, then go to guest relations or a ticket booth and have them upgrade it to an annual pass. They will give you the current price of a 4 day ticket and that amount will be subtracted from the cost of an AP. Then you can use the AP in October.

cost of annual pass -$797.69
cost of 4 day ticket - $346.13
your cost to upgrade to an AP - $451.56

As far as your October trip goes, buying an annual pass will only work if you have a room only reservation since everyone on a package has to have the same ticket, including you. You would have to book a room only reservation and then buy tickets separately. If you booked your October package before the tickets went up in price, then changing your package could result in having to pay the higher ticket price.

I think I may have a Tervis problem too... ::yes::

Sounds like you need to put alarms on them! I hope you find your Villains one.

I always find - it's not the actual bad food event that determines my success - it's what I do after that, that does.

This is exactly what derails me every time. I need to get past it.

The total was $493... But after our insurance, I paid $43 for them.

Wow that is some awesome vision insurance! I'm jealous. I need to get new glasses & contacts but right now, I don't have vision insurance at all. Even with my last job's insurance plan, my glasses were over $300 because my eyesight is so bad. I'm totally dreading going to the eye doctor but I do't have much of a choice at this point. I'm completely out of contacts & my glasses are losing the anti-glare coating so it's getting harder to see out of them.

I'm glad your knee is feeling better. Hope the uphill progress continues!
