They didn’t use my banked points

I have two contracts, same resort, same use year. (BCV, April). I banked points from both contracts into 2022, and then made a 2022 reservation. The fine print said that all banked points would be used first. After confirming the reservation, however, all the points were taken from one contract, meaning banked and current points were used, leaving banked points in my second contract.

1. Will this correct itself in the next day or so, or do I need to call Member Services?
2. Is there a way online to see how many banked points remain in each contract?

Thank you.

Are you positive that the banked points were not used? The last page of the confirmation can be confusing because it gives the appearance of taking all points, both banked and current, from the first contract. But in reality the banked points from all contracts get take before any current points.

The easiest way that I have found to check what points were used is to do a mock modification of the reservation without changing anything.. When you get to the screen where you can choose your contracts, you will see a link near the bottom to see how the points will be taken. Clucking on it will take you to an animated screen that shows the order that points are taken from each contract: holding, then banked followed by borrowed, then transferred and finally annual allotment.

If you continue through, all the way to completion, the page will appear as if it is not taking the banked points from your second contract. Ignore that and click on View Points Summary. That's where you will see how the points were actually taken.

I believe that if you made a reservation selecting contract 1 first- it would take the banked, then current and then the remaining points will be pulled from contract 2. You can't specify you want to use banked points from Contract 1 and Contract 2 and then go back and use current points from Contract 1. Only way would be to make 2 reservations. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the system is supposed to utilize all the banked points from each contract first regardless of which contract you select.

You're incorrect. Regardless of which contract that you chose as first or second, all banked points are taken from both contracts before any current allocation of points is touched on either contract.

You do have to be sure that both contracts were checked when booking. If you don’t it won’t pull banked from both.

If you did, actually booked it and looked at the points summary and it was wrong, then the system didn’t work correctly so you will need to call,

Normally, it works as long as you actually book. There is a message before you complete it that makes it seem like you might not have that happen, but it usually works correctly as long as you finish the booking.

I close my eyes, hold my breath, and book it. Everything usually works out afterwards. :teeth:
