To keep water nice and cold in the heat, I know we can get cups of ice water at different spots in the park so we could just refill our thermos I just do not see much talk about taking them as opposed to a refillable water bottle. We will have a stroller so carrying them is not a problem.

***** I should have put this on the Disney Tips board if someone could move it that would be great*****

That is exactly what we used for the boys both years. The thermoses(?) fit great in cup holders and in the backpack drink holders. They also kept drinks COLD for 3-4 hours. (We were there in July and August).

I'd recommend it hands down!

For a summer trip I recommend them! Just don't bring a filled one on an airplane, once you get in the air and flip open the lid- the drink shoots out like a fountain! Yes, once DH opened one and it sprayed a guy behind him that was sound asleep! :scared1:

Just be careful with them. My son dropped his once and the plastic part cracked and now it leaks :( I prefer Siggs since they don't have plastic on the actual bottle.

The old Siggs have BPA in the liner though. I was so disappointed to learn that. :-( The newer ones were having trouble with the lining chipping off... so I gave up Siggs for BPA free CamelBaks.

We love the thermos funtainers! We always take them. They are great at keeping drinks cold in the heat. We also take the funtainer food containers with apple slices and grapes in them. Very refreshing on a hot day!

Just got back from th World a few days ago. Used a funtainer at all 4 Diz parls (did not do Epcot) and SeaWorld and Aquatica.

We used to use the FunTainers but changed to BPA free Polar Insulated water bottles after my kids cracked their Funtainers by dropping them! The Polar bottles works so much better!! You can even fill it up 1/3 of the way and freeze them if you want before filling them with water, plus they hold more water then the FunTainers.
I got mine on amazon and ogt a different color for each member of the family! We have had them for 4 years and they have held up wonderfully...taking all the abuse my kids can dish out and my 4y.o. uses his every day and has been for the past 22 years!

Polar Bottle is the original insulated plastic sport bottle and has been keeping liquids colder, longer, since 1994. The bottle has evolved in the years since with brightly colored foil liners and patterns and an innovative removable valve system. Made in America, Polar Bottle is popular throughout the world.

Combining the thermal properties of an insulated vacuum bottle with the lightweight, flexible features of a plastic bottle, Polar Bottle's insulated water bottle is the ideal choice for active people. Simply fill with liquid and ice and hit the trail. For even longer cooling power, fill your insulated bottle and store it in the freezer before use. Either way, it will keep liquids cold twice as long as conventional water bottles.

Insulated Technology
The double-wall construction of our insulated water bottles creates a thermal barrier of air to keep heat out and cold in. Foil layers reflect solar rays for additional thermal protection.

Polar Bottle has never used BPA in any water bottles. Even the first Polar Bottles in 1994 were BPA-free.

:goodvibes OHH Im going to check out the Polar Insulated water bottles NOW!! Thank you for that tip!!

I have bought Funtainers at the start of the last 2 summers for our trips to the park and hiking ect and they have all cracked at the bottom I actually thought it was just my kids being careless with them I didnt buy them yet this summer as I was waiting for WDW to pack new ones in their Trip Bags.

I like cold water the thought of drinking warm water out of a reusable water bottle or even a steel one makes my stomach ache.

The Polar Bottles are cheaper than the Thermos also!! :cool1: Ill be ordering 6 of them wooo hooo... Are there any leaking issues with these? Im ordering different colors for each of my kiddies in the 20oz.

We haven't had any leaking issues other than an occasion drip or 2 if the lid wasn't on tight enough. :goodvibes And my 2 boys are very hard theirs, my little guy calls his his "bot". We take ours with us everywhere we go, as staying hydrated is always important, but especially during the hot weather and at WDW. I clean them once a week(or more if they've gotten dirty or been used heavily) with soapy water or in the dishwasher and bleach them once per month or if my kid gets sick. It's great that every one has their own color so we don't pass germs around! We keep our filled up in the fridge ready to go.

We have a BPA-free one. But my son doesn't use it any more. He has a Camelbak, as do I. I just wish they had small Camelbaks that were insulated.
