She could go Nov 7th -14th, Sunday to Sunday, and miss Jersey week, hit the end of F&W and get the first MVMCP.

Oh dang--- all the MAYers could go then.:thumbsup2

Scrap that- Veteran's day is on the 11th- might be crowded.

That's the week I am going this year!

Do you really think Veteran's Day will be crowded? I have never heard that it brings in any crowds. . . I used to have that day off when I worked at the bank, but the kids have never had it off. Do other school's have it off?

Morning MAYers!

Still praying for Malik Lake. Hope all goes well today.

Nothing much going on here today. Gave the boys haircuts this morning. That's about it. Another soccer try-out tonight.

Shelly- DS 10 actually let you cut his hair!!!!!
I know you said he wouldn't get one...so good for you!

IDK???

Unofficial guide usually shows a spike. So does TGM, I think, but can't remember.

That's why I changed my plans that one year to go at Halloween instead b/c the guides showed thast increase in crowd predictions.
But then I heard that week was really good, and our week was really bad- so who knows?

If you have crowds- it might be more of a local increase- not so much a nationwide thing.

Our kids don't have it off, I don't think. I'll check.

Yes, I had enough of that hair on his head!! :sad2: I had to strongly encourage him, yet making him think it was his idea. :rotfl: So, he let me cut the back and sides but I had to leave that messy long hair in the front. And when he saw it he said he looks hideous!! :confused3:rotfl: Oh my, I can't wait to see what he is like as a teenager.

Are you still going in MAY? For some reason I was thinking you had dropped that plan. :confused3 I don't know, we all share so many Disney plans & ideas that I get confused! :rotfl:

I am thinking that we should plan for a MAYer reunion at Disney next November! :snooty: Isn't that when you are going anyway RF? And it will be a year from my trip, so we will be ready! (If we like November :wizard:) And it's one of JO's favorite times to go. Maybe Trixie's DH will be ready to head back by then. Anyone with me here???

Yeppers!!! We couldn't do may , but november is a much better possibilty. Jason and will just make it our nov. birthday trip with the kids that year.

I sure hope it's nothing major. I could have sworn I read somewhere that it really didn't impact crowds like most other holidays. I hope so! :wizard:

Hmmm.... I'm not sure which week she wants. I'll ask and let you guys know. She probably knows about jersey week. But, I'll make sure it's not then :scared1:

I've never done any research on Nov at WDW because I never really thought about going at that time of year before now... :confused3

Hey MAYers, just poppin' in to say hi! :wave2:

We just got back from another meeting with the public school principal. We're really leaning toward going there. :cheer2: I need to decide by Monday so we can prepare.

Our school starts September 8. I can't believe how early some of you start! :scared1:

I just received a letter today for our new school as well.
The kids start much later in the day and finish much later than they did last year. I'm going to have to find a way to get them to sleep in a bit more.

Emmy's Senior kindergarten schedule at the new school is full days every other day, instead of half days every day like she used to be. That should be interesting and take a while to get used to.

We go back Sept 8 as well, and the week before I have an appointment planned for the kids to see the school and meet their teachers ahead of time.
Just so they feel good about it their first day. New school with no friends yet..my poor babies.

They will make friends as quick as a wink! ;)

One school here started today. Those little uniformed kids were all over Wal-Mart at 3:30.

Off to buy the illusive 6 inch ruler, one more zippered pencil pouch and a chin shield. Somebody permantly "borrowed" my DS's chin shield. :sad2:

No biggie. I would have gladly bought one for the poor child who "borrowed" it. At this age we get some "scholarship" kids in to play sports and they just haven't had the morals instilled into them that the other kids have. My DS was furious because the kid was eyeing his the other day, commenting that he NEEDED a blue and a green chin shield and that he didn't have any. Well, now this kid has a blue and green and my child does have the one green one that I bought him. And like I said, had known this little boy didn't have any, I would have bought him both colors. So, now I am off to buy BOTH colors and am putting our name on them. So sad.

In fact, I would have bought them for the whole dang team.

Okay one last one before I mmake supper. It's for Katiebell- and it's adorable.

If any of you would like to exchange hats, please feel free.

:lmao:

Jo

THAT is a FABULOUS hat!!! :worship: I approve! I'll wear it to tea at the Grand Floridian, too! Oh, and Sea's hat is just to DIE for. :rotfl2:

Julie and Julia. With Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.

I'm reading the book right now...it's really good...looking forward to the movie...

Little Malik is having surgery today.. thanks so much for all your continued prayers.:grouphug:

Most definitely, prayers and good thoughts for him and his family.

It's actually chilly here this morning. I'm outside on my deck right now, drinking coffee and I have a long sleeved shirt on. Is it Fall already??? How's the weather up your way, girls???

Jo

ummm....98? no, not Fall here

Speaking of cars...my is in need of an oil change.

ooh, thanks for the reminder, one more thing on my to-do list...

I know, at least 3-4 times every trip we see people walking up to the podium telling them how many are in their party and expecting to get in right away, only to be told that there is nothing open ALL NIGHT. And I always shake my head and say - why didn't they plan better? :sad2: And DH always says - maybe they aren't as "organized" as you. I know he really means obsessed! :rotfl:

yep...my sister was SO glad that I knew about the ADR's -- nothing like that at DL! -- and that I helped her plan her trip. I'm uhh..."organized" and "enthusiastic", yeah, that's it

I was just wondering the other day if you had made a decision about school. Good luck, I hope it all works out well! :goodvibes

We start Sept 8 as well. Next Friday they will get their letters from the school telling them what teacher they got. Then the phone will be ringing off the hook from all their friends seeing if they got the same teacher!

Then the week before school they will have an Open House so they can see their new room and meet their new teachers. Plus DS7's school will have a parent/teacher orientation.

Hey guys-
I'm having to take Belle to the Dr-
she spiked a fever- and has sore throat, cough, sneezing, runny nose, chills, headache, stomache ache and body aches.:guilty:

I'm worried it's the swine flu. She has all the symptoms.:sad2:

I'll be back later with a report of what the dr says.

Lake- how did Malik do yesterday-- any news??

Hope all is well with all other MAYers near and far--:snooty:

Jo

aw, Jo...sorry to hear Belle is sick  Let us know what the dr. says...have there been reported cases of swine flu in your area? There are a lot of other flu bugs out there with similar symptoms. I read that the young man that plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies -- Rupert Grint? -- had the swine flu, but he is recovered now...

Busy, busy, busy today...cleaning house, preparing for my mom to fly in tomorrow, picking her up at the airport at noon. Wish me luck!
