These Are The MAYS of our Lives- The MAYers, Part VI

Frankenmuth...yep.
Time to plan.

A weekend in February or march is good with us.
We are not doing Florida in March, so we are open to pretty much any dates suggested.

We've never stayed there, so we are up for it.

Frankenmuth won't require a super amount of planning. :lmao:

I got some brochures when I was there for you Lake and Shelly. Now where did I put them??? I wonder if they're in my Bronner's bag? Hmmm...anyway, when I find them, I'll let you know what they are and if you want me to send them to you, I'd be happy to. :goodvibes

I informed DH this afternoon that we'll be going there in the spring to meet some more imaginary friends and he just laughed. I'm not quite sure what to think about that! :rotfl2:

I need to look at our calendar and see what's up for February/March. I can tell you that the weather may be crappy for traveling in February...well, it could be in March, too, I guess. So never mind. :rolleyes1

Morning-

Sea- glad you made it back on dry land! Can't wait to hear about your fun time!:goodvibes

Shelly- I *think* you know who might be gone. We ran them off. haha:goodvibes Serves them right if that's the case.
I take back what I said about the pic at POR and Christmas cards--- that one with the boys in front of the tree is gorgeous! Cards indeed!:goodvibes Can't wait for your whole TR!:)

Mari- been praying for your sister. I hope they can get a handle on whatever it is quickly. Those pics are adorable-- I never saw the castle that color-- do you know what year it was?

Hello to everyone else----
we are going to church today and then decorating for Christmas... seems we are last on our block to do it.
Hosting T'day dinner at our house for our friends.... last minute decision- their plans to go home to GA fell through. So-- we'll be cooking up a storm.

Along a different line of thinking....
we are only 12 1/2 hrs driving distance from Vail Colorado.
Who Knew?????????????
We're in the early stages of planning a long weekend trip.:goodvibes

I've never been to Colorado before other than flying thru Denver.:goodvibes

Jo - Thank you for the way you helped Shelly on her TR. Glad you were there to do it, and make those nasty people realise they were inconsiderate and rude. I'm glad that I could say my piece when I could as well. Not just that they messed with a Mayer, but that they would be so inappropriate to anyone. UGH!!!!

Shelly - I love the picture of the boys in front of the tree. Christmas card worthy indeed.

As I said...we are available weekends both months as it stands now.
So let the planning begin.
Our March break from school is the week of march 15th.
Not sure Jason planned on taking time off then though...I think he'd prefer to do a long weeeknd, rather than mid week.

Did we plan to all stay at the same place?
Is the waterpark an option?
Is ther alot of other things to do as a family, and a group?

Happy Sunday MAYers!

We are having some beautiful sunny weather here this weekend. It's almost 60 out!

Yes, thanks for the support on the OKW thread JO, and everyone who chimed in. How totally inappropriate that person was. And I was just reading another thread where some poor lady was asking about babysitting options at WDW so her and her DH could go to Epcot for a little bit alone and she is totally getting reamed out for it. I'll never understand some people. . . :sad2: Do they wake up each morning thinking about how rude they can be?

Great pictures Mari! How's your sister doing today?

Yes, Lake & Trix -- Frankenmuth!! We're up for just about anything. It would be fun if we could all stay at the same hotel. Any ideas? Trixie? You would know best. What all is there to do? Just shop? Are we doing the waterpark? Are we going to dinner? :yay:

JO -- A Colorado trip sounds lovely. My grandma lived there for years. She loved it. I never made it out there. Never been out west period. :confused3 Someday.

Looking at Feb & March for the MI trip -- my kids are off Feb 12-15 for winter break and then March 12-15 for spring break. Which is so dumb, it will not be spring here by then!! But anyway, we were looking at one of those weekends. We would like DH to use only 1 vacation day from work if any. Gotta save those days for Disney you know!! But those would be the best weekends for us since the kids have Friday & Monday off. I know MI could get hit with a snowstorm either of those months though. . . But after that we are back into soccer in April/May. So we would be looking at waiting until June. . .

How many days/nights do you guys think we will need?

Let me know what you guys think. In the one brochure I have it only lists a few hotels: Bavarian Inn Lodge, Drury Inn & Suites, Fairfield Inn, Springhill Suites, and Frankenmuth Motel. . . The rest are Bed & Breakfasts. Oh and there is the Zehnder's Splash Village Hotel & Waterpark, but those places are usually way over priced. But then again I haven't really checked prices.

Yes Trix, if you have any more info please send it to me! That reminds me, did you get your little package yet???

Okay, where is everybody???

Are all your kids off school this week? Mine have school today and tomorrow and a half day on Wednesday. Then they are off through Monday.

I need to run to Walmart here pretty soon. House needs cleaned. And I need to finish up on calling for volunteers for the Santa's Workshop at the school. It starts the Tuesday after the break. Busy day! Oh and I would like to maybe start my TR today too. :faint:

Did a little more Disney math over the weekend. . . So *IF* I would happen to get the elusive 20, 30, 40% off PIN for next year (or perhaps it will be open to the general public for November again), and we decide to book Deluxe I would be better off using the 40% off pin, saving $1200+, rather than the $900+ saved by free dining. . . But if we book Moderate we would be better off taking advantage of free dining, saving the $900+, over the $500 the 30% off pin would save us. . . Make sense???

Yes, yes, and... yes.:goodvibes My kiddos are off- but you already knew that.:) Yes, the Disney Math makes soooooo much sense and pssst..... how much of a savings is it btwn the mod and deluxe?;)
And yes, you definitely should start a TR. I've been trying to come up with a name for you. I think you should start out with that Picture of Tigger holding your hand. That is the cutest thing I've seeen in a long time.:lovestruc "Bouncing our way thru 9 days (is that how many days it was?) of Free Dining"

Or...

"Two resorts, free dining, and a Bouncing Tigger who stole my heart"

Something like that. That pic will suck 'em in.;)

Morning to NC and everyone else!

We... well.... Mark really;) decorated the outside of the house last night. Then we ran to Johnny Carino's for dinner and went to Lowe's and bought two more Christmas trees- one can never have too many- I needed one for my Dining room- then came home and set one of them up.

I have to get busy decorating today. We only have 26 days until we leave - I don't know why we even bother other than I like to do it. We'll get our real tree for the Family room today or tomorrow.
Whew- Mark said I was pushing him hard on his vacation. He loves it as much as me.

Ah, Shelly- Colorado!~ :goodvibes I don't know if it will work out- I really want to go. I found this really neat ranch that you can go to one evening for a sleigh ride thru the valley under the blankets- people say it's wonderful- and then come back to their ranch for a big BBQ type buffet and line dancing. Doesn't it sound CUTE?????? I thinbk the kids would rememebr it forever.
There are caves and such as well we could tour- and if there's still snow- we might let the kids try skiing. I used to love it- but now with my health problems I've had, I dare not do anything that strenuous.:goodvibes Of course Mark has skiied the Alps many times so he'd be good. I'd sit at the lodge and drink cocoa and watch.

ANd then I suppose we'd go to Colorado Springs to the Air Force Academy to see where my FIL went to school- I think Drew would love that.

So I'm guessing we could potentially fill a whole week.

I dunno. Still a work in progress.

Have a great day everyone!!!! Shelly - get that TR going girl! ::yes::

Jo

Morning Mayers! Had a minute to pop in and catch up. I took a few days off to catch up on some stuff. Got my house cleaned, bought some Christmas presents, prepped for turkey day, made plans to visit my Grandmom in Virginia this weekend- so excited for this!!! And in my spare time I finished my DD's Age 1 scrapbook album...finally! She's going to be 3 in Feb. :rolleyes1 AND I only have 2 more pages on my DS's Age 4 album left!!!!! I feel like a new woman getting so much done! :lmao:

Shelly- Geez I missed all the drama on your OKW thread. Sorry a *know it all* tried to ruin your unbiased review. :headache: Way to go Mayers for utting her in her place.

Sea- Good to hear you're back safe and sound! Can't wait to see pics from your cruise!

Mari- I hope you're sister is on the road to recovery :flower3: I love the old school Disney pics!

Hope everyone is well! Happy almost Turkey Day to all!!!

I'm noticing more and more people are using the internet as an excuse to be a jerk. Just because you aren't talking to the person face to face, there is no reason to act like a Bratty McRuderson.

I am thinking about putting up Christmas decorations today.

I need to find inspiration to decorate. I didn't really decorate last year because Eliska had started to crawl and I just knew she'd destroy the tree. Well this year, my latest excuse is that she's running and climbing over everything. I would die if she broke one of my collectible Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments.

I need to find a nice way to put up a tree AND keep the baby safe and happy. I've had pack n plays recommended but the idea of putting my tree in there...I don't like it. It would obscure a good portion of the tree and the pack n play isn't exactly festive.

Jo

Well, the savings between the moderate at 30% off (CBR pirate room) and a standard YC or BWI room at 40% off is over $700. I'm trying not to point that one out to DH. :rotfl:

Love the title ideas JO!! :thumbsup2 Thanks! I have been thinking about the 2 resorts, free dining, etc., but hadn't given any thought to the Tigger thing!

The Colorado thing sounds wonderful. :cloud9: I hope you get to go!

Glad you are all caught up on things! Love your DD's album! I really need to work onthe boys albums this winter. I think I said that last winter though. :confused3

Yes, you missed some action on the OKW thread. Good grief. :sad2:

Kids are home all week here.

I am thinking about putting up Christmas decorations today.

I bought a Christmas gift this morning!!!

I actually bought a Christmas present today!! Some Star Wars toy for DS8. And I even bought some Christmas lights for outside. We had colored lights at the other house but I am thinking white lights might look nicer here. So I bought 800!

Bratty McRuderson :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know, one poster even said to the OP -- I hope this thread is a joke.
All because she asked about babysitting options.

I feel bad for that lady. I'm bringing along my own babysitter (read: my mom) on our upcoming Disney trip and plan to have her at WDW too simply so Jeremiah and I can go off and have alone time. People forget that parents need 'me' time too otherwise they go INSANE!

Btw, where is this OKW thread y'all kept talking about. I want to go read!
