Okay MAYers...there is so much I wish I had time to comment on...but I don't. :headache:

We're headed for swimming lessons and then camping at the beach for a while. I don't know exactly when I'll be back...could be Sunday...could be Wednesday. Depends on a lot of things.

So have a great week everyone! Don't miss me too much. Heehee.

So this Saturday after my friend's memorial service, my wife and I are leaving immediately and driving up to Solvang to spend the night out of town.

http://www.solvangusa.com/

We need to just getaway - even if it is for a couple of hours.

So that is the plan...

I hope you guys have a great weekend!

I'll be here. Working. Awaiting the day it's my turn to go away!! :hourglass

Oh yeah, it is our town's tiny street fair this weekend. Maybe we will make it there for a few hours! :yay:

Can't wait to hear all about your getaways!

Sea- so glad you are getting away. You need some relaxing moments together. Is that the same place you posted once before, maybe last year? I rememeber us talking about a place like that , that reminded me of Europe. I just looked at some of their antique shops on that link. I could do some serious damage there, LOL.

Shelly- POR-- i don't think I'd stay there unless I couldn't get POFQ. The whole time I'd be whining about being so close to POFQ but not IN it.
I like the location of AB, but don't like the rustic look of the rooms. I like the outside of the mansions and the inside of the rooms, but they are so far away. I do, however, like the quietness of the resort and the pathways by the river.
RF-- did you not like it here? i can't remember.

Trixie--- have a great weekend!!!!!! Have fun!:wizard:

Jillian....:confused:I saw a clip of her and Ed on Good Morning america. Seems like she is blinded. i mean, there were emails dated and everything.

Yeah, I'm not sure what it is about POR. Just never really been drawn to it. But you never know. I thought I was going to love CSR, but that sure wasn't the case. So as long as I have a clean room at POR and the CM's are friendly I will be happy!

I fully expect to love OKW. Watch - I'll probably hate it or something! No, I highly doubt it. It looks too much like CBR! :goodvibes

I liked POR. It was peaceful, very relaxing and nice for us on our honeymoon. But I'm not sure that it's very um......I don't know what the word is. I don't want to say 'kid friendly' because it's DISNEY! Of course it's kid friendly.

But maybe just not as 'visually stimulating' as some of the other resorts. KWIM?

I don't think that you guys will hate POR, but I think that CBR will continue to be your favorite. The busses were the biggest complaint that I had about it, other than that I thought it was nice. I just think it will always hold a place in my heart because that was our 1st trip together. :lovestruc You know?

Good Morning :wizard:

I'm semi annoyed this morning.

What do you guys think is the appropriate age to stop having birthday parties? Like 12.... Maybe have a sweet 16 party... Then go out and celebrate your 21st with friends... Have an over the hill party when you turn whatever age you do that at  But then that's about it, right?

Well, guess who's new house got volunteered (not by Bob or myself) to host his twin step sisters birthday party....

Tonight.

Wait let me back up..... It's their 35th birthday party....

Really?

Get over it. You were born. By all means - Celebrate it! Go out to a nice dinner with your husband. Let your kids make you a cake. Whatever. But to actually have a party... For yourself....Every year...

Don't invite 15 people to my house for dinner and cake and gifts.

Ugh. I don't know why I am more annoyed. Because you're mother (Bob's step mother) said that they were coming over to celebrate at our house without really asking us... or because you're 35 and still insist on a birthday party - with ice cream cake and gifts.

Sorry! I needed to get that off my chest! :rotfl:

Uh, hello...

35 year old married women should plan their own *&(^% %*&# @$%^ birthday party!!!

And I said that as sweetly as I possibly could! Sorry RF!!!

Yes you are right. The movie "Sideways" was filmed up there.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks NC! I knew you guys would understand! LOL.

Well... in about 40 minutes I am off to DQ to spend $25 on ice cream cake.

I just realized that my Sams membership has been expired.... since April

RF - Oh brother...I hope this painful event finishes up fast...what a bummer.

Thanks Sea! I am trying to not be bitter about it anymore... At least I get ice cream out of it.

So, are you thinking of taking any of the wine tours while you are on your mini vaca? I think it looks like so much fun! I would looooove to do that!

Bob and I always want to go to vineyards - but never get to. I would really like to see some pics whenever you get back!!! :woohoo:

I really don't know what we be able to do, since we will probably get into town between 6 or 7 at night. We have to be back to SM the next day late afternoon. So, it might just be dinner, breakfast and a bit of shopping in Solvang.

I will take pictures and tell you about our adventure. I am sure we will find something fun to share with you all.

Sea

Alright RF- first of all- hope the party goes well and the ice cream doesn't melt.:goodvibes

Secondly, RF---- you have an amazing wine region just 5 hours from Pittsburgh. ( I looked it up on mapquest- PGH to Geneva).
It's the Finger Lakes region of New York-- and I have to exclaim over it--- it is unbelievably gorgeous--esp in the fall!!!!!! You've never seen fall until you see it in NY.
http://www.fingerlakes.org/wine.htm

Look at this place- http://www.genevaonthelake.com/
When we lived in Rochester, once on the way to Charleston, we took the scenic route this way, and oh wow. Too beautiful.

You should go on a fall getaway there one year. You'd love it.:lovestruc Very romantic. Easily done over a long weekend.

;)

Sea- could you please call your friend Nygel Lythgoe and tell him to reopen talks with Paula for Idol?

I like her and will miss her on the season.

Thx.

Jo;)

Ditto that for me!

I know she is so dingy but she reminds of someone I know... :rolleyes1

Me!!! ;)

Okay MAYers, this may be the dumbest question ever but can someone please tell me about cabs??? I have never been in one in my life. We are planning on using one to transfer us and our luggage from POR to OKW. From what I am reading I don't expect it to cost more than $15-$20. Especially since the 2 resorts are fairly close to one another. My question is - is there a cab that will take all 4 of us and about 7-8 pieces of luggage? Or does just one of us need to take the cab & luggage and the other 3 take Disney transportation to get there?

Sorry, like I said - I know nothing about taking a cab! :confused3

It really depends on the size of the cabs. Could it all fit in a typical trunk? Since it is such a short trip, even if you had to have a few pieces to hold in the cab, it wouldn't be bad since it is a short trip.

What is the size of a typical cab? Is it just a 4 door car? I doubt all of our luggage would fit in the trunk of a car. But like you said we could hold some for all the longer it is going to take to get there. I am just wondering if it is a car would they take all 4 of us? Do they let someone sit up front? Or maybe we would need a van taxi? Is there such a thing? :rotfl:
