Thank you...I thought you all would enjoy a "inside view" of it all.

BTW, she was stopped for an interview, but they wanted to speak to someone from out of the area.

Reportedly, there are 19 helicopters in the airspace around Forest Lawn and Staple Center.

I'll admit Michael Jackson wasn't one of my favorite artists, but I remember being in Grade 5 and buying Thriller.

I'll also admit that although I wasn't his biggest fan, he definitely left an undeniable and eternal mark on pop music, dance and music videos.

....

I have always wanted to ask you Sea... with living in LA you must see music, movie and tv stars and of course the paparazzi that come with them all the time. Do the paparazzi ever get in the way of your normal life and routines?

5th grade...OMG I am old...I was 21 and just married when I picked up Thriller. Not a big fan either, none of our family are. It is just the "experience" and "I was there" thing now.

My music tastes are quite wide...I couldn't listen to his stuff all day long.

Yes, the "paps" do get int he way. They will double park, block traffic, cause hazards, just so that they can get their shots. They roam the streets 24/7. Some of them have helicopters and will do "fly overs" to get their shots. They stand outside my parents church's preschool to get shots of Jennifer Garners kids all the time. It can get nutty at times.

Patricia- The tour guide bus passes are worth it. Some of them are good for 2 days and let you get on and off at different monuments and museums. When you are ready you just hop back on the next bus that comes along. The evening tour was nice too, seeing all the memorials and monuments lit up with lights.

Just my little tip. ;)

Do you remember which Hop On Hop Off tour you used? Maybe Tour Mobile or Old Town Trolley? I have looked at those but read lots of reviews that at peak tourists season, there is not room to get back on a bus once you hop off. What time of year were you there?

I am planning on doing a "Bike the Sites" tour, where you bike the sites at night. I think the kids will really enjoy that and we will move quickly from one monument to another. I also think they will enjoy the novelty of riding bikes in DC. I think you stop at each monument about 10 minutes and then jump back on your bike and the tour guide gives a small talk about each.

I do want to do a few tracings at the Vietnam Memorial. My husband's cousin gave his life for our country and his name is on the memorial. I would like to do the tracing and have the children sign and date it and send them to the siblings of the cousin. His mom and dad have both passed and think his siblings would all appreciate the gesture.

I am trying to get timed tickets to attractions before we go so that we can save time and not have to stand in as many lines.

What a great experience! I just watched the memorial. Very touching!

My wife just got home. It was a total "Hollywood" production to the extreme. Very slick.

She said when they walked out of SC there were hundreds of photogs and tv news cameras pointed at them. Every few feet they were approached by the media for an interview. My wife gave a couple of interviews, one to a Swedish TV station...LOL! She said it was crazy outside...people were pretty emotional...she just got out of there as fast as she could.

Evening MAYers.

I now have brand new carpet and laminate floors at the new house!! :cool1: Things are moving along nicely! :goodvibes 4 days til the big move!

We used Tour Mobile ( I think they are the only ones who will take you to Arlington) and we were there in October.

Hello MAYers!

Looks like another slow day in here. . . . where is everybody?

I have already broke a light bulb and a Home Interior sconce this morning. :sad2: I seem to be dropping everything for some reason. Not good when you are moving!

Hope all is well in MAYerland! :goodvibes

Morning Shelly!!!
Sorry to hear about your slippery fingers this morning.

Glad to hear all your flooring is done.
Just a few more days till your home sweet home as well.

The kids and I hauled over another load of stuff this morning. I tried to organize some stuff and I got some more blinds hung. If I keep making these trips over with the blazer loaded by Saturday we may just need the big stuff moved!

I can't wait to get all settled in and then start to think about fun things like our Pittsburgh meet and going to Disney!! :cool1:

I know exactly what you mean. Everything is starting to come together here, and its finally feeling like summer vacation. I was just looking on visitpittsburgh.com this morrning and planning our trip.

We did a lot of back and forth moves too with our vehicles. Then on the sunday we had my dad's truck and my brother in laws truck pulling trailers and we did two big runs to get all the appliances and couches ect...

Good Luck..I hope it all goes very well and super smooth for you.

hi Sulley!!!!!!

Summer is in full swing...WDW must be CRAZY!

At times it sure is, but not too bad really...The 4th was supposed to be crazy but wasn't really that bad. I actually wish it were a bit busier. The day moves so much better when we're busy :)

Hey Sulley!

How is the weather and crowds in November? It looks like our trip IS ON!! :cool1: November 7-15. We'll have to meet up. Sea may be there too!

I can't wait until we can enjoy the second half of the kids summer break. I feel like this move has taken over their whole summer.

I'm glad things went well for you guys during your move. I hope to have most of the boxes moved by Saturday. Then we are renting a Uhaul for Saturday plus some guys from DH's work are bringing their trucks.

Hooray!!! We most definitely will need to meet up :)

Last November wasn't that bad, especially the first half of the month. I remember going to the parks and being able to walk on to a lot of things, and only waiting 10-20 minutes for some of the bigger things that we didn't Fastpass.

Weather-wise it was nice. A little chilly for me personally, but I'm now a cold weather wimp and anything under 65 is bordering cold. :)
