Who would wait in that line?:eek::eek:

Seriously, we won't wait in a line that is more than 45 minutes. And we usually won't even do that!

Well, obviously we didn't learn our lesson in 2005 and had to repeat it in 2006.
:lmao:

LOL- the line to the bathrooms are 30 minutes long. I'm so not kidding you.

Now if a ride says more than 20 minutes, I pass it.

YUCK! Look at all those people. :scared1: People really annoy me. We ran across more rude people this trip than ever before, and it wasn't even crowded. I can't imagine what it would be like with that many people there. :sad2:

Oh, and how about this -- We flew back with SW. You know 3 seats on each side of the isle. We prefer AT for the one side with 2 seats, then we don't have to sit with any smelly people. So anyway, we board and find our seats and are happy to have 2 rows one right behind the other, but know that we are going to each have a stranger in our row. DS10 and I get a hairy man. Quiet and didn't smell. We were pleased. This very loud lady sits down next to DH & DS8 and her DH sits on the end seat in the row across from her. They have 2 babies. So they are a party of 4 who have paid for 2 seats. :sad2: The older baby screamed his head off for 2 hours straight from Orlando to Pittsburgh. OMG what a nightmare. Now tell me just why people think they need to travel with a 12 month old and a 21 month old??? We would have never done such a thing. We wouldn't have put ourselves though it or anyone else through it. And apparently they do it all the time because she was telling the flight attendant about how when they fly from Italy they make the babies have their own seat. :faint: Good grief, how about staying home for a few years lady!!!

Okay, rant over. I told you people annoy me! :lmao:

So I need to write this down (or well in this case, type this down) to start getting the 'plan' ingrained in my head. Here's our plan for DLR.

Thursday, 12/3
Arrive at Disneyland Hotel approximately around 2pm. Check in and wait on my mom to arrive around 3pm. This will probably be the longest hour ever. So close to the parks, but so unable to go!

We should be hitting Disneyland around 4/4:30pm. We will immediately head over to Fantasyland and ride Dumbo. After that, we'll just go where we want so long as it includes the Nightmare Before Christmas overlayed Haunted Mansion :p Though Jeremiah will be sent to run and get us FPs for Space Mountain.

We'll eat dinner where ever we want that day. No reservations.

We'll hang around the park (baby permitting) until 8:45 for the fireworks show and then head back to the hotel for sleep!

Friday, 12/4
Wake up way too early in the morning to make it to the 8am opening and immediately hit Fantasyland. Jeremiah gets to use those legs again and run for FPs to...Space Mountain (we are a bit obsessed).

More playing it by ear until we have lunch at the Carnation Cafe.

Post lunch is nap time!

More parks after the nap followed by dinner at Goofy's kitchen.

After dinner, kids, mom and Aunt will go back to the rooms while Jeremiah and I hit the parks yet AGAIN and go to our dessert seating of Fantasmic.

Eventually we'll make our way back to the hotel and sleep.

Saturday, 12/5

We'll be at the parks even EARLIER for a 7am Magic morning. Fantasyland until about 10am when we'll switch to Disney California Adventure for a little bit.

Lunch is at Ariel's Grotto for the Princess character meal.

Post-lunch is nap time followed by, you guessed it, more parks.

That night Jeremiah and I are going out to dinner with friends that live in the Southern California area.

Sunday, 12/6
Early morning, omg only for Disney, hours at 7am. Make the usual circuit of rides, FPs, etc.
Lunch is at Ralph Brennan's Jazz kitchen (bring on the bananas foster please!) in Downtown Disney.
Nap, then more park until dinner at the Blue Bayou in the Pirates of the Caribbean (I really wish they had a restaurant in the ride at WDW too!).

Monday, 12/7

Go home and cry.

Now tell me just why people think they need to travel with a 12 month old and a 21 month old???

People annoy me too.

That being said, we fly with Eliska all the time. I do, however, ALWAYS buy her a seat on the plane. It's just safer and more pleasant for the child if they are buckled into their car seat (or CARES harness) rather than sitting on your lap being a wiggling mess. I can't understand maybe not buying a seat for a newborn if you are going to wear them on the flight. But I do think that once a child starts to be mobile, they need to be in their own seat and held down by some kind of safety restraint. It will just make you both much happier!

I don't we could wait to travel until Eliska is older. I've just done a TON of research and found the things that work for us when we travel.

I've actually had people compliment me on how good Eliska did on a flight as we were deplaning. It was as if they were shocked that a well behaved infant/toddler was on the plane. They probably were rolling their eyes (like I did many a time before I had kids) when they found a young child was going to be sitting in front/behind them. Of course, usually on those flights, I've felt like she's been a little demon child from the planet whine. But it's good to hear that others didn't feel that way!

/
How did you determine which one they needed? It looks like we have the choice on this form. . . I'm not a doctor, how do I know what's best??? I guess the mist is best if you don't have asthma? :confused3

Asthma as well as allergy kids were given the shot at our school. The health department determined who needed what by how you filled out the form. We already knew DS would need the shot. Our A&A doctor told us early in the season.

Shelly- the mist is a live virus- so those with weak immune systems should not get it. They get the shot.

Healthy persons get the mist and do fine.

If your child is under the age of ten, they have to get two doses though to be covered.

They are coming back to our school to reimmunize those under the age of 10 so that they get their second dose.

Sounds like you'd need to add Depends onto the pre-trip checklist for a trip at Christmas time.

:rotfl2:

Exactly. That older child would have been so much happier if he had some space. All he wanted was to get down. He was kicking and screaming his head off. I felt bad for hairy guy sitting in my row because that kid kicked the crap out of his seat the whole time. He handled it much better than I would have. And DH said that the kid had big boots on. Why in the heck didn't she take his boots off? Maybe he would have been more comfortable and he certainly wouldn't have been able to kick that poor man's seat so hard. :sad2:

And that's just it. You know your own child. We would have never traveled with DS10 when he was a baby. He was just like that kid, cried a lot and couldn't sit still. Now DS8 on the other hand was the best baby ever. Hardly ever cried or acted up. But we chose to wait until they were both more self sufficient and potty trained before we traveled far with them. Had we just had DS8 we probably would have been able to do a lot more.

Sounds like you'd need to add Depends onto the pre-trip checklist for a trip at Christmas time.

Absolutely. I swear I know the location of the nearest bathroom in WDW no matter where I am at any given time!

:rotfl:
People in general annoy me as well.:lmao:

:lmao:
I think if it had've been me I would have had the seating arrangement of DS8-you-DS10- then aisle --then your DH by himself across from you.
I try very hard not to sit with strangers--- i know that must have been so uncomfortable. Gross.

That said....
By the time Belle was a year old- she had more frequent flier miles than most adults.
Her first plane ride was at 3 months old- her first 18 hour drive was at 2 months old.:rotfl2: We never stayed home with the kids--- they've always traveled extensively with us- and I think b/c of it, have always been ready and excited to go when I say "trip"!
I was worried that first time I had to travel by plane with her when she was 3 months old by myself- she was in a baby bjorn, Drew was in the stroller and Mcat was pulling suitcases- we had to connect thru Atlanta. Very interesting!

That said....

:)

We usually try to sit in a row to ourselves so that we don't have to sit next to stink/talky/overflow into your seat strangers.

Eliska had flown 2 times by the time she was a year. Her first flight was also around 3 months. I was extremely nervous about it as I was traveling by myself and I had no idea how she was going to do on the plane. She slept the whole way like an angel. The man in front of her on the way home asked me if I had drugged her or something. :lmao:

She's since flown 3 more times and is wracking up those frequent flyer miles. Baby has to earn her own upgrade for our WDW trip!

Oh my you can certainly Shelly is BACK!!! 4 pages today!!! :rotfl:
I spent my morning praying that my fridge wasn't going up. It hasn't been staying cold on the fridge side. The guy came and $80 later apparently at some point the freezer wasn't closed all the way started defrosting a little and the vents that make the cold air go from the freezer to the fridge side are iced over. We have to turn it off and defrost it. Good thing I just stocked up on frozen veggies on sale. :headache:

It's good being your FB friend.....

I am not sure what this means... :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

:rotfl2:
I was having trouble matching real names to DIS screen names  The shift from imaginary DIS person to real person with a face and name was messing me up. :rolleyes1

Jo- I hope you're feeling better soon. Here's one big blanket *Bless you* to cover today's sneezes.

Shelly- A quick December trip sounded like fun until those pics were posted. I could not handle a crowd like that. I'd have a panic attack! :scared1:

We've always thought about going in the first week of December after the Turkey Day rush and before the Christmas rush. How are the crowds then?

Crazy about the flight! What are some people thinking??? Part of the reason we choose to drive is that we can stop and stretch as we please. We started driving to FL when DS was 6 months. No way was I getting on a plane with him. We loved driving so much now we don't even consider flying. We make it a fun road trip and save a good bit of money too.

RF- Congrats on hitting the gym and for losing 6 more lbs. :cool1: I always feel better after exercising but never am motivated enough to actually do it.

VB Fans! The small Tic-Tac-Tote is on sale for $19, in all colors, for 3 days only! 65% off!
ooooh so tempting! I wish they'd put my purple punch wallet on sale! It's on my Christmas list of things to buy myself.;)
So have any of you/or are any of you getting your kids the H1N1 vaccine? Our school is offering it but I just don't know what to do. Being that it is so new it really scares me. But so does H1N1!
My DS is supposed to get the mist through school but they haven't gotten it in yet. I'm waiting for the ped to get it in for DD. I've heard so many conflicting stories about the safety of the vaccine. The shot contains thimerosol and some people have reactions to it. Like a 33 year old woman who is now a vegetable. :sad2: They didn't say if she had any underlying conditions before she got the vaccine though. There's also that questionable link to thimerosol and autism. I still think it's safer than getting H1N1 though so we are getting the vaccine...if it's available at some point soon that is. :scared:

Sooooooo coooooooool! I know where all of those places are!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay::lovestruc

Sounds like she's well on the way. Lemme lemme lemmme upgrade ya --- Beyonce....:lmao:
I forgot about another HUGE trip we took when Belle was only 7 months old-- New York City and to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade!!!! We were there for a week- we walked alllllllll over NYC, Times Square, got up at 3 am to go be on the Today Show when Shania Twain was performing (It was freeeeeezing- I ended up in People Magazine b/c of it- a man who looked like secret service asked me how many people were in my group and he ushered us up to a sectioned off area right up at the stage- we were all over the tv!:happytv: there was Belle- smiling and waving!)- we did the parade- she sat in her Baby Bjorn and smiled thru the whole thing!:rotfl: Yep- the kiddos are definitely well traveled.:rotfl:

Oh my you can certainly Shelly is BACK!!! 4 pages today!!! :rotfl:

Hope your fridge is okay now! Sorry you had to pay that $$ for it to be set to rights.

Don't even get me started on vaccines. I am not a pleasant one to talk to about them.
Let me just say that Belle was a happy 18 month old who had a huge appetite and was completely normal- one dose of the MMR shot, she had a huge rxn/ broke out in measles all over her body- even in her ears- and after two weeks of being sick- she refused to eat a thing. She has since been dx'ed with Sensory processing Disorder- it is on the Autistic Spectrum. Yes, In my heart of hearts, I believe it had to do with that shot.

No my children do not get the flu shots. ever.

Jo

I feel the need to say I hate people again.

I'm coming back from lunch and get the elevator. I notice 2 ladies coming somewhat behind me. The elevators in the building are often slow to come when called so I hold the elevator for their leisurely strolling selves.

Both ladies get in the elevator, do not so much as look at me and refrain from saying 'thank you'.

Grrrrrrrrr! Manners people!

How about this one. . .

So we are standing in front of Casey's Corner at MK waiting for them to open for lunch at 11:00. A little crowd starts to form behind us, but we are definitely first in line for when they open up. The CM's come out and we all sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" and they each have one bag of Cracker Jacks to hand out. One CM hand his to DS10. DS8 is still standing right up there in the front and there are grown adults reaching their hands in front of him grabbing for freaking Cracker Jacks. :sad2: Seriously people? Come on. These people were just about to knock an 8 year old out of their way to get a free snack. I just looked at DH in disbelief and shook my head. One CM did eventually give her bag to DS8, but I just couldn't believe what I had just seen.

Jo I didn't know about Belle. I know the government denies it but there is NO question in my mind that the two aren't related. My friend's son has Sensory Processing Disorder too and has been diagnosed with aspergers and he was a healthy boy until the vaccine too. I've watched him a few times and he makes me a nervous wreck every time he falls on the playground. I check him all over to be sure he isn't hurt because he laughs when he's supposed to cry or sometimes doesn't register the pain at all. It's a shame so many little lives have been effected and our government still ignores it. Same with this stuff about BPA...but that's for another day on the soapbox. :rolleyes1

Or how about those lovely people that you hold the door for and they don't even mutter a little thank you. That's when I very loudly say *YOU'RE WELCOME!*

Awwwww Shelly thanks for the preview. It's so beautiful! My next trip will be when all those Christmas decorations are up. I mean it!

Ridiculous. Amazing how some adults act sometimes. I know we all turn into kids at Disney but that's taking it a bit too far. :sad2:

I was sooo tempted I tell you.

No kidding! It really makes me sad that some parents are not taking the time and effort to teach children manners. It has translated into rude little brats I want to smack and grown up adults I want to neck punch.

There are things I see these days I could have NEVER done as a child. My mother would have slaughtered me.

Ugh..ok, now I feel old. That was so a 'kids these days' moment.
