Hi guys. Sorry it's been a while.

There's been some shenanigans at the Rusafee household.

The party was a lot of fun.... but I think I am realizing I am too old for this crap. I had a house full of super drunk ridiculous people - throwing up, breaking stuff.... Ugh. I'm over it. I am still cleaning up the wreckage.

yep, honey...been there, done that. I think everyone gets to the point where, "whoo hoo a party" gets overridden by "no way am I cleaning up after a bunch of drunk bozos." At least MOST people get to that point

Today is Chloe's birthday.

I'm sick!

The kids have orthodonic appointments.

And Shelly only has 3 days til she goes to Disney world.

Well not that I was excited before about the upcoming DL trip, but now I'm excited squared. It does look like Fantasmic is happening after all. They just haven't posted the schedule yet (as Sea predicted). I got the last 2 tickets for the dessert seating on the night I wanted to go. Wooowooo!

So Belle's teacher just shared with me that she is going to be out for two days this week, having surgery for some female problems.
I as well as four other moms are the Homeroom parents (We don't have one HR Mom ,per se, more of a committee type thing).
I'd like to share this with the other moms and maybe get a flower arrangement or something together from the class-- maybe soem get well cards.

Problem is- I don't know if she's shared any of this with any of the other moms. She and I have gotten a bit close- emailing back and forth and such, she tutors Belle.

So-- what would you do? Would you say something to the other moms to try to get something together? She is a phenomenal teacher--the kids all adore her--- and also very young so she is worried about this surgery a lot.

Do you have to specifically mention what surgery she is going in for? If you could avoid that, I would say go ahead and tell some of the other moms.

Howdy MAYers!!!

Hope all is well.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Chloe! She is now officially 12. I can't believe it. Time flies.

Busy day today. I had a cookbook meeting at the school this morning, where I picked up about 50 recipes to enter into the computer.

Tomorrow night, our high school is playing their rival. It is supposed to be televised on ESPN U. I think Michael Dyer may announce before the game or after the game which university he is going to commit to. He is one of the top running backs in the nation. Lots of rumors flying around about this.

I am meeting with a lady about drapes for my dining room this afternoon, which means I need to clean my house.

I think I am a little too busy today!



Jo, I think Tas suggested exactly what I might do.

Thanks for all the compliments about the pumpkins. I have to give credit where credit is due...my DH did the actual carving. I just poked the patterns in and traced them so they were reading for him . I was mostly prep (although he couldn't have done it without me).

Trixie- glad to hear your girls are feeling better! Those pumpkins were gorgeous! Did I spy a little Michael Phelps in there I'm more of a Harry Potter kind of girl myself.

You sure did see MP in there! I found a better pattern but it was much harder...maybe next year when we have better tools!

Trix... hope you're having fun in Frankenstein -- whatever it's called.

I garlic, but I'd give it up in a heartbeat to hang with the Cullens for a while! When we were trying to change lanes at one point in Chicago, there was a car exactly like Carlisle's in the way and I said to my dad who was driving, "Don't switch lanes! Carlisle is back there!" He didn't get it.

I need some advice. This is seriously a ridiculous situation - but it is getting on.my.last.nerve.

OK. So, this may not seem like a big deal to anyone but me.... Because you don't know the people - but I'll try anyways.

So - some 'friends' (people that I met at work and occasionally get together with and went to the beach with - - - BTW that will never happen again) of ours are trying to buy the house across the street from us. I was the one that told them about it (like 3 days ago) and they completely jumped on it.

So, now I am regretting it because they are VERY immature and I just don't want them to live that close to me because I feel like it will be like 'Let's hang out ALL the time'

I can't really stand the husband, he's very demeaning and he is that person who has to be right all the time and is constantly 'putting people in their place' and his wife is OK. But, like I said they are very very childish.

I mean like 'Ugh, your sandwich has more turkey on it - give me a bite of yours!' Then the other one will say 'That bite was too big! Give me some of your soup!' They don't share an account - so I constantly have to hear them bicker about who 'owes' who money....

Seriously.... It's that bad.



And they are married.

So, I am just really regretting ever even telling them about it and I secretly am hoping that they won't get it.

I need some back up so I don't feel like a crappy person wishing unhappiness on them

This. You can totally come up with excuses. I've come to learn as a new parent (and this is probably something old hat to the rest of y'all ), but kids make awesome excuses when you don't want to do something.

And if you don't want to use the kids as excuses a good migraine excuse works in a pinch!

I'm still looking for some nice prints for the walls, but I may end up framing some great pics I took of the kids. I'd rather pay to enlarge those photos, rtaher than just buy something I'm not loving. And use them till I find the right painting or print.

I love pics of family on the walls rather than just random pics. I have pics of my kids in black and white in my living room- I'm not a photographer but they turned out pretty good IMO. It makes my home feel like home.

NC- Happy Birthday to your DD!

Jo- Sorry to hear about your DD's teacher. You could always just tell the other moms that you know she'll be out for medical reasons and wanted to do something nice. You don't have to share details unless one of them speaks up and says they already know too. I think it would be a nice gesture to do something for her. Praying everything goes well for her.

Rusafee- Good luck with that one! We had a friend of mine and her overbearing and annoying husband move in the next street over in our old townhouse neighborhood. It wasn't pretty. Her DH was a looney toon. We ended up moving shortly thereafter so it wasn't so bad.

Also - I think that his arrogance in this situation is really what is getting under my skin. *I* pointed this house out to them-they are using *my* real estate agent - they didn't even know what hand money or an FHA loan or anything was - and now I'm getting emails at work with a picture of a cake on it - saying that this process is a *cake walk* and that he doesn't even need a real estate agent and that he's going to 'tell the seller' when he's going to get out of 'his house'

Stuff like that just really gets to me. I hate people who are so pompous that they get a dose of something going their way and they feel the need to shove it in people's faces.

Ugh. I hope that they get outbid or something ... I saw people over there looking at it yesterday.

It's quite possible that even if there is another offer, the seller may take that offer JUST to not have to deal with a jerky buyer.
