There's A Snake In My Boot!!!! PTR April 24th-May 1, 2010 (Trip Report Started!!)

YAY!! for 81 days!!!:yay:

We've done online check-in twice now and thought it was great both times!! There was absolutely no waiting...we got there, went up to the desk and everything was ready and waiting for us!!! I would definitely recommend it!:thumbsup2 We even added a few requests to our reservations because we were going with family and wanted our rooms close by. I was worried that we wouldn't get them but it was no problem. :)

Can you add requests on-line as you check-in Angie? We already have noted on our reservation that we would like connecting rooms with my parents (I know it's NOT a guarantee). We just booked standard at FQ, I don't think I am going to make any building requests, it seems most rooms are easy walking distance! Glad to know you had a great experience with it too!!!:thumbsup2

We did online check-in last year & it was great! We called ahead to note our request... we wanted to be near, but not connected with DH's brother. We would have been, if they hadn't requested a different room when they got there... :rolleyes1

Thanks Heather, pictures are so fun to look back at!! We celebrate our 10 year anniversary next year too! Not until August though, I would love another get-away to WDW and stay at Wilderness Lodge or Boardwalk Inn or the Polynesian! :lovestruc

Yay!! to 10 years next year! :thumbsup2 It will also be my 30th Bday in August...not too excited about that though! :confused3

I finally got to watch Housewives last night..thanks to DVR...DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!! But i think that is why we watch it!?! :lmao:

Yay for your 80 days left!! I am jealous...we have 149 days.....oh the waiting game! :scared1:

I too love to look at past pics! Maybe I should post some more...later today hopefully!

Oh...we did online check in as well last year...loved it, no wait to check in!

:woohoo: :woohoo: 80 days left to go!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Love the flashbacks and all the great photos you are sharing. Have not personally used the online check in so I cannot comment on my experience. From others, most say it is great. A few have said they have had issues with lines or not getting information correct (wrong dates, no dining option added, etc.) but those are minority.

POFQ, mind you it was 2005 when I stayed there so almost five years now, but the food court was great. Good options. If you want a great treat, the beignets are pretty good!

Glad on-line check-in was a great experience for you too Amy!! Now I can say in "70" days I can check-in!!!:cool1:

Don't worry Heather, those days tick by really fast!! I started my countdown ticker I think about a year ago!!:lmao: It will be so much fun to be there for the 4th of July, it's worth the wait!! Another "yes" for on-line check-in too!! That will be the way I go!!

Thanks Charlefours!! Glad to know the food court was good! I have heard about those yummy beignets, they will make a great treat for us!! Anything that's fried and has powder sugar on it has got to be good!!! Did you enjoy POFQ when you stayed there?? I think the pool will be fun for the kids! Gabe is a little apprehensive about the pool slide and I think someone said it was a shorter one so I hope he will be brave enough to try it!!

Hi Beth! If I remember right the only thing you can request is a pack-n-play and a refrigerator. I just called before hand and had it noted on our reservation like you did. I also called a week before we left and confirmed it.:)

Hi Beth! You're under 80 days! Yeah!!:cool1: I'm so excited for you! I got so excited just to see my ticker turn from 7 months down to 6!

Another August anniversary here - August 2011 will be our 10 year as well! Amazing how fast it goes. I've been sorta secretly planning a trip for DH and I to take on our 10 year anniversary. Only a sorta secret because I did once mention to him about doing something, we've never really discussed it in detail, but I've been doing a little research here and there for ideas. Thinking about a cruise, we did a cruise for our honeymoon so we'd love to do another another one, but probably a short 3-4 night since we'd have to arrange for family members to watch the kids all those days. We'll see - or MAYBE we can do a Disney cruise and bring the kids along! I guess we'll see how the trip this year goes and decide from there.

Have you made touing plans for your park days? Since you've been there before you probably know what rides to get to first and what you want to take the kids on and all...just curious if you were planning it out or going with the flow of the day?

We did like POFQ. It is a lovely resort--we had a second floor room in the North Quarter, Building 4. The rooms are a decent size in my opinion. The bathroom with the toilet and bath/shower are a little tight but that is made up with two sinks outside of the closed in area. The privacy curtain I think will be an added bonus this next go around so we can take turns or I can get up before the others without disturbing them.

The pool and grounds in general are nice. We did not go down the slide but there were kids who did and seemed to have a grand time going down it. You or DH could ride down with Gabe the first time or two to show him it is not so scary.

Thanks Angie! That's great to know, when I call can I call the resort directly or just the general number?? Thanks for all your help with this!:worship:

Hey Karen, what date is your anniversary?? Ours is the 11th! I would LOVE to do a cruise but my DH is afraid he'll get seasick. :sick:I keep telling him he needs to try just a short 3 day or something but he won't budge, grrrrr....

Yes, I have started my touring plans and I am going to try and post it today as long as Helen stays napping:) Our last 2 days we go with the flow more and hop a lot to hit some of our favorite things!

Yes, the double sinks are the best part!! We have 1.5 bathrooms here at home and all of us share the main bath upstairs and thankfully it has double sinks and we are happy to have that on vacation too! The privacy curtain is also great, I am usually the first one up and my goal is to be ready first so I can help the kids get dressed and breakfast while DH gets ready, for some reason it always seems like he takes longer than I do:lmao::confused3

Alllll righty then...
We have 6 day park hoppers for this trip so every full day we are there, we will be spending most of our time in the parks!!

DAY 1-(Sunday)-EPCOT!!!!!!!!
Epcot is probably the park we spend the most time in, my parents think this is the best theme park ever created.:thumbsup2
-The plan this day is to be at rope drop, I haven't decided if we are going to head straight to Soarin' with the masses or hit up Character Connection first. I hear such great stories from those who see the characters first and get some good quality time with NO WAITING!!!!

Our goals this day is to do the following attractions:
-Soarin' & Living With The Land
-Character Connection
-Seas with Nemo & Turtle Talk
-Journey Into Imagination
-Test Track
-Innoventions (hopefully the Waste Management trash activities are still there, Gabe is OBSESSED with trash trucks) & the Visa Meet & Greet
-Spaceship Earth
-Flower & Garden playgrounds, Butterfly House, and admiring the topiaries!!
-Lunch at Sunshine Seasons and back to POFQ for nap/rest around 1:30pm
-Depending on energy, back to Epcot for some of the World Showcase and possibly Illuminations, I don't want to push the kids too much the first full park day! If we stay back at the resort, we may hit up DTD this night and eat at either Earl of Sandwich or T-Rex!!

Any opinions on this??? I don't think we can do it all before 1:30pm, everything really depends on how both kids are doing, but you never know, they may both be really easy going at Disney!:upsidedow

Our anniversary is the 4th.
You should do a cruise! Your DH won't get seasick - he really won't. My DH has been seasick on other small boats (he got horribly sick on a ferry crossing the English Channel when he was younger) and he had no problems - you can't feel the boat move at all! The one time you could so slightly feel it was laying in bed at night, and it was the most gentle, slow rocking you can imagine, it actually lulled us to sleep, it was awesome. If he can handle fast, jerky, spinning Disney rides a cruise would be a breeze!

Thanks Angie! That's great to know, when I call can I call the resort directly or just the general number?? Thanks for all your help with this!:worship:

I've always just called the general number...really just to confirm that all my requests are there. I know you can fax a request a few days before you leave if you want. I never have but I have heard of other people doing so and they've had pretty good luck with it. :)

As far your plans go....they look great!!!

Epcot is our first park day too!! We love Epcot!!:lovestruc

Just a suggestion....but if you wanted to the Character Connection first, you could send someone to grab fastpasses for Soarin to ride later. (We want to do the Character Connections first this trip as well...I think we would be able to get a lot of great pictures that early!)

Last April, I ran for fastpasses to Soarin' and then met the boys at Test Track, we did the Seas with Nemo, Figment and then headed back to Soarin', did Living with the Land and then had lunch at Sunshine Seasons. (this was from 9am-12pm. But...with figuring in Character Meet and Greets, exploring Innoventions, and checking out the Flower and Garden Festival...this year we know we're going to need to figure in more time.

I think as far as heading back to Epcot that night or going to DTD....see how your kids are feeling. You don't want to do too much your first day...and trust me they will let you know!! (my boys always do!!:rotfl:)

I have no idea why he thinks he can't do it! He fishes with my dad in a small fishing boat and I know they have been out in some pretty choppy lakes! I think I would really like the feeling of being rocked to sleep:cloud9:

TOTALLY agree with you Angie, the last thing I want to do is make the kids overtired and cranky on the first day! I can easily see us hopping over to Epcot Monday after we do some of DHS too and of course spending time there on our last two days!

I think I may send Cory ahead to get Soarin' FP's. He's quick and likes a challenge:laughing:!! Good to know about just calling the general number about requests and/or faxing it in too!

Yup I sure do!!:rotfl:

Glad you think that the plans look good! I think for the kids the characters are definitely be at the top of any list!! We hit up Character Connection with Gabe back in 2007 and loved being able to see so many in one place, especially the "FAB 5"!!

hi! We will be there about the same time! We'll be there april 26-may 3. I'm subbying!! happy planning!

Welcome Keala!! That's awesome you will be there in April!! I will have to jump over to your PTR and read up on your plans!! Where will you be staying???

I think we are going to try to FINALLY make it to Character Connection this year. I always love to see everyone's pictures in their TRs.

Here are a few of Gabe there in 2007, I am sorry our camera was crappy, Gabe LOVED this and was all smiles but by the time the camera actually took the picture his smile was gone, it was "Year of a Million Dreams" attire:goodvibes
