Jo - We haven't finalized anything for WDW yet because my wife doesn't have her teaching schedule yet from school. She will be finding it out this week. Haven't really done much of WDW planning anyway...we have been so busy taking care of the house and animals. Oma left us with two cats, one dog and one rabbit - and then there is the task of going through the clothes, documents and all that stuff that needs to be done. So many changes in so few months. We are just trying to adjust to it all. Just taking it one day at time - it is overwhelming at times. But we can't wait to getaway in November for our trip to FL and the cruise!

The chair without the arms. I think it will be a nice contrast with the gold walls.

Which chair do you like better for my dining room? I am going to paint the walls a deep gold color that is on the walls across the entry hall in the study.

NC, I agree with Sea. I like the chair on the right. It will look super cute with gold walls. :thumbsup2

NC, I agree...the chair on the right gets my vote, too. Both cool, though, and I love the picture of the pears. :)

Sea, yikes! Hope the fires calm down soon. We have a bad one up here in Northern CA too, in Auburn, last I read it was 50% contained. Makes me glad we are flying into Long Beach instead of trying to drive down. You still saving the spot by the "C" for Saturday the 19th? ;) Mike and I are getting so excited about our trip :woohoo: Still bummed that SM will be closed, but I'm not going to tell him about the new Fantasmic dragon, I'll just let it be a cool surprise! That cake was gorgeous -- I went to a commercial baking school a long time ago and worked in several bakeries -- I know cakes, and it's just stunning, beautiful work. :goodvibes What a lovely tribute for your MIL the gardener...

Jo, yeah, I remember the bloody kids staggering into the house, often wailing like they were dying...and they cleaned up quick and usually felt better after a popsicle and a magic mom kiss :wizard: My oldest son is...*gulp*...26 years old today! I had him when I was 19, almost 20, two weeks before my first wedding anniversary...do the math LOL :teacher:

RF, love the DR...I could picture all kinds of nifty accessories from the Moroccan store in Epcot:

And the lavenderish walls in the scrapbook room are really pretty...love the chandelier :thumbsup2

Argh, it's late...hello and goodnight to all my Mayer friends... :cloud9:

Hi KB!!!

We definitely got you scheduled in for Cali-Mayer Meet-Up on the 19th at the big "C". Did we decided on a time??? DL opens at 8am, DCA opens at 10am. Stompy Jones and Scot Bruce (Elvis) are performing that day too. Good entertainment that day. Magical Fireworks and F! will be rocking the park too! You still have my cell phone number? PM if you lost it.

Sea

Here is the finale of Magical, DL's summer firework show. We saw it from the IASW area - although this video doesn't show it, they put amazing digital projections on the facade of the ride. I will have to find a way to film that and the fireworks at the same time in a few weeks.

NC- are we ready for football? ARE WE READY FOR FOOTBALL???????? Must you ask???????????:worship::worship::worship::worship::worship:
First game of the season- Thursday night- USC is playing.... and we'll be watching it from Charleston. Mom's throwing a pizza party for all the out of town folks at my Aunt's house! Woo hoo!!!
Hope your son's game is great.
Now- we need to discuss Mallett. I'm not so sure about him. What do you think? Petrino looks MUCH more relaxed this year than last. I think you guys will have a pretty good season. We were thinking about trying to get tix for the Ark/USC game that's here. Still haven't decided.
As far as the chairs- I LOVE the fabric backed one. But that's the kind of girl I am. Very formal, LOL. They both are beautiful and I love the painting of the fruit.

This weekend went by too fast.
We had a company picnic on Saturday where I got to hold a newborn preciousness baby that's 10 weeks old. Didn't want to give him back. Sooo cute.

Yesterday, Belle had been bugging Mark to teach her to ride her bike w/o training wheels- so he took her down and tried twice to run behind her, holding onto the bike. She kept stomping on the brakes. So he said, "well, when you decide you're ready let me know, I'll run next to you."

Instead, she pushed off and started pedaling by herself. In about 3 minutes, she was standing up pedaling and turning around.
Took all of 10 minutes for her to learn. I was astounded.

When Drew learned, he did it in one run.:confused:

They certainly don't get their balance from me.:rolleyes1
MCat, however did. Took her two years to get it- AND she wiped out a mailbox and a man jogging before she learned how.:scared1:

:rotfl2:
They all come walking up to the house bloody.:rotfl2:

Ahhhh- the rites of passage of childhood.

Makes me sorta sad.

:guilty:

Jo

When do you leave for Charleston?

I thought your mom was going to a bar to watch the football game? What happened? I was SO looking forward to sweet southern lady in a bar stories. :lmao:

I think Arkansas will have a much better year this and that next year will be even better! I think Ryan Mallet will be a huge improvement over the Dick brothers. At our house, we keep saying now that the Nutts and Dicks are gone this season has to be so much better!

Of course, Florida will once again be awesome! I am not looking forward to playing you guys. The SEC has some tough teams once again this year. Who knows what will happen.

How exciting that Belle is riding her bike with trainers! :woohoo: Let the bleeding begin!

Well, you guys have summed up my dilema on the chairs.

Like Jo, I love the style of the fabric backed chair, all the detailing of it.

And like Sea, RF and KB I love the all leather chair for it's coloring. I think it will stand out more against the wall and it also picks up the copper color in my rug.

Ugh... I cannot make up my mind!!!

Sea - You guys have so much going on with taking care of the affairs of both your moms! It will be so great for you guys to get away to WDW this fall. How is the smoke? No asthma attacks?

KB - Happy Birthday to your DS!!! Those pics you posted are super cute, RF may be shopping in Morocco on her next trip! :rolleyes1 Are you excited about your trip? I would be! :yay:

Shelly - Have you recovered from your trip?

Trix - Have you finished your book? I need a report. :teacher:

Lake - Are all school supplies purchased and all extra curricular activites on the calendar? Are you ready for the back to school insanity?

RF - How is it that you have been in your house a couple of months (if that long) and it is more decorated than my house that I have been in for 5 years? :lmao:

Mari - I hope school is going well for you! Thinking of you!

Morning MAYers! :goodvibes

It's a beautiful sunny morning here! A bit cool, but it's supposed to warm up, I think!

Congrats to Belle for no more training wheels. DS10 hated training wheels and started riding without them at age 5! DS7 had no interest whatsoever in taking his off, but we thought it was normal at age 5 since his brother did it (we now see that most kids are more like 7ish when they do it) so we took them off 2 summers ago. He is one to do thing at his own pace, so we knew if we didn't really encourage him to do it he would be 10 and still have training wheels. He fought us for a few days and then we were heading down the street one day and his little friend (a girl) was outside. He said - dad, let go of my bike! And he took off down the street! :rotfl:

NC - I like the chair on the left. Both are nice though. You sound like me with my shutter dilemma!

Hi KB! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son!!

Today I would like to go through all the travel toiletries ziplock bags. See what all we need for the upcoming trip! Start to get them all in their proper bags - checked bags and carry-ons. Not that it matters, I STILL HAVE NO AIRFARE!!! It dropped from $147 to $139. Wow. I'm starting to freak out a little. Okay, maybe A LOT!! :scared1:

DS10's Open House is tonight. Hopefully he likes his teacher! :wizard: I can't believe he is in 5th grade. :sad1: Oh and get this - I got a letter in the mail the other day and guess who got put in advanced math again??? Can you believe it? Remember a few weeks ago I was secretly hoping he wouldn't? :guilty: I'm really dreading the 5th grade homework.

I will start getting my Hershey pics uploaded to photobucket today and then I can do my mini TR for you guys! :goodvibes

JO - anymore DL or HA TR??? popcorn::

Sulley asked me to tell you guys Hi!!!

She may pop in on Thursday if she has time.

She has been working a lot and feels like she has been run over by a truck. I told her she must feel like she is "tired and exhausted".

YAY ~ Please check in Sulley! Tell us all about your Disney CM adventures when you get a chance!

Hopefully you, Sea, and I can meet up in November!! Just over 2 months to go!!! :cool1:

Hi Shelly! I am doing OK today. Have to go and visit some clients this morning - hate to be out in this slimy air. We are surrounded by these dark billows of smoke. My son is staying home today again from school.

So has anyone here seen Bob Jackson perform at POFQ? We have some friends that go regularly to his show and want to take us while we are there in Nov. Our friends from TX saw him a few weeks ago and they said had a good time.
