Someone help me think up a name for this fairy...here's how he/she interfered....err...I mean HELPED me tonight!!
Took the family to see 'Finding Nemo'- LOVED IT- thought it was very sweet! Anyways, all the posts of that movie popcorn temptation went running through my head. I had all the excuses....I walked 3 miles this am (thanks Alex for the self-imposed challenge) I ate a nutritious breakfast- slimfasted for lunch and my once really tight pants were feeling nice and roomy- so I figured "Hey, a little popcorn for dinner won't hurt" But I have my boundaries - NO SODA for me!
I bought the extra large tub to share for the five of us and one large soda for the kids to split- yeah, yeah I know germs but it's easier to carry. I even made a pact with myself- just five handfuls. I was even good and let the kids get it half finished before I reached for my first handful. Just as I was reaching into the bucket which my 5 year old was holding- her folding chair began to fold in on her (funny this never happens to me) and she dropped the WHOLE bucket.....You'd think this would end it- NOPE- FREE REFILLS!!! So I made dh go get another refill. The kids were a little upset about dumping the popcorn so AGAIN I let them get their fill before I reach for my first handful- YUMMY it tasted so good and dh even sneaked in a squirt of butter on it (I never do that!). My 4 year old decided she should hold it because her sister had dropped it and her sister agreed (so sweet seeing them help each other). As I was going for my 2nd handful my dd reached in with both hands (uh, wait you need to hold the bucket with one hand sweetie) before I knew it it was UPSIDE DOWN on the floor.
I looked at dh, and he said he wasn't going back for a third refill- we'd look like pigs. And I couldn't tempt fate one more time. So some fairy is out there flying around keeping us from what we "THINK" we want rather than what's good for us. I was very pleased when I got home- because I weigh in tomorrow for my end of the month total. If I had had five handfuls it most likely would have turned into 10.
Bad popcorn, bad....Good butterfingers fairy, good!! Come on there's got to be a better name!!
