They Should Really Put a Bar in Here - Closing Thoughts - 4/1

DW tried to get DS to go to sleep.

You packed Ny-Quil, right?

I will add that I know it has to be difficult to monitor this with as many people as there were around the pool that day, but I was shocked to see some kids sitting around tables at the pool drinking that I’m not sure had a driver’s license, let alone an ID saying they were 21. I’m sure the bar checks IDs so it had to be parents that were supplying them.

Stay classy, folks!

BiL told me not to. He went on to say that when we got back, Sis was asleep, so he decided to go for a swim. He headed over to the Cabanas village pool and there was nobody in there. He said he’d just got in the water when all of a sudden about 20 cheerleaders came out and got in the pool. He said he got out and headed back to the room, because he didn’t feel too comfortable being the lone adult in a pool with a bunch of unsupervised tween girls. :headache:

Man, there is just no escape! :faint:

I noticed some football players using a hammock to practice their goal line rushing skills. They were taking turns taking handoffs and jumping over the hammock. I won’t lie. I was tempted to grab it and pull it tight as they hurdled it.

:rotfl::rotfl2:

DS woke up after a little while and I figured it would be best to get him out of the room before he could wake DD up. The pool seemed to be off limits, and I didn’t really want to go back to the Dig Site, so I came up with a new plan. It was only a little after 4pm, so I asked DS if he wanted to go ride a few rides. I woke DW up to tell her that we were heading to MK.

Excellent idea.:thumbsup2

When we got inside the park, I noticed that some additions had been made to the Main Street area that we’d been missing up to that point in time. The tree and garland were finally up!

:woohoo::cool1: Someday I'll get to see that.

DS was requesting the elephant ride, but the Fantasyland area had closed at 3pm to get ready for their press event. Instead, I thought we might head for another ride he’d been asking to ride most of the we, Tomorrowland Speedway.

This decision is usually made in a "let's get it overwith" manner.

I let him steer for a little bit, but he didn’t like it too much when we’d hit the center rail and it would jerk the wheel out of his hands so I had to help him.

Huh. I never noticed that before. Always such a smooth ride. Maybe you had a bum car.

We got into the cars and headed for a resort that is a favorite of myself and DW, Wilderness Lodge.[/QUOET]

:woohoo::cool1: Everyone loves the WL! Well, except Kathy. But she's wrong. :rotfl:

They sat us at a big round table way off in the back of the restaurant. In a way, it was disappointing, because we were separated from the rest of the main dining area.

That stinks. Obviously your family needed to be contained.

Our server was Lazy Susan. She was fantastic. Both times we’ve been at WCC our service has been wonderful. Our server from last year was actually taking care of another table near ours in the back section of the restaurant. We stopped to say hi to her on our way out. I’m sure she didn’t remember us, but we definitely remembered her.

:thumbsup2

She came back with our milkshakes, and when she put a chocolate shake down in front of BiL, he looked at her and in a whiny voice said “It isn’t orange.” She looked shocked and then asked if he ordered orange. He told her he ordered chocolate. She proceeded to scold him for messing with her.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I'm starting to think I would enjoy traveling with your BiL.

She asked us what meats we wanted, and we’d been discussing this one since we got there. We all agreed on the beef and the ribs, but we couldn’t all agree on the third meat choice. I told Lazy Susan and asked her for her opinion. She said she’d surprise us.

 So how was the raccoon meat?

Lazy Susan brought us our check and she had a couple of surprises for DS and DD. She had a light up Tinkerbell clip and a light up Buzz Lightyear clip for them.

:cool1: This meal just keeps getting better!

We settled up and since we were seated in the back of the restaurant, we just went down those steps and headed down to see if we could catch the geyser’s 10 pm eruption. And here is an excellent, high quality cell phone picture of it…

The lighting, the composition...Bravo! Ansel Adams' estate is calling, and they'd like you to come train them in the ways of the master.

Actually, this photo is still better than 50% of the stuff I see in art museums.

I know, I know... we just have different tastes in resorts, apparently.

:sad2: I think you know where I side.

BiL is even more of a smart --- than I am. It can get interesting sometimes.

How is that possible?!

You packed Ny-Quil, right?
I can neither confirm nor deny...

Stay classy, folks!
:drinking1

Man, there is just no escape!
They were literally everywhere. Seriously, if you ever book a trip and find out your resort is being used for some cheerleader event, change resorts.

Excellent idea.:thumbsup2
Everybody has one of those from time to time.

Someday I'll get to see that.
I hope so. You'll love it!

This decision is usually made in a "let's get it overwith" manner.
Well, that kind of played into it. We were the only ones there so nobody would have to wait around for us, and I knew in just the short time we had we wouldn't be getting much done anyway so we might as well do it instead of wasting valuable park time later in the week.

Huh. I never noticed that before. Always such a smooth ride. Maybe you had a bum car.
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

:woohoo::cool1: Everyone loves the WL! Well, except Kathy. But she's wrong. :rotfl:
I know... she likes the Bears and Cubs and hates WL. I just don't get it. :confused3 :rolleyes1

That stinks. Obviously your family needed to be contained.
That must be it. I wouldn't trust us either.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I'm starting to think I would enjoy traveling with your BiL.
It is usually fun, and often borderline out of control.

I'm not even going to talk about the time we got banned from the Texas Roadhouse in Lafayette, IN... :rolleyes1

So how was the raccoon meat?
So that's what it was... well, apparently it was pretty good. :thumbsup2

This meal just keeps getting better!
::yes::

The lighting, the composition...Bravo! Ansel Adams' estate is calling, and they'd like you to come train them in the ways of the master.

Thanks... I think. :lmao:

:sad2: I think you know where I side.
::yes::

How is that possible?!
I don't know, but it keeps things interesting.

Where (or when) do you think that originated?
I have no idea. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Wow, that resort sounds chaotic. You've definitely convinced me to stay away from any place hosting the Pop Warner crowd this year. Exploring the resort grounds and swimming are two of my favorite ways to enjoy some downtime, and I'd go nuts having cheerleaders swarm every available pool. :crazy2:

And a note on the kids at the pool with drinks...I know when I traveled with my family as a mid-teenager, my mom would always get me a virgin drink. I just liked the taste of the pina colada and daiquiri. Not saying it was the case here, but maybe the parents just got them glorified smoothies. :confused3

It's great that you got a little father-son time at the MK, and I'll have to tell my DH about the diaper in the cargo shorts trick. I'm sure he'll be using that with our DS in order to avoid a stroller and bag. ::yes::

Your dinner sounds like it was fun and relaxing. It's nice when you get a good server that'll go along with your antics and provide great service. :thumbsup2

All those tweens and teens sound SO annoying! Yikes!

Beautiful picture of the WL tree! I just love how they decorate for Christmas there. It's awesome.

Sorry you got a crappy table at dinner. The ketchup antics and the stick horse races are a huge part of the fun. Even if the food is good, its fun to feel like you are part of it. Thank goodness for a great waitress.

Glad you sister could find something to eat and that she was starting to feel better from her gluten assault.

I will never make that mistake again...

Well, I did give the benefit of the doubt at first for that very reason, but I've never seen a bottle of virgin Bud Light. :rotfl2:

Well, it wouldn't work too well for a full day, but if you just need to go a couple of hours, it does the trick!

It was great! I've always been pleased with our service there!

It made me wish I'd packed a rum supply like you did. :rotfl2:

Yeah, we were a little disappointed to miss out on some of that stuff, but it turned out great. Our server spent quite a bit of time with us and the interaction with her more than made up for it!

Glad you sister could find something to eat and that she was starting to feel better from her gluten assault.
Yes, it was good that she was finally getting back to normal. When you only have a few days, it would be torture to be stuck in the room.

Test Tron

Thursday, Dec 6

We woke up a little bit earlier than normal this morning. We had decided that we didn’t want to go to MK on the day that the new Fantasyland officially opened, and we hadn’t been to EPCOT at all yet so for some reason, my planning had us going to EPCOT on the day of the official grand opening of the new Test Track and an EMH morning. We had no problems getting ready and getting out the door in time. We all knew the plan was going to be to get to the park early and ride Test Track first thing. Dad wasn’t sure he wanted to ride TT and Sis still wasn’t sure how ready she was for rides, so they chose to stay behind and meet us at the park later. The rest of us piled into our Tahoe, and we might have borrowed a trick from Barry and stashed a couple of people in the cargo area. We were at the park just a few minutes after they opened up for EMH.

We made our way directly to Test Track. I grabbed everyone’s KTTW cards to get FP’s and we went to the standby line to get a rider swap pass. I love Test Track and I was really excited to ride it, but I chose to stay with the kids and let everyone else go first. I guess in a way, I kind of wanted to investigate the area and see the post ride area just as a little bit more of a teaser before I rode. I grabbed the FP’s and walked around taking some pictures.

At the time we were there, they weren’t posting wait times for TT yet. Even getting there that early, the CM told us when they got in the Standby line that it would be a half hour wait. It was probably pretty accurate because it was 40 minutes from the time they got in line until they came out of the post ride. I had checked out the post ride area and was walking around when I got a text from DW asking me to get her something to eat. In our efforts to leave the room early, she chose to sleep a little longer and skip breakfast, so I went off to the coffee/pastry cart that sits over near the walkway to the Energy pavilion.

I went to sit down on a bench and let DS get out of the stroller and run around a little bit, when a guy came walking over towards us with a dog. Now, I understand that service dogs can be used for a variety of things, but this dog certainly didn’t look or act like any service dog I’ve ever seen. It was some type of terrier and it was hyper. DS instantly saw the dog, and apparently, his noticing the dog was an invitation to this guy to come over and show the dog off and tell us about how the dog got worn out walking around Animal Kingdom all day yesterday and how it likes to sleep in the passenger seat of the car, but it wakes up and barks every time he stops… or something like that. I’ve gotta say, the guy was giving off a little bit of a creepy vibe and I just wanted him to go away. After what seemed like an eternity, the dog spotted somebody he knew and they were off. I saw them again later in the day and the guy was carrying the dog around. I didn’t think any dogs other than service dogs were allowed in the parks, but I wasn’t about to ask what service this one provided. I really didn’t want to give him an opening for more conversation.

Anyway… I finally saw DW come out the exit of TT, so we went to join them. She came to sit with the kids and eat breakfast while BiL, Sis2 and I headed in to use our Rider Swap pass. This is when I learned that I screwed up bad.:faint: By letting everyone else ride Standby while I looked around, I missed out on the design studio. Sure, there are design consoles for FP and Single Rider, but you only get to pick which of the design aspects (efficiency, power, capability, etc) is most important to you and then you pick a pre-designed car. A two step process, that’s it. We did get a nice overhead look at the design studio from the FP line though… just another teaser I guess.

8263312577_f74c6bd166.jpg

And a couple of engines on a display in the FP line… Sorry for the blur, the line was moving that fast, and I was too eager to get on the ride to actually stop for a picture.

The design part is the one thing I’d most been looking forward to about the new Test Track. I was extremely disappointed that I would be missing out on it for my first 2 rides. It became my personal mission to ensure that I get back over to ride standby at some point during this trip!

While we were waiting BiL told me about the car he designed the first time around. He was telling me about the different things he tried and changed on it. The last step is where you can add different things to make it look the way you want. Things like flames, racing stripes, etc. Well, apparently as the timer was ticking down in the final few seconds of the design process, Sis2 reached over and put stars on his car and he didn’t have time to change it.:rotfl2::lmao: It isn’t a great one, but Mom did grab a picture of it.

8451154342_eaa6626f94.jpg

It wasn’t long at all before we loaded into a car and we were on our way. I have to say, I was thrilled to be on one of my favorite rides, but once I rode it, I was a little bit disappointed with the ride experience. I love the new theming they have in place, I love the queue, the design studio, and the post ride area, but the ride itself just fell a bit flat to me. Overall, I think the new attraction is a better experience, but I guess maybe I just had higher expectations for more upgrades in the on-ride part. The fact that it was just the same track with a different overlay didn’t really surprise me, but I guess I was somehow expecting something a little bit more impressive:confused3. I made the comment as we were on it that it felt like we were in Tron and I expected a Light Cycle to come flying past us.

We got off the ride, and BiL and I went to play with some of the toys in the post ride area. We went to the station where you can drive your car on a video screen. There seemed to be some issues, because I tapped my RFID card on 2 or 3 different stations before I found one that worked. On that same topic, when you get in your car, there is an RFID reader before you board the ride that you can put your card up to and that is how your design is attached to your ride vehicle. That reader wouldn’t pick up my design either, not that it really mattered, since I didn’t technically get to design a vehicle anyway.

We came back outside, and saw that Dad and Sis had found Mom and DW. Mom and DW were content to stay and play with the kids, and after explaining that the ride is the same as the old Test Track, but now without the rough road tests, Dad and Sis decided they’d try it and took Mom and DW’s FPs.

That’s all I have to say about Test Track at the moment, but I did write a review of it for Disdads.com when I got back. I posted the link on the first page of the TR, but if you missed it and are interested, here it is again.

When we finished our ride, we wanted to head over to get Soarin’ FPs, but thought we should let DS ride something. We decided to make a brief detour to Spaceship Earth on the way across the park.

8451161764_dfda6a5e92.jpg

This must be the “put the camera away” look.

8451162106_ce58bb8c8c.jpg

We finally got over to the Land pavilion and BiL and I grabbed the KTTW cards to head in and grab FP’s. The plan was for everyone else to park the stroller and head over to the Seas. As I was getting FP’s I got a text from DW saying the wait for Nemo was 45 min. DD had fallen asleep so she was going to wait with the stroller while everyone else was heading in to ride Living With the Land. I tried to call and question her about the wait for Nemo, but by the time I got the text, I saw Sis2 and DS heading down the stairs already. Oh well…

We got on a boat with very little wait and enjoyed our tour of the green houses. We headed back outside and went over to Nemo to brave the wait.

It was a walk on.

I asked DW if the CM might have said the wait was four-to-five minutes instead of for-ty-five minutes?:rolleyes1 I don’t think she was too amused. We finally found the elusive clown fish and headed in to the aquariums.

Now here is the part that made me nervous. My sisters both love animals. A lot. They both studied animal science in school and Sis2 is in the process of trying to go back to school to study veterinary medicine. I enjoy the aquarium, but anytime there is an opportunity to see animals it can take forever to get my sisters to move on. I enjoy seeing and watching the animals, but I have a limited attention span for it, and the longer they linger the shorter my attention span gets. I mean, once you see a manatee float across the tank 5 or 6 times and eat a couple of pieces of lettuce, it is time to move on. It is an impressive animal, but you’ve seen what it does. It ain’t gonna get out of the water and start talking to you. I guess having grown up going on vacations with them is why I’m not quite as impressed by Animal Kingdom as some people.:confused3

Thankfully, they didn’t take near as long as I expected before they were ready to go. I was shocked.

And it still wasn’t even quite time to use our Soarin’ FPs so we’d have to find something else to kill some time.

Wow, I was 2 updates behind. Strong work!

UGH UGH UGH on the Pop Warner fiasco. All I know is that when I was a cheerleader we certainly never got to do anything like that. Not fair. Not fair to my HS self and not fair to your family, ousted of everywhere. I am really glad I read about this here and on Kathy's TR as a friend had asked me to help her plan a trip and thanks to your dueling horror stories I was able to isloate when they'd be there, that it did overlap their trip and tell them where not to stay. :thumbsup2

Neat though that you had that alone time with DS, those are always fun memories. Lovely evening at WL/WCC, great end to the day despite the frustrating resort time.

I am :rotfl: about your sister putting stars on your BIL's car. That is a riot! I'm going to need to strategize that ride, DH will want to design as well and we will be there at ridiculous crowd level times.

Four to Five....forty five :lmao:

I would not have been amused with you either.

Nice update, Andy. Sorry you didn't get to experience the "whole" thing when you went (I didn't realize that the fast pass line is different).

I guess it must be a guy thing because Nicki and I just weren't impressed with the whole "build your own car" thing (I do know that Todd enjoyed it as he is into cars...he's currently looking for a new Corvette to replace the one he got three years ago).

Love your wife and DD's matching shirts...very cute.

And your son looks thrilled that he is getting to do an attraction.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: for your wife and the Nemo thing. That is so something that Mark would do.

My husband is very much like your sister. I'm really not sure why he did NOT become a Veterinarian or something...the man is animal crazy. We stood and looked at that manatee for 25 minutes the last time we were there. And he'll stand at the dock on Marco Island just as long looking at the thing and it doesn't do anything!

Eh, Kathy called me out so I had to show her up. :lmao:

It was a pain, but just be on notice that Pop Warner is actually part of the reason we chose Coronado Springs. We wanted Caribbean Beach or CSR, but historically, Pop Warner has used CBR and Port Orleans for their moderate resorts. This year it was CBR and CSR. It was just a few months before the trip that they announced the resorts. We really should have re-booked.

I was happy to settle for a couple of hours at the MK with him!

Well, I guess it will be a rope drop priority. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I didn't either... so I'm trying to spread the info. :thumbsup2

::yes:: You're absolutely right, I noticed it right away... :rolleyes1

And your son looks thrilled that he is getting to do an attraction.
I have no idea what that look was... :lmao::rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: for your wife and the Nemo thing. That is so something that Mark would do.
I just about lost it when she told me 45 minutes. That would be like saying the line for Figment is out the door or something. :scared1::rotfl:

I'd have more of a tendancy to watch one out in the wild at Marco or something, but you pretty much know what to expect from that manatee in captivity at EPCOT and there are other things to do! :lmao:

Super weird about that guy and his 'service' dog. I've seen some service dogs that were a little random like chihuahuas and cocker spaniels and couldn't help but wonder if their masters couldn't bear to part with them for a day:confused3

:lmao: Cracking up about the stars on the car! That is something I would totally do to DH but i'm sure there would be some type of consequence.

I was disappointed as well with TT. I knew that the track wasn't going to be changed, but I would always refer back in my mind and think, "this is the part where we would run over the cones, etc".

I'm pretty sure you won't care about this part, but your DW's shirt is adorable!

That is a little weird about the "service" dog. I have seen very small service dogs before. In fact, I got yelled at for almost petting one. I just reached out to pet the cute little dog and then stopped myself because I realized it had to be a service animal because it was in a store. Boy did I feel bad.

Anyway - maybe the dog was a seizure dog. Who knows?

Your TT pictures are pretty cool, but you are definitely not the first person I have heard say the ride just fell flat. Too bad.

:confused3 I'm sure there was a good reason for it, but I just don't know what it was.

:lmao: Cracking up about the stars on the car! That is something I would totally do to DH but i'm sure there would be some type of consequence.
I thought it was a funny trick. I've got to give her credit for coming up with the idea. :rotfl2::rotfl:

I was disappointed as well with TT. I knew that the track wasn't going to be changed, but I would always refer back in my mind and think, "this is the part where we would run over the cones, etc".
I know... I think my biggest disappointment was with the heat/cold test room changes. I really liked the new aerodynamics test thing, but other than that, that part of it was a downgrade to me.

I'm pretty sure you won't care about this part, but your DW's shirt is adorable!
Thanks, I'll pass it along. :thumbsup2

Wow, this guy came over and told DS he could pet it. I wasn't too crazy about the idea myself, but DS loves dogs... from a distance, so once it came over, he wanted nothing to do with it anyway.:lmao::rotfl2:

Anyway - maybe the dog was a seizure dog. Who knows?
Could be... seemed a bit hyper to be much of a help with anything though. :rotfl2::rotfl:

Your TT pictures are pretty cool, but you are definitely not the first person I have heard say the ride just fell flat. Too bad.
Thanks... They didn't come out too bad for a cell phone! :rotfl2: I really do like the changes to the paviliion as a whole and I do think the overall effect is an improvement. I just felt like the ride part really didn't live up to the expectations I had for it after seeing what they did with everything else there.

The rest of us piled into our Tahoe, and we might have borrowed a trick from Barry and stashed a couple of people in the cargo area.

Legally, of course.:rolleyes1

Wow, that's fascinating. You know, I think I need to head over to Journey to Imagination...that line can be a killer if you don't get there early. See ya!

This is when I learned that I screwed up bad.:faint: By letting everyone else ride Standby while I looked around, I missed out on the design studio.

D'oh! :headache:

Well, apparently as the timer was ticking down in the final few seconds of the design process, Sis2 reached over and put stars on his car and he didn’t have time to change it.:rotfl2::lmao:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Test drive the new Chevy Sparkle!

A light cycle ride, however... :scratchin

Sorry you weren't wowed by the ride. Having watched the ride-through online, I can definitely see that reaction. I felt like the series of road tests in the old version told a better story. You understood where you were and why. In this one, it's just a ride looking at Tron-y stuff. It doesn't feel like the "story" Disney rides are famous for.

I asked DW if the CM might have said the wait was four-to-five minutes instead of for-ty-five minutes?:rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2: :rolleyes1

This sounds like vacationing with my mom. She is one of those people that walks into a museum and has to read Every. Single. Sign. And. Display. before moving on. :faint:

Thanks. Try to stay caught up now. :thumbsup2
Ummm...yeaaaaahhhh....about thaaaaat.

It just really shocked me that they were just sitting around in the open not even trying to hide it. I mean, let’s be honest, it isn’t like I never had a drink before I was 21, but I definitely wasn’t sitting poolside flaunting the fact.

 At Disney World? What the :furious: are those parents thinking? Were these Pop Warner Kids?

He said he’d just got in the water when all of a sudden about 20 cheerleaders came out and got in the pool.
Dear Penthouse,
I never thought I'd be writing to you, but...
He said he got out and headed back to the room, because he didn’t feel too comfortable being the lone adult in a pool with a bunch of unsupervised tween girls.
Tweens? Good choice. And burn that letter you were just writing.

I later found out that BiL and Sis left because a group of cheerleaders came outside to practice on the sand about 5 feet away from the hammock they were laying in. Not exactly the best way to relax...
Your wife coaches cheerleaders, right? Make sure she devotes a little bit of practice time to "common courtesy"

I got back to the “old” style of park touring. I grabbed some wipes and a couple of diapers…
Just think, in about 40 years your son will be writing the same thing about you!:rotfl:

When we got inside the park, I noticed that some additions had been made to the Main Street area that we’d been missing up to that point in time. The tree and garland were finally up!
That must have been weird to be at the Christmas party without the tree and garland. :confused3 But I'm guessing they needed to film the Christmas Day Parade before all that stuff got in the way.

We didn’t spend much time in the MK, but it was nice. DS and I had fun, and it was less crowded than the Dig Site area at CSR would have been.
Sounds awesome! A little father/son bonding time at Disney World. :thumbsup2

They sat us at a big round table way off in the back of the restaurant. In a way, it was disappointing, because we were separated from the rest of the main dining area.
They tried doing that to us one time. I said "No, I want to be in the main dining room." We waited about 10-15 more minutes, but got a much better table.

Our server was Lazy Susan. She was fantastic.
That does help make up for some of the seating disappointment.

She asked us what meats we wanted, and we’d been discussing this one since we got there. We all agreed on the beef and the ribs
Really? The Midwestern Farm family agreed on the beef and ribs? :faint:
:rotfl:

And here is an excellent, high quality cell phone picture of it…
The picture is about as impressive as the geyser itself. I recall being thoroughly unimpressed by it.

The rest of us piled into our Tahoe, and we might have borrowed a trick from Barry and stashed a couple of people in the cargo area.
My lawyer has instructed me not to comment on this.

But what does he know? Nice work, Andy. :thumbsup2

I went to sit down on a bench and let DS get out of the stroller and run around a little bit, when a guy came walking over towards us with a dog. Now, I understand that service dogs can be used for a variety of things, but this dog certainly didn’t look or act like any service dog I’ve ever seen.
That does sound a bit creepy. There are two things that come to mind as to what that dog could be:
1. A seizure dog. There are some breeds that can sniff out a seizure coming and alert the person to brace for it.
2. A "companionship" dog. Yeah, I put that in quotes for a reason. You can use your imagination and decide what kind of doctor would sign off on that service dog form. :crazy2:

But much like the Guest Assistance Card, Disney isn't allowed to question the service dog. If they got the right paperwork, Disney has to let them in.

Well, apparently as the timer was ticking down in the final few seconds of the design process, Sis2 reached over and put stars on his car and he didn’t have time to change it.:rotfl2::lmao: It isn’t a great one, but Mom did grab a picture of it.
:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: Well played, Sis2, well played!

This must be the “put the camera away” look.
On DD or yourself?

I asked DW if the CM might have said the wait was four-to-five minutes instead of for-ty-five minutes?:rolleyes1 I don’t think she was too amused.
But I am, and that's what counts! :rotfl2:

Now here is the part that made me nervous. My sisters both love animals. A lot. Just start pointing out where different cuts of meat would come from.
"And over there is the brisket. That's good when it's smoked. Under here is where the bacon comes from. I wonder what manatee bacon tastes like? Up there is the rib eye. And over here you can get a nice cut of prime rib"

Thankfully, they didn’t take near as long as I expected before they were ready to go. I was shocked.
Did you forget that your sisters are Midwestern girls? If it don't have hooves, it don't count as an animal.
And it still wasn’t even quite time to use our Soarin’ FPs so we’d have to find something else to kill some time.

BEVERLY! Oh, you said kill "time", not "taste buds". My mistake.

Legally, of course.
Absolutely...

So you went to get her some breakfast Beverly!
How did I not think of that at the time???? :headache:

Wow, that's fascinating. You know, I think I need to head over to Journey to Imagination...that line can be a killer if you don't get there early. See ya!
I was considering my options, but I was pretty sure he'd follow us. :rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Test drive the new Chevy Sparkle!
Powered by rainbows and unicorns...

A light cycle ride, however... :scratchin
You know, if that car itself was a light cycle, I think it would feel like a better ride.

Oooooh!!! I like that. That's exactly what is missing, the story element. I mean there's a story, but the story is "hey, we're riding a car through some computer tests, so here are some lights." I mean, even in the future, there will be real world testing at some point in time before the car goes to production.

This sounds like vacationing with my mom. She is one of those people that walks into a museum and has to read Every. Single. Sign. And. Display. before moving on. :faint:
So you know what I mean then... :faint:

At Disney World? What the :furious: are those parents thinking? Were these Pop Warner Kids?
Well, they don't exactly walk around with name tags on, but I've got to assume they were either Pop Warner kids or their sibblings.:confused3

Dear Penthouse,
I never thought I'd be writing to you, but...

Tweens? Good choice. And burn that letter you were just writing. [/QUOTE
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

No kidding... but hers are at least in high school, so they act just slightly more mature than what we had to deal with on vacation. :rolleyes1

Just think, in about 40 years your son will be writing the same thing about you!
:rotfl2:

That must have been weird to be at the Christmas party without the tree and garland. :confused3 But I'm guessing they needed to film the Christmas Day Parade before all that stuff got in the way.
Actually it was, because last year when we went, it was before they filmed the parade and the garland was up until the day before filming. I was kind of surprised by the fact that it was the Thursday after filming this year before they had it up.

Sounds awesome! A little father/son bonding time at Disney World.
Hard to beat!

They tried doing that to us one time. I said "No, I want to be in the main dining room." We waited about 10-15 more minutes, but got a much better table.
Yeah, I guess we could have done that. It wasn't that big of a deal, I guess.

That does help make up for some of the seating disappointment.
Yes, it turned out very well for us!

Really? The Midwestern Farm family agreed on the beef and ribs?
Go figure...

The picture is about as impressive as the geyser itself. I recall being thoroughly unimpressed by it.
I'm glad you find my photography skills throroughly unimpressive. :rotfl2::lmao:

My lawyer has instructed me not to comment on this.

But what does he know? Nice work, Andy.
Lawyers don't know anything except for how to ruin the fun. I think I'm ok saying that since Aaron doesn't hang out around here. :rolleyes1

Yeah, I pretty much assumed that fact. I figured there had to be some kind of reason. I just have no idea what it was...

Well played, Sis2, well played!
I have to admit, I was proud of her.

On DD or yourself?
Neither... DS

But I am, and that's what counts!
I figured that one was right up your alley.

Just start pointing out where different cuts of meat would come from.
"And over there is the brisket. That's good when it's smoked. Under here is where the bacon comes from. I wonder what manatee bacon tastes like? Up there is the rib eye. And over here you can get a nice cut of prime rib"
Well, part of their animal science coursework was meat science labs. They can, and have, butchered livestock. They aren't the PETA type animal lovers. :rotfl2::lmao:

Did you forget that your sisters are Midwestern girls? If it don't have hooves, it don't count as an animal.
You obviously don't know them well enough... just wait until the next update.:rolleyes1

BEVERLY! Oh, you said kill "time", not "taste buds". My mistake.
Same difference...

Too bad that you didn't get to enjoy the design aspect of new TT, but it sounds like you liked it ok! Yours is the first semi-positive review I've heard. I guess I don't really care about the changes. I liked it as it was. :confused3

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day!

LOVE LOVE LOVE that you had boy time with your son at MK one afternoon. That is the sweetest thing ever. Also loved your wife's minnie shirt from Epcot!!
