Good morning Mayers!
Well, I was hoping that my new slide show would be uploaded by now, but alas, it isn't. Maybe later on today I will be able to put the link.
Had a very fun and surprising weekend!
Opening weekend of World of Color, DCA's new water show. We got down to DLR around 2:30 and heard the announcement of a third show added as we were entering the park. Got over to the Grizzly River Run fastpass area and got our tickets for the 11:15 pm show! We weren't expecting to see the show at all - in fact, we planned to do a dinner/show and could only get reservations for next Sunday, the 20th.
Since Disney is promoting the show on TV commercials out here, the show is very popular item and they are using the FP system to make sure everything is done orderly and safely. I am so glad they added an extra show!
After we got our tickets, Jeremy and my wife want to go to DL to ride some stuff together. Chris and I met up with some friends to test out my new camera. Well, I should have gone to DL! As they walk out of DCA, look who they bump into...
John Lasseter!!! They said he was very gracious and spoke to them briefly. Lucky ducks! They were were so excited - they were breathless when they called to tell me about it!
Well, I took quite a few pictures with the camera and got some amazing stuff with it. I know I still need to read more of the manual to really push the camera to it's limits. I am very happy with the HD video quality. The playback on my TV was very sharp and clear. To me, that was worth the purchase of the camera.
Jeremy called me later and said he saw Joan Cussak - the voice of Jessie in TS. A lot of Disney/Pixar celebrities are in town because of the WOC premier.
The only down side with the camera is battery life - fortunately I have two back ups because my old camera uses the same battery.

I was able to charge up the battery at the photo store on Main St. and rest for a while before going back to DCA to see WOC.
DCA also has a new event in the Hollywood section called "Glow Fest". Basically, it is a dance party on the street playing rave and techno music with a DJ and dancers. It is kind of funny hearing a Mylie Cyrus song in techno. But the Pogo-Pixar mash-ups are awesome! Overall, it worked - lots of Disney suits were watching it carefully since they had never done it before. I will post pictures and some video of that later.
Well now it was time for WOC! They had us line up an hour before the show. Very well organize and the CM's were very helpful. The previous show's crowd exited in about 15 minutes and they had us move in as they cleared out. What could be a logistic nightmare, turned out to be very smooth - all considering that there is a lot of construction going on in that area.
And then show starts...
Simply put, the show is AMAZING and AWESOME. The technology and the art created with this technology is beautifully executed. It is something you can't just see once and then move on. The colors are intensely bright and beautiful -unlike anything I have seen before. In many ways, you think you are dreaming, because, you can't believe that they are doing what they are doing. The fountains look like they are pouring out light. The music surrounds you and fits perfectly with the movement of the fountains and scenes. And then there are lasers and fire too! Simply put, you have to see this. It is a fantastic experience for any Disney fan.
We were standing near the bridge of Paradise Pier and it was a good position and could see everything. Some friends of ours were center position near the front and got pretty wet.
I give the show FIVE STARS!

I can't wait to see it next weekend again!
That's all for now...got to go to an appointment....Sea
