They charge you for the DDP at the end of your stay now?

I was told by a friend that she was not charged for the dining plan until she checked out. Last year when we went we were charged for the dining plan upon arrival on our credit card, and incidentals were charged at the end of our stay.

Has anyone experienced this?

The DDP is part of a package and I know that I just paid the final payment of our entire package several weeks ago. So our DDP has been paid for BEFORE the trip.

Hi,

I think I needed to say they were DVC members. They didn't have to purchase a package.

We are DVC members too, but we paid for it when we checked in.

I should have posted this on the DVC boards.

Wonder why the change

We had the same thing last year. In fact I was paying for the DDP on a second room that we had and the people staying there arrived while we were at MK trying to get back to OKW. They could not check in until I gave the person at the front desk my CC number to charge their DDP. We were doing ths on the bus on the way back. If it was charged at the end we would not have had the problem. I don't have my check out paper so don't know if it showed up on that or not last year as being charged and paid at check in. I don't know why they would change it.

I'm sure they authorized it at check-in. It may have taken a few days for the actual charge to go through on the card, like with most purchases. If there was a weekend or a holiday in the mix, it would have delayed it even more.

I have used the DDP with my DVC stays 4 times and have been charged during checkin each time. My most current stay was last month.

yep... paid in full at check-in two weeks ago with DVC

We did have a one night stay at BCV where I tried to pay for our DDP, but the CM at check-in insisted that it was "taken care of". I asked three times "don't I need to pay for the DDP??" Since we were staying there for only a couple of hours (checking in at 7:30pm and then heading to VWL in the morning) I didn't put a CC down for charging.

Well, we plopped our bags down, and headed to the MK. When we got back to our room at 11:30pm there were TWO messages from the front desk. "please come down and pay for your DDP as there is no CC on file with us" then the CM who checked us in apologizing for telling me what she did and could we please come down and pay for it.

I went down and paid for it at midnight

I'm just glad that it let us use the credits! We ate at Cosmic Rays at 8:30 no problem

We returned on Saturday from a two week stay, first at SSR and then BWV's, charged at check in both times!

I had to pay for my DDP while at BWV last Oct at checkin. In fact, I wasn't allowed to put it on my room charge, had to be a different charge. That was basically okay because there were two moms, and two dd's, so this way each duo could pay for their own food bill, rather than having to split it out down the road. But, we both had to pay at the start, not the end.
