There's no place like "home" for the holidays...*updated 3/18 p. 43 and 44*

Oh that is an awesome pic! Isn't it great to skip down memory lane!

Thanks! I love looking at all our old pictures. :goodvibes

hey joining in a little late but better late then never! great TR so far, im really jealous that you're going in December its so perfect in Disney around Christmas time. I already asked my boyfriend if we can go back next Christmas after our trip in April and stay for a few days haha I love all the pictures from when you were little I love looking at our old ones too. Your top 10 list is really good too I'm going to have to steal that I think because there are some things on there that are definitely must do's for us too. Those pins are cool, I have been thinking about getting some but all the ones I have seen are like $6 for a cheap pin. I just feel like thats a lot to spend on a pin for my current financial situation  And trust me I can feel your pain with trying to find a job. I just graduated from Stony Brook University and have had ZERO luck finding a full time job! Good luck finding something though!

Hi! :welcome: to my PTR! Disney World around Christmas is so awesome...hopefully you can convince your boyfriend to go next year! Ugh I hate not having a full-time job! Good luck to you too. :)

Glad the middle schoolers didn't give you too much trouble! ;) I loved that photo of Dreamfinder and Figment! :cloud9: I have an mp3 of the old song and listen to it sometimes, it brings back memories.

Congrats on being 90 days out!! :woohoo:

haha, I know, usually they seem to be a little crazier than the younger kids. That's cool you have an mp3 of the old song. I was looking on youtube and found a video of the old version of the ride. It was so awesome, I was like I remember that part! haha

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks. And thanks for BOOing me. :)

I'm glad that your subbing went well today. And I love how you're posting old pictures. :goodvibes

You're welcome. :teeth:

Our old pictures are so funny. We've got some good ones (like when a certain someone would be pouting :rotfl: ). :goodvibes

Your pins are great!!! :goodvibes
Funny how hard it is to think of trading them! :lmao:
I think I am getting too into the pin collecting. ;)

Love the all pictures!

Congrats on 90 Days!!! :cool1:

Welcome Claire!

Yeah, keep me posted if you hear anything! I don't get why they don't release the dates until November. :scratchin

BTW, I see you have a High School Musical banner in your signature...I love that movie! In fact my sisters and I watched it last night.

I read a thread the other day and the MMM are definately on Thursdays this year :woohoo: - they weren't sure about Christmas day.

And yeah - love HSM, I have the Wii sing along game :goodvibes not that I can sing :rotfl:
I can't wait for the third movie though, we're gonna book tickets to see it in on the 24th Oct (there are previews on the 22nd and 23rd, but I've got work  ), they have screenings as late as 10pm :scared1: so there must be a few adults (other than me) who like it :yay:
I wish I was younger and could do the dances with my friends :dance3:
'Together, together, together everyone!'

I love your pins, they're excellent and definately keepers ;) hope you find some more tradable ones!

Oh yeah, hi Claire :wave2:

Good to see everyone is getting in on the Dis fun :lmao: - you should be warned tho ........ it's addictive ;)

Thanks! Yeah, I really don't know what I was thinking about trading them. I am too greedy for that. LOL. I am way too into the collecting too.

Glad you like the pics. :)

Ohhh cool! I'll definitely have to keep that in mind, though if they're Thursdays we are going to MVMCP on the Thursday when we're there. So if we did end up going to the DVC thing it'd only be for a little bit. We'll see!

I can't wait for the 3rd movie either...I have already downloaded 2 songs from the new soundtrack on iTunes. I guess every other week or so they're going to put a new one up leading up to the official release of the soundtrack. And my sister saw in the paper the other day that they are already selling tickets for the movie!  Oh yes, and the dances are awesome. :thumbsup2

OK so I have officially (well...not really officially) decided that I will be going to Disney World for my next birthday. I saw on here the theme for 2009 after the YOAMD is over. It says you can get FREE THEME PARK ADMISSION ON YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!! This could work well seeing as my birthday is March 12, Dad's is March 14, and Emma's is March 15. :rotfl: It'll save us each a day on our park tickets. :)

Here's the link if you're interested...

89 days! (sorry, I felt I had to say something trip-related after that!)

Wow that sounds awesome about the birthday present from Disney. Perhaps we will go in May afterall.... if only for a day! Then in June as well! :rotfl:
I think it sounds good let's see if I can sell Aaron on the Birthday FastPass thing!
Congrats on 89 days!

Hey we are gong to be in the world at the same time. Thats so exciting :)

I started a pre trip report to I am so excited.!!!!!!!!!!

I know, doesn't it?! Though I totally misread it, I thought you got free admission, the birthday fun card AND birthday fastpass. I should have known better that Disney wouldn't give you all those things. It's still pretty awesome though. I'd love to go to WDW for my birthday sometime.

Sounds like a great deal to me! :woohoo: How lucky your family's birthday's are so close together, that works out perfect for a 2009 trip! :thumbsup2

LOVE the flashback pictures!! I'm dating myself but many of mine are on disc film and I need to find somewhere that will transfer those to digital images. I will google that as soon as I'm done here!

I can't say I'm into pin trading but you tempt me... they are all cute but some of them are especially so!

OK, as promised here are the pins that I got! They arrived safely all wrapped in bubble wrap and on a piece of craft foam.

Some close-ups. The lot had a nice variety I think.

100_3045.jpg

I also bought a couple extras...I love the parking lot ones. For some reason they just remind me even more of Disney World. :goodvibes
100_3041.jpg

So, just as I figured, I am probably not even going to end up trading any of these. I don't think I can bear to give any away! Though I will trade the Mickey dollar one, but that's only because I already have it (unless one of my sisters wants it)! I think that's the way to go with pin trading for me...just get doubles of the same pin so there's no reason to keep them. hehe :teeth:

I think I got a great deal from this seller. The grand total for 12 pins was just over $30. Just think how much 12 pins would cost at WDW.
They look great! I want the monorail one!!!!!

Yay for being UNDER 90 days now!!!! Your trip will be here before you know it! Love the picture of you and your sisters. I don't think I ever rode that version of the ride with dream finder.

Ohhh by the way I love your pins! I don't think I could ever trade any either. Those are so cute! That's the problem I have I always get such cute pins and never want to trade them. :lmao:

Hope you have a great weekend!

Ohhhh the version with Dreamfinder was so much better. And the Imageworks was cooler too. So sad they had to change it. But atleast they brought Figment back!

Thank you! I tend to have that problem too...whenever I buy pins at WDW I tend to go for the "cute" ones and could never get rid of them!

I think I may be in the minority, but I love this new "Celebrations" theme for 2009. I saw on here that they are having a "What Will You Celebrate?" tour starting this week that's going to a bunch of different cities and they are coming to Milwaukee on October 1st! The only thing is I then went to the official Disney site to see if they had more information and they don't. So I have no idea where it will be or what time. :confused3 But it might be interesting to go. Gotta get a little bit of Disney magic, you know. ;) :teeth:

Oh yes, and there was a preview of the TV commercial as well and let me say it is soooo adorable. You can find it here So sweet! :goodvibes

Here's the official site for the tour! Man, I love the theme song and the logo. AHH I need a reason to celebrate in 2009...:teeth:

I just found this thread and I'm completely hooked! I love your PTR so far. The pins are so cute and by the way, I'll be there in December too the week before you.

I can't wait either and Christmas at WDW is Amazing. We were there Dec. 2006 and I knew I had to go back again the same time of year.

Can't wait for more.

Hi again everyone! We've reached 90 days !!! I subbed again today at the middle school I went to...I had a great day actually. The kids were pretty awesome. Though I think it helped that it was a late start for them and the classes were only 35 minutes long!

Since we're at 90 days, it's time for another flashback. Get excited. hehe

I love this picture. Remember the good old days with the original Journey Into Imagination? Man do we miss that version. :sad2: On one of our trips we got to meet Dreamfinder and Figment!

And of course, we got them to sign our autograph books. :goodvibes

Hope everyone's having a great day!

I love Figment, and I absolutely used to love the original ride. I still go on the new one a number of times, on each trip, but nothing beats the original. I can still remember making my family wait to leave Epcot one night so I could buy a huge stuffed Figment that I had saved all of my allowance for! I still have him. He actually sits on my dresser in our bedroom! It's unfortunate that they don't promote him more. Kids and imagination are such a big part of WDW that you would think they would market Figment better.

Isn't it cool to be so close to leaving? I'm glad that subbing is working out well for you. I can't wait to find out when you get a permanent somewhere.

I agree about the commerical and the song. Now, how do I convince my DH to return?

Hi! Thanks for stopping in and I'm glad you are enjoying my PTR! I am enjoying your PTR too. :) December has to be one of the best times to visit Disney. :goodvibes

Thanks! I think I am going to stick to just buying the pins though because I don't think I could possibly trade any of the ones I got. :rotfl:

I definitely agree...the original is by far the best version. That is too funny about the big Figment you got.

It is exciting that we're going to be there so soon even though sometimes it feels like it'll never get here! I called my sister yesterday and something brought up WDW so we started talking about things we want to do and also stories from our past trips. :goodvibes

Well...unfortunately after this trip I don't think we'll be going for our birthdays, but it was fun to think about. LOL. But another trip some time next year MUST happen. I'm thinking a trip to Disneyland since Claire has never been there before and it's been a couple years since we were last there...haha You're welcome for the links. :teeth:

I cannot wait to see that commercial on TV...it's supposedly going to start airing this week!
