YAY RF is back!! :cool1:

Can't wait to hear all about it. How were the crowds? I read on another thread from someone who goes every May that this was the most crowded she had seen it. :scared: I was hoping you didn't run into this!

Nope. Well, I saw the crowds.... LOL. But, the crowds weren't too bad for us except for or last day at MK. :scared1: That was crazy busy, but we knew where to be at what times ;) so we barely had a wait for anything the whole trip. The most that we waited for ANYTHING all week was about 25 or 30 minutes for TSM and about 20 minutes for Primevil Whirl.

The weather was beautiful for the first 4 days, very hot - but not humid. :goodvibes Then the last 4 days we would get rain from about 5-8pm :guilty: but that was usually when we were getting ready to go have dinner and only a little bit after. The only thing that was a little miserable was Fantasmic - it poured for about 2 hours before and then cleared up just in time for the show.

I was a little crabby at first about the rain :headache: - but then when I finally calmed down and realized that I couldn't control it either way - we threw on some ponchos, splashed in some puddles and made the most of it. :goodvibes

I'm glad you were able to stay away from the crowds. :goodvibes That stinks about the rain. :mad:I saw the forecast had rain for everyday, but that's always the forecast when we are there in May and we've never really had any rain to speak of, so I didn't really think you were getting too much. At least it just rained in the evenings and didn't ruin the whole day.

I can't wait to hear your awesomely amazing stories!! :woohoo:

Trix -

I see WDW and DL resorts and parks as totally different experiences.

We truly enjoyed going to WDW and felt like it so cool to experience Walt's dream of having a complete resort experience without the encroachment of the urban lifestyle. You really get the feeling that you are in a different time and place - away from your cares and concerns. The "largeness" of it all makes me feel I can expect a different experience every time I visit. There is always something new to see and do.

Is DL small? I don't think so - it has been growing for almost 55 years. There are now three resort hotels, a new DVC project almost done, a DTD that connects all this to both DL and DCA. Both parks are across from each, so it is just a short walking distance. Once you are inside the resort area, you are different world - Disney has really done a great job to immerse you even though the resort is in the middle of a huge populated area.

I think since you love Disney already, you would enjoy DL just as much as WDW. There are different experiences and things to see and do.

Hey RF! Welcome home! Glad to hear you had amazing time and can't wait to read your TR and see your pictures! Glad you got home safely - Sea

RF - Glad to hear you were able to meet up with Sulley! Did you take a pic together?

Shelly - I agree - my memory of lunch at school was gross. Bad scene!

Hey Mayers! What's Shakin'???? ME!!!! :rotfl2::cool1::lmao:

I was watching TV at my MIL's house when the earthquake hit. First it was a jolt, then a increasing shaking rumble for like 10-15 seconds. Nothing fell or broke at her house. At my place, a chair and some bags of chips fell off the fridge. Chris was home alone, he was a bit scared, but he was ok. 4.7 quake - a good size shaker - the firetrucks were out searching the city for damage, especially the freeways and overpasses. Cell phones lines were jammed for about an hour - couldn't make any calls, just text.

The epicenter was in Inglewood - which is near LAX. About 10-12 miles away from our house, so it was very close. The fault it happen on was the same fault that the big earthquake in Long Beach back in 1933. My grandmother experienced that one - 6.3!

My friends in San Diego and Riverside felt this quake - over 150 - 200 miles away. I haven't felt any aftershocks since the first shock - still though, it was a good reminder to make sure my earthquake stuff was ready. You never know if this could be a pre-courser to a bigger one in a couple hours, days, weeks or months.

Jo - May in California can be warm in the days and cool at night. Since you are near the ocean, expect the early morning haziness, which will burn off by 9 or 10. Definitely use sunscreen, even in the mornings, the UV goes through the haze and clouds. We have been having nice warm weather the last few weeks, so I expect it to be very nice when you come here. So bring those nice summer clothes, a sweater, and don't forget your flashlights, in case there is a shake or two. :)

Sea

Sea--- please do me a favor and request that no shaking go on while I am in Cali. 'Kay, thanks. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

And speaking of shaking--- during the last shaker, you guys had chips fall to their death from the top of the refrigerator --- you haven't placed them in a safer spot? Have ya gotten a look at the price of some Funions lately??????:upsidedow

J-
