There's something wrong with this

I'm using a bottle of Suave shampoo that I bought on clearance at Target for 87 cents. My DD is using Aussie shampoo that cost about $3.00. :confused3 Think we spoil our kids too much? :rolleyes1

DD had a digital camera a year before us. (She was 18 and did buy it with her own money though.)

But I know what you mean.

That's okay. I just bought $25 worth of bones for my dog to chew on, but all of my socks have holes in them (including the pair I'm wearing). In my defence, chewing on the bones keeps her out of trouble, and they'll last her over a month...

omg - my dog needs an intervention! She needs a bone EVERY night!

$25 worth of bones (2 bags of the kind I buy) would last like a2 weeks in my house!

Yep, I am walking around with Costco brand sneakers and Ds has $50 Nikes.

I ration them out, two a night (they're the little pig twist sticks, they don't last long!).

Yep, I'm in the club.I'll occasionally splurge for DD and DS at Gymboree. I buy off the clearance racks at Hechts and Kohls for me...

:rotfl: It is so true. My pets eat better than everyone in my house. I'll be eating a PB&J for lunch while my dog is eating a $1.50 can of dog food.

Oh yeah. You couldn't cram another article of clothing into my kids closets but mine looks like I was robbed! Empty, save for a few items I wear over and over. Go figure.

I guess it's just more fun for me to shop for them. They look cute in just about anything. Can't say nearly the same for myself.

Same here Big V. I use the Herbal Essence and my 12 yo dd is using John Frieda :confused3

I finally bought myself new jeans for $15 on clearance from Old Navy, my daughter is wearing $30 Roxy jeans today.

mommaU4 - our closet situation is the same as yours! I would much rather shop for her!

I think of it this way... My mom always sacrificed for us and now I sacrafice for my kids. I think it's kind of natural; you'll go hungry before you let your kids go hungry.

Did you know that Aussie shampoo is from Australia. The manufacturing process goes a little like this..

1) Buy a bottle of cheap shampoo (Suave)
2) Pour contents into big purple plastic bottle with cute kangaroos on it.
3) Box up and ship to America.
4) Receive 200% return on initial investment

I have an iRiver MP3 player ($75 off of ebay) DS 9 has an Ipod nano. $200. He did use his own money too.

Not spoiling the kids. It is the cycle of social life. We lived our "in" days, now we can use the 87 cent shampoo, and who is going to care? Your DD? She needs to use what all the girls are using, or face social slaughter.

BTW, $.87 is expensive for Suave clearance! :rotfl2: I have gotten Suave on sale at Shaws for 25 cents!
