I posted something on here. :sad2: People are so rude on this board sometimes. I don't understand the need to ream her out. She wasn't asking about the *morality* of what she was doing. She asked for advice on the services. I am so tired of 'holier than thou' people. Ugh! Get over youselves!

I know. What is up with all the know-it-alls lately?

Holy crap!! I just got the 20, 30, 40% off PIN!!! Good for lots of dates in 2010, including the November dates we are looking at!! :cool1:

It came in an email and says ~

Hello ______ Family

We’re excited you’re thinking about another stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Come back and experience another colorful island vacation full of fantasy and fun for the whole family!

Click above to check out the Resort photos we picked just for you.

Book now to complete your vacation plans! Or, click here to view other dates and accommodations.

And it lists the dates I had just been messing around with on the WDW website. I have vacations priced out for YC, BW, WL, and CBR. I'm surprised they are trying to sell me CBR and not the others. . .

Sweet!!!! GO go PIN foo!

Maybe come this May I need to start saving and deleting a ton of different vacations to try to finally get a WDW PIN.

Wow Disney really misses me already. :rotfl: I just got another email telling me to visit any time from now through December and get 28% off Values and 39% off OKW & SSR.

:faint:

I'm noticing more and more people are using the internet as an excuse to be a jerk. Just because you aren't talking to the person face to face, there is no reason to act like a Bratty McRuderson.

I need to find inspiration to decorate. I didn't really decorate last year because Eliska had started to crawl and I just knew she'd destroy the tree. Well this year, my latest excuse is that she's running and climbing over everything. I would die if she broke one of my collectible Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments.

I need to find a nice way to put up a tree AND keep the baby safe and happy. I've had pack n plays recommended but the idea of putting my tree in there...I don't like it. It would obscure a good portion of the tree and the pack n play isn't exactly festive.

When my kids were little, I had stuffed animals that I put under the tree. One was a Rudolph that played "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" as well as a frosty who played his song as well. The kids were always so interested in the stuffed toys that they left the tree alone. Our tree didn't get turned over until Chloe was about 3. We had a real tree that year and I actully think it wasn't very stable in it's base that year. It also turned over once while no one was home.

I actually bought a Christmas present today!! Some Star Wars toy for DS8. And I even bought some Christmas lights for outside. We had colored lights at the other house but I am thinking white lights might look nicer here. So I bought 800!

There is a star wars lego at Target for $20 now thru Friday. If Chris were younger, I would be all over that.

Early this morning, I bought a Wii at Target, they had 12. I went this afternoon with the kids and they were out.

I feel bad for that lady. I'm bringing along my own babysitter (read: my mom) on our upcoming Disney trip and plan to have her at WDW too simply so Jeremiah and I can go off and have alone time. People forget that parents need 'me' time too otherwise they go INSANE!

Btw, where is this OKW thread y'all kept talking about. I want to go read!

I feel bad for her too! You know, she and her husband may work opposite shifts, they may live far from family, and just don't get time for themselves. You just never know.

People need to get over themselves.

Evening MAYers!

Been decorating all day.
It looks llike Christmas threw up all over my house. ANd I haven't even gone to get my tree yet.
There are rubbermaid tubs filling every square inch of space with garland and lights hanging out of them.
I'll never get it all done before Thursday.
:sad2:

Shelly- glad you started your TR! Can't wait to read all about your adventures! I can't believe that you got a pin already! Go on and book it and pay it off, girl. Then you can start putting $$ into the Disney fund.:cool1:

People are indeed rude. And self righteous. I'm really tired of it actually.:scared:
People think that b/c they sit behind the anonymity of their computer screens, it gives them the right to say what they'd never in real life say to someone's face. It's absurd.

Okay- gotta run. I have some cleaning left to do.

Have a good night all---
Mari-- an update please on your sis? Praying all is well.
Sea--- You home yet????

Umm...Jo? Thursday is Thanksgiving, not Christmas! You're not supposed to have it all done by Thursday! (General Trixie says Friday is fine.) ;)

Well, I decided that 3 weeks is long enough for me to day I am never having another party at my house.

I just sent out Facebook invites for our 1st annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!

I am now trying to think of fun Christmas party games. Any suggestions? I am definitely not wanting this party to be as wild and obnoxious as the Halloween party - but I don't want it to be super formal and pretentious either.

I am thinking that I am going to set up a 'picture booth' (think prom pictures in front of a dropcloth decorated really obnoxiously) and take everyone's pic when they come in with their ugly sweater and have the prize for the ugliest outfit be a pair of super tacky Christmas socks or something.

I need some good games, or something.... I'm thinking of kicking it old school and rocking some Pictionary or Charades or something...

Anyone? :goodvibes

Hello from 32,000 ft over Oklahoma!

Finally got to use one our laptops. LOL!

3 more hours until we land. 6.5 hours of flying today.

I will be uploading the pictures tomorrow when I get some rest and time.

It was a wonderful time with our family. We saw a lot of amazing things. Can't wait to share them with you.

Looking forward to reading the past posts and catching up with Shelly's trip.

Morning... I apologize for this being another fly by posting!!!!
It's a busy week at our house.
Yesterday I spent the day at the Department of Motor Vehicles renewing our licenses and getting our plate stickers... lets just say not a fun event.
Today though, I am headed into town to the mall to meet up with my friend Cathy for some girl talk, some shopping and coffee.
Emmy is having a grandma day, she's so excited to see her, Ethan is at school ( no holiday here of course), and then tonight it's movie group night...and NEW MOON it is.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great holiday week.

Morning!

Lake- have a fun day with your girlfriend--- I'm taking Mcat to see New Moon tonight as well.

Sea- hope you are home and not exhausted.

I'm on my way to make coffee and try to make some sense out of this disaster in my house.:rotfl:
General Trixie.... I HAD to decorate before Turkey day- Mark took this whole week off and if I try to cram it all in on Friday and Saturday and Sunday it would make for an unhappy Marky indeed.:goodvibes AS it is, Homeboy is happy and laughing and whistling a tune- very relaxed --- even as he's lugging tub after tub of stuff up from under the house-------- it's a good thing.:goodvibes
Gotta do what ya can for the sake of the fam.:rotfl2:

Hello to everyone else!

Jo

Morning MAYers!

Welcome home Sea! :goodvibes

Not much going on here this morning. Just laundry. Then I have to take DS8 to the pediatric ophthalmologist this afternoon. They said that where he is at age 8 is all the better his condition will get. So we will see. . . I sure wish this would have been caught at a younger age and we would have had more time to correct it.

Maybe I'll work on the TR a bit today. I just posted a small update. Nothing exciting though.

DH didn't seem to be as excited about my PIN as I was. . . :confused3 But he had worked very late and it was late when I told him and he said -- we'll talk about it tomorrow. What do you suppose that means??? :confused3 I know he will be fine with booking a moderate, but he probably won't see the need to book a deluxe. And in the end I will probably agree with him. I for some reason always back out of booking the deluxes. Afraid of spending all that money and being disappointed I guess. But we'll see what happens. . . :wizard:

Pictionary and Charades are always fun.

We used to do things like White Elephant Exchange (I think that was the name of it.) Everyone brings a truly tacky wrapped gift, like a Chia pet or the singing fish or an ugly tie, etc. Then this part is from Wiki:

Gifts are wrapped, but are not labeled to reflect a specific sender or recipient. Gifts are typically inexpensive, humorous items, or used items from home; the term white elephant refers to a gift whose maintenance cost exceeds its usefulness. While the first use of this term remains an item of contention among historians[1], a popular theory suggests that Ezra Cornell brought the term into popular lexicon through his numerous and frequent social gatherings, dating back to as early as 1828.[2][3]

All participants draw a number (from a hat, perhaps) to determine their order. An alternative to the drawing is to sit in a circle and take turns in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

The participant with #1 unwraps any gift from the pile and then shows it to everyone. Each successive participant, in the order determined from the drawing, or in clockwise or counterclockwise order, can either 1) "steal" an already opened gift (if there's one they really like) or 2) be adventurous and go for a wrapped gift from the pile. If the participant chooses to steal, the person whose gift is stolen now repeats his turn and either 1) steals another person's gift (he cannot immediately steal back the gift that was just stolen from him) or 2) unwraps a new gift.

This cycle of stealing can sometimes continue for a long time, until a new gift is chosen, at which point the turn is passed to the participant with the next number from the drawing, or whoever is next in the circle, whichever arrangement is chosen.

Since items can be stolen, the item in your possession is not yours until the game is over. However, this is often amended with a rule declaring a gift "dead" or "safe" after it has been stolen a certain number of times (usually two or three). This helps the process go more smoothly (avoiding, for example, the hypothetical scenario of the same gift being stolen by every successive participant) and limits the disadvantage of being among the first to choose gifts. The game is over once all names have been withdrawn from the hat.

[edit] Variants
The person who picked first also has the option of picking last or keeping the gift already in hand. After they exchange or decide to keep their gift, the turn ends and there is no additional swapping.

Another version of the game requires two decks of playing cards. Both decks are shuffled individually and one of them is completely dealt to the players. (If there is a odd lot of cards to players, some cards can just be omitted.) After that, one person flips the top card of the remaining deck; whoever has that card then takes a gift. The next card is flipped then that person takes a gift or takes someone else's gift. This continues until the entire deck is exhausted.

Another variant extends the game further: after the last person's turn, the first person has the option of keeping whose current gift (in which case the game ends), or swap with anyone else. If who chooses to swap, next person now has the option of either keeping the gift, or swapping. In this variant, the game only ends when either someone keeps the gift, or a gift has exceeded its trading limit.

Another variant allows the game to be played online using comment streams, linked images

I think one year we exchanged tacky gifts we received at our wedding!

Chris went to see New Moon this weekend. A group of girls invited him and a couple of other boys! I didn't know he wanted to see New Moon so I asked him about it. He told me it wasn't so much about seeing this movie but about seeing the people who are going to the movie. I hope I don't have another romance on my hands. :lovestruc:eek:
