Good morning MAYers!

:scared1: Oh no JO! Poor Belle. How was the rest of the night? Are you going to have to cancel your trip? I sure hope she feels better soon.

Hey Mari! Feel free to vent anytime. That's what we're here for! Glad everything is going good with school. I wish you were going to WDW again soon too. I don't have anyone to meet up with this time! :sad2: Maybe next year! :wizard:

Not much going on here today. Just cleaning cleaning cleaning. My Tastefully Simple party is Saturday.

I hope your party goes great!!!!

Is it only

16 DAYS!!!!!!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks NC! I have 8 people coming at least, maybe 10. And I have 4 outside orders. So hopefully I will come out ahead, but not sure because of all the stuff I had to buy for it! :upsidedow Let me know if anyone needs anything, it can be shipped directly to you!

I know, 16 DAYS!!!! :cool1::woohoo::cool1::woohoo:

DS10 seems to be more excited than DS8. Which is odd. I mean, of course DS8 is excited too, he just isn't talking about it as much as DS10. DS10 has said several times lately that he can't wait. :yay: He usually doesn't start saying that this early. He was talking about it on the way to soccer last night!!

Which reminds me. . . . This is so funny. Well maybe a bit disturbing, but funny. Remember our whole gay days convo yesterday? And the MK bus line story I told you? (keep in mind that hasn't been discussed around here for quite some time) Okay, well last night DS10 and I are coming home from soccer. It was completely dark by the time we left the field at 7:00. We are about 1/2 mile south of the soccer field and I am going maybe 40 in a 45 zone. All the sudden there are these 2 huge deer in the road. DS10 yells - HOLY CRAP! (Real nice, I know. But hey it could have been worse!) And I slam on the brakes and stop about 3 inches from them. They run away and we start to go again. I said - geez I wonder why they were just standing there? Usually the deer actually run out in front of you. These 2 were just standing there, right in my lane. DS says - maybe they were on a date!! :rotfl: He thinks that is hilarious. Then says - wait, no, they were both female deer. (I'm thinking, oh great here it comes - and sure enough it did) He then says - Hey, remember those 2 girls at Disney??? :lmao:

Oh my!

I have a REALLY fun day planned!!!! :sad2:

I am meeting with DS's Pre AP Algebra II teacher today (which is a very advanced class for a 9th grader.) Who is an absolute doll and as sweet as sugar.

My brilliant child, choose to do something really stupid.

He had a 95% average in the class. Was absent and missed a major test. Einstein decided NOT to make-up the test. I was sending him texts to remind him. His teacher was asking him to come by to make it up. And he just choose NOT to.

Her last conversation with him on Tuesday went like this:

Teacher: Why don't you come at X period (X stands for extra) today to make up your test?

Einstein: I can't I have to dress out for football.

Teacher: You know this will really hurt your grade. You will drop to a low B. You REALLY need to take this test.

Einstein: :confused3 and walks away.

ME MOM - when I hear about this from him as well as the teacher. Praise the Lord they both told the same story. I flipped out! :furious:

So needless to say, he is in huge trouble and has lost all privileges known to the modern teenager.

I now have to do the parental walk of shame and go conference with his sweet teacher who will be very kind to me, but how humbling....

Now, Einstein has an 82% for last nine weeks. Which by the way, is not a high enough average to allow him to continue in the advanced track if he averages this for the year.

Also, BTW, Monday started the new nine weeks. He had a test on Tuesday and he made a 100%....

So it is not lack of ability...

It would be so different if he worked his a$$ off and made a bad grade......

but not doing the work..... :headache:

egads.....

teenagers.... :headache:

or maybe it is just teenage boys..... :headache: :confused3

:lmao: Shelly - Queer Deers!

Hey everyone.

Belle is up, feeling much better than last night. SHe had her second dose of the Tamiflu this morning. So far so good. Her fever is way down, and she actually just came skipping thru the room with her Hess trucks in hand. (Yes- she may be a pink loving girly girl, but she loves her cars and trucks, LOL).

As of right now- we are playing the trip by ear. We are getting everything packed up and planning on driving to NC's part of the state late tonight, stay the night, sleep in in the morning and do the rest of the drive tomorrow. That way, she isn't in the car for an extended period of time tomorrow and if by chance she wakes up tomorrow and has taken a turn for the worse, we'll come on home. The game isn't until 7:30 Saturday night, so if she is still with fever, one of us will stay in the hotel with her that night.

Her Dr is a University of Oklahoma alum, and he looks like Denzel Washington. He is so dang funny- makes faces like Jim Carey and is just a hoot. We love to go see him, b/c we can talk football with him. ANyway- we told him we were supposed to be leaving today and he started whistling and looking up at the ceiling and scrunching his face up. He said "I can't say 'GO GATORS', but she's gonna' be all right to go." popcorn::

So now we wait it out.
Mark says she is a Game time decision. Our good friends texted Mark after he told them that and they came back with "ESPN has her listed as 'Probable'".
It made me giggle.:rotfl:

Shelly- I can't believe your DS would bust out with that. It's amazing what affects children.

NC----- I seriously can relate. MCat decided that for her pre Ap Biology- she would half a** it. So she got a high 'B'. So I'm fussing at her and she says "You mean you want me to get an 'A'? You said if I got a B in that class, it would be like getting an A in a regular class.":confused3 She got set to rights realllllllllllllllllllllllllly fast on that one.

Did you by chance get that book I was talking to everyone about? That Dr would say that in order to teach Chris responsibility, there would be no more football.
Yikes. Drastic.
His logic is that since He didn't do the 'A' part (not taking the test after being told over and over again to take it-- which you're only supposed to tell them once, according to the dr-) so the 'B' (playing football or a sport, essentially- anything that is a reward) would be forfeited. ANd he'd take the hard hit of the B grade, without any interference from a parent.
And no matter how many times he says sorry or I won't do it again, you don't back down.

It's really a hard concept for me. I just want to bail them out over and over again, go to bat for them, but he says to teach them how to be responsible and know that what you say is what you mean, you have to be tough and not give in.

It's a work in progress for me- but I swear I have learned a ton form this one book.
Hope the conference and fall out from all of this is smoothed over very quickly.

Okay- off to finish up packing.

Mari-------------- hugs--- think each day as "This one thing (test, assignment, lab, etc) is getting me one step closer to my goal."
It is tough. I know exactly all you are going thru. once you get into the nitty gritty of the nursing courses- it won't get easier, but it will be more fun.
(well, sometimes...:headache:)
That is until you hit Pharmacology and you stand before your instructor before you dose your patient and have to say- without any notes-- what the drug is, the classification, the dosage amount, how it's metabolized in the body, what systems it can affect, what the side effects are and why the drug is being given to this patient--- for thirty or so meds......... ahhhhh. Honey, I feel your pain. I certainly do.
But you may do better than me in Pharm. No one told me how awful it would be. I hated it and trudged thru it. Sounds like you are doing very well right now though, so keep it up.:wizard:

Now I leave. I'll try to check in when I can.

Ya'll have a great day and weekend.
:cloud9:

Jo

Hey Jo - Glad to hear that Belle is feeling better.

NC - Teenage boys - don't get me started. Now you know why I have gray hair.

Mari - Wow - lots of work and studying - you are going to do great! Hugs!

KB - Hey! Hugz to you too!

Lake - How is it going eh?

Shelly - November is almost here!

Sea- I just have to say how jealous I am that you live so close to a Disney park :sad2:

Shelly- love the deer story :lmao: Glad you didn't hit em though! My DS is still at the stage of wanting to know how babies get out of their mommies bellies :rolleyes1

NC- Your teenage boy story scares me. I'm glad I'm still about 10 years from having to face that challenge.

Jo- I checked my library and they just got it in- I'm the next on the list for it! :woohoo: I figure if I can get a grip on them now at 5 and 2 maybe those teen years won't be such a challenge :wizard: wishful thinking I know. Glad DD is feeling better and playing with her Hess trucks. My DD is the same and likes to copycat her big brother so she plays more with the blocks and trucks than her dolls. Crossing my fingers she's *probable* :lmao:

Hope everyone has a great afternoon!

That sure was a close one! I hurt every muscle in my body slamming on the brakes so hard.

Good luck explaining where babies come from to a 5 year old! :rotfl:

When my mom told my little sister about that, my brother and I schemed and put one of her dolls (naked, of course) in her bed that night while she was sleeping. The next morning she proudly told us she "had a baby!" :rotfl:
