Happy Thanksgiving Lake - Mmmmmm gravy!!!! LOL!!

A good morning prayer goes out to all our mayer friends in need today.

It's pouring rain here today..and I wish it would stop. The kids have a walkathon at school today, and on top of that its a long weekend for us...Go AWAY rain. Although they said if the temperature drops anymore, it could even turn to snow. NO...not yet. I love winter and snow and all... but it's only early October!


Today is the start of one of my favorite holiday weekends... I love fall. ( Not cold like this... more the indian summer type fall.)
But I love the colours of the trees, and taking a walk with a sweater wrapped around me, and the crisp smell in the air.
This weekend is our thanksgiving. So Happy Turkey Day! Gobble Gobble.
Looking forward to a yummy dinner at my MIL's, and so much to be thakful for.

To top off a great three day weekend, the Steelers play the Lions on Sunday, in Detroit. So the 4 of us will be sporting our black and gold, and probably will be making the local Lions fans ( including Jason's step-father, and step-brothers) a little unhappy with us...

Happy Friday! This week has been wild and I am seriously having DIS withdrawal. All these sick kids are giving me a run for my money!

As far as DS's school stuff goes, I meant to call the pediatrician to see about getting a note today but the time slipped away and I didn't get a chance. I'm calling Monday. As long as I can keep him healthy until the 30th (end of 1st marking period) he's safe. But what really worries me is Disney! He will miss 4 days for our trip. I have to find out the rules on that one ASAP. This is all weird to me because I taught in the next county over and I assumed that they had the same attendance policies. (Well you know what happens when you assume things, right? ) In my old county, a simple note from the parents saying that little Johnny was ill was sufficient to make it an excused absence. Apparently that doesn't cut it here.

I'm not sure who Malik or Debbie are but my prayers are definitely with them. My brother in law has a little boy in his family that has been battling cancer for almost 3 years now. He's 13. He's had a triple organ transplant, endless rounds of chemo and radiation, and they just found out that it's back full force. They said it will be a miracle if he makes it to Thanksgiving. I will never wrap my brain around it. Losing my children or watching them suffer through something like that is my biggest fear. And now with hearing about all of these deaths related to the H1N1 flu...scary.

Happy Saturday MAYers! 4 weeks and we will be on our way. Well actually 4 weeks from right now and we will still be right here. Stupid afternoon flight.

Hope all is well and everyone who was sick is feeling better. I'm feeling better, still a little yucky though. Hoping it warms up before I have to sit outside all day tomorrow for soccer games. Luckily DS10's game is a home game.
