Hey MAYers!

How exciting that the MAYer meet is this weekend!:banana::banana:

But it kind of makes me sad that I won't be there. :sad1:

I am sad you won't be there too. I think you will be the only MAYer I haven't met. Well you and Sea, but I may be meeting him in November.

 Hey I hear there are some great discounts for WDW in November!! Why don't you join us??? :yay:

I wish everyone could join us.....:)

Thank you NC. I just don't think she is going to pull through this time though. She has been bedridden since last Thursday and we feed her food and water with a syringe. Doesn't talk anymore and is just getting weaker and weaker. We are keeping her comfortable as possible and spending a lot of time with her.

Isn't that pathetic? :sad2:

I hope you guys have a wonderful time!

Mari - I am so sorry you and and your DH had such a big fight. I hope things can be resolved.

Sea - I hope your MIL is doing better

Jo - Is it raining up in your neck of the woods? I love your TR, and the girl with those big ears who got in the BIG middle of your photo! Ha!

I think NC should come in November too. It will be a great meet up!

Lake - do you need any WDW park maps? I know it's been a few years since you've been there. I have plenty from this year if you need some. Thought maybe you would want some for your surprise. Or just to look at! :goodvibes

If you can spare any sure...that would be wonderful. Thank you :)

okay...just to change things up a bit I have a WDW question...

If you only had 3 day to do WDW...which parks would you go to, where would you eat... or what would you definitely skip????

I know its a hard one... trust me I know..it's what I am dealing with right now.

When we go to florida in february, Jason's mom wants us to stay with them for at least 4 days... which would only leave 3 or 4 days for us to go to disney, which we really want to do. I want to do as much as we can... but not feel overwhelmed either. Luckily its not our first visit so we already have some ideas.. and of course we want to do what would be best with kids of 5 and 8.

Wish me luck... I have lots of time though so that's good.
And luckily I can bounce some ideas off two WDW experts on Saturday!!!!!

Hmm. . . 3 days, I would definitely do MK, DHS, and Epcot. I would skip AK altogether. With your kids ages maybe try to do a full day at MK, and a full day at either DHS or Epcot (whichever you guys like best) and a half day at the other. Maybe skip most of World Showcase. That can be time consuming and not always that interesting to a 5 and 8 year old. I'd probably only make a few ADR's. Maybe pick one that you and your DH want and one character meal for the kids. Make sure to see Wishes and then maybe either Fanstamic or IllumiNations - whichever one you like best. Trying to cram in 3 full days rope drop to close with late shows might be too much. Of course the parks may not be closing that late if you are going right at the beginning of February.

Thanks Shelly. I knew I was asking the right people.
I was pretty much thinking along those exact samelines.

I was thinking Chef Mickeys for a dinner or breakfast so the kids get their mickey fix, and I may not be able to skip AK...Ethan loves it. So hopefully we can get 4th day there... I know we will do a full day at MK. But maybe we can do a day where we do AK in the morning and finish at Epcot. Then do DS on the other day. So much to think about.

Funny I was going to suggest Chef Mickey's too! That way you can see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy without standing in line at the parks!

Well it would be hard to skip AK then if Ethan loves it! That's just the park that we would skip if it was us. We usually don't spend more than 3-4 hours there. :confused3 Honestly if EE wasn't there I would probably not even bother. Although I would like to try to see the Nemo show this time.

Where will you stay? Will you want any pool time (if weather allows)? How about DTD shopping?

We probably would only go for a few hours to AK, but he loves Kilimanjaro...that kid loves zoos. And I also want to see NEMO.

As for places to stay... I thought we may try your fave... of CBR.

I am really hoping it all works out so we can go, and I can surprise the kids.

My kids seem to have lost interest in zoo's. :confused3 We did take them to the animal park this weekend and they enjoyed the part where they could touch and feed the animals, but they just don't get into looking at the animals.

:yay: YAY for CBR!!! You will definitely want some pool time if you are staying there!

Gosh I hope we like POR. :wizard: I am a little worried. Plus DS10 keeps saying - "I don't know why we can't just stay at CBR again. It has everything I need." :rotfl: Yes, he's only 10. What could he possibly need???

Ethan actually has a really big thing for polar bears ( Good thing we live in Canada...:P)... ever since he was a baby he wanted to be a polar bear doctor as he calls them. Always wanting to go to the zoo to see them. Now he just really likes going to see animals.
And still wants to maybe work with animals... marine biology... you just never know if its in his future. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

So I'm not sure I would stop hear about it if we skipped AK.

I love AK! We could never skip it. It's our 2nd favorite park closely behind MK.

It's so funny how different everyone's views of the parks are. We love AK, but don't really care for DHS too much... and I know that's Shelly's favorite....

And Epcot is OK, we love the WS - but could take or leave Innoventions or most of FW. And I know that Jo's family loves Epcot...

Hmmm, interesting.

:confused3

I would make sure to get in at least 1 character meal. And the one meal that I always recommend for dinner is O'Hana. We love it! It's fun and relaxed enough for families, but the food is still very very good. :thumbsup2

Suitcases are packed... bring on the long weekend!!!!!!

Not like you can't tell, but I am really looking forward to this weekends get away with Jason and the kids.
We need some family vacation time, and the mayer meet on top of that is like the icing on top a really yummy cake.!!!!!!
So glad we can do it!

Hey everyone.

You guys have been quite the chatty Cathy's today.:goodvibes

I will try to do more of the TR--- I'd like to get it all done soon so I can move on to Hawaii-

Sea- I didn't realize things were so bad with your MIL. I hope her days are full of peace. Praying for you all.

So, Moving MAYers... I am very jealous that you guys are all gonna have fun. It will be quiet in here on Saturday. Hope your weather is beautiful:wizard:

Lake--- as Rf said- everyone has diffderent touring styles and likes and dislikes. Heres how we would handle it--

One full day in MK- starting as close to Rope Drop as possible, having a light breakfast in the room, Lunch would be CS at Columbia Harbor House or Cosmic Rays at 11:30 and then leaving the park taking the Monorail to Chef Mickey's for the first available ADR for dinner. Stay for a bit, relax and then either walk or monorail back to MK to catch Spectro and Wishes.

Day 2 would be a bit of a later start-since you'll be out the night before somewhat later--- get there no later than 10 am for Epcot- go immediately to Soarin for FP's, then tour Future World seeing the seas, and the rest-- then ride Soarin with FP's. Head to Test track to get another set of Fp's.
Head to WS for lunch at the place of your choice- we'd do Mexico inside b/c of tradition and no other reason. Tour WS -- find the kidcot stations and get them a passport to get stamped and masks to color.
If Illuminations isn't a big to-do, leave thru the International gateway and go to the Boardwalk for a TS dinner there. If you have to see Illum.-- you can have dinner in Ep or the Boardwalk still and just come back inside. Walk backwards after the fireworks from the bridge near the UK back towards Mexico- very leisurely. By the time you get to the front- no crowds.

Day 3---- will be busy---- but you can do it. You will have to plan this day when Fantasmic is showing.
Hit RD at AK and see everything you need, starting with the safari. Make sure you see ITTBAB... I like it.:3dglasses
Leave by 3pm and head to DHS-- don't expect to be able to do anything there- just walk around and hit whatever you can before the first seating of dinner- 4:30? ish.

You'll have to be in the line for F! early- they let you in really early.

You could do the F! dining plan- but I never think it's worth it b/c I don't liek the spot they put you for the show.

IF F! is NOT something you have to have to have to do...
plan on riding two or three things during the show....
that's how we got onto TOT alone that time. No one is riding then. You could hit TSM, TOT and RNRC.

I'd plan a late departure time the following afternoon and hit DTD early to do some shopping and lunch before heading to the airport.

It will be a commando trip if you do it this way----- my family is commando experts--- but the kids will sleep gooooooood every night.:rolleyes1:laughing:

I really hope we have great weather too... I'm sure it won't be that quiet without us. Yah!!! Right!!!!!
You'll just have to keep things rolling with your TR, so I can come home and read it. I'm bringing my laptop...so I can keep up to spend while I am away as well.

Thanks for your WDW input Jo...much appreciated as well.
We tend to do things a bit commando to... that's just who we are..kind of go out and see everything people I guess.

But the three of you (Shelly, Heather, and yourself) have given me some thoughts...I was just feeling a little overwhelmed. Usually I have 8 or 9days...3 makes it extremely tough. I am happy at the thought of just being able to go though. It is amusing to see how everyone does have different styles of touring, and what ranks most important to them isn't it.

So time to start loading my van......

Shelly and Heather I will see you tomorrow!:woohoo:
We are pulling out of our driveway at about 11:45 so as long as everything goes well on the road we will be in Grove City by dinner time!

:goodvibes

Good morning MAYers!

Safe travels Lake! See you soon! :goodvibes

Not much going on here today. Raining like crazy. But it is supposed to be nice tomorrow! :wizard:

The rain held off all day yesterday until right about 5:00. An hour before soccer try-outs. :sad2: It was just a light rain and they didn't cancel. I actually thought it might stop. But then it just rained harder and harder and at about 6:30 it was raining so hard you could hardly see so they finally ended the try-outs. DS was completely soaked. I felt so bad for him! So, they are going to shoot for another try-out next Wednesday night.

Lake - another thing to consider about your February trip - Spectro & Fantasmic might only be showing 2 times a week. So you may have to plan around those if you want to see them.
