These numbers don't make any sense

I was looking at a mock booking for the following exact same dates, rooms, adults ect and this came up.
Something is not right.

Disney- 2 adults, standard room, AKL, 2/3/16-2/7/16 $1083

Orbitz- exact same $1279 and this is with a 15% promo code

Wonder what gives?

I'd just book the better deal and call it a day. Prices on orbitz sometimes go up and down.

Strange, I was just looking at prices. I just wonder if Orbitz does not have the new Disney discounts loaded onto their site yet? That could be it.

I've found on the Orbitz site, sometimes under each room type it mentioned with current Disney deal "...up to 25% off..." and then the Orbitz code will apply on top of that. But not all rooms have that blurb about the current Disney deal, so some prices are rack rate, and in that case you'd just get the Orbitz promo discount and that's it.

I don't think the new WDW discount has loaded on Orbitz yet. I'm pretty sure that last year at this time it took a day or two to see the discount on Orbitz.

I looked at your dates on Orbitz (because I've been on there all morning! ), and I got a price of $932.61 for 2/3-2/7. Maybe the Disney discount hadn't loaded yet when you did your quote?

Also, did the Disney amount include tax? I forget which screen it pops up in.

I don't think the new WDW discount has loaded on Orbitz yet. I'm pretty sure that last year at this time it took a day or two to see the discount on Orbitz.

I booked POR with a 19% Disney discount around 10:00am CST. They were (seemingly) adding the discounts to each resort one by one as I was waiting.

I just looked again and the discount is showing on Orbitz...for my dates/resort anyway

They may not have certain rooms bought for the discount. I booked Monday with Orbitz, and there was a difference with many rooms much cheaper through Orbitz and some not having the discount.

Pop Century for our spring break didn't even have any standard rooms available to book with the discount through Disney, but they did with Orbitz. With Orbitz I got $115 a night, with Disney it would have been $156 a night. So, for 6 nights saved roughly $300. Had to add on the extra two nights at the discount but without the extra 15% off since it falls outside of the window for that, but I'll keep checking as I'd like to have one reservation rather than two!

Just keep checking. Things change with Orbitz - even if I change my mind I wanted to grab the discount when I found it!
