So I posted this update last night but it seems it didn't take for some reason, so I get to do it again!
I had been wanting to try Artist Point for awhile now, but The Wilderness Lodge was a little out of our way in the past. This year we had driven to WDW, so it made it easier to try places at some of the resorts. So I talked him into going this trip, and we were not disappointed.
We were one of the first reservations of the night. When we got there they weren't even open yet, but we had a nice conversation with another fellow waiting, who was also from Texas and disliked the same route that we took to Florida. It didn't take long for us to get seated, and our hostess was also our waitress. She was very nice and we had good service the entire meal. We were seated all the way in back of the dinning room.
Smokey Portobello Soup
with Roasted Shiitakes, Chive Oil, and Sourdough Croutons 10.00
One of use had to get the mushroom soup, I mean I read all about it on every Artist Point review on here! Since Chuck wanted to, and doesn't normally show excitement in anything other than steak, I let him have it.

But not without me tasting it! And it was everything I'd heard about and dreamed of!
Confit Natural Bacon
Sunny-side Up Quail Egg, Chow Mein Noodles, and Blood Orange Glaze 12.00
Since I had been planing on the mushroom soup, but wanted to make sure Chuck and I tried different things, I had to figure something else out. I went with the confit and it was the right choice. This was amazing! It was so tender. I would definitely get this again.
Slow-roasted 64° Buffalo Strip Steak
Foraged Mushroom-Fingerling Potato Hash and Rainier Cherry Reduction 43.00
Instead of regular steak, Chuck decided to try buffalo! He said it was good. Not bad, but nothing to right home about. But the potatoes were delicious.
Wild Columbia River Cedar Plank-roasted King Salmon
Rainbow Cauliflower, Root Spinach, Lemon-Butter Sauce, Applewood-smoked Bacon Jam, and Short Rib Strudel 39.00
I love salmon, so of course I had to get this. It was amazing. The salmon melted in my mouth, and was perfectly cooked. The brought it out still on the cedar plank too. I even enjoyed the cauliflower, which I normally cannot stand.
I also got this wine flight that was recommended with the salmon.
Vanilla Bean Créme Brûlée
with Chocolate-Hazelnut Biscotti 10.00
DH wasn't extremely happy with the dessert options, so he went with my usual standby creme brulee. He really enjoyed it though.
Artist Point Cobbler
with Seasonal Berries and House-made Black Raspberry ice Cream 11.00
[
Of course one of us had to get the cobbler. Since Chuck isn't a big berry person I opted to...plus I'd been looking forward to it. It was perfect. The cobbler was hot and ice cream wasn't melted at all yet when they brought it out. It had the perfect amount of berries on top. It was delightful. It was perfect.
So if you can't tell, we enjoyed Artist Point. I already want to go back. The service was great, and the meal didn't take as long as we thought. They may be in part because we were one of the first people there. It's for sure a repeat for us though.
