There's a First Time for Everything! A Christmas In November TR

Was that really all the busier the show was? Or was this pretty far before the start time? When we were there last January, there wasn't an empty seat in the whole place! They really packed us in there!

That's DD's little head in the candle flame!

This is adorable...I've always loved Gypsy and I didn't know she was even in the parade!

DD nabbed two of the balls at the end of the parade when they shot them out into the crowd. My sweet girl kept the green one and gave the other one to a little girl that didn't grab one in time.

I'm so relieved that her ninnies are covered!

I felt so bad for taking her in there. The instructor was great though. She came over to our table and told DD how pretty her picture was. That made her feel better and she got over it soon enough. I really didn't think she did that bad for a five year old, but she wanted hers to look like the grown ups. Sometimes she can't grasp the concept that her abilities are limited by her age.

I think she extremely well for being so young! That is a horribly difficult character to draw. Well, they're all hard for me seeing as I have NO artistic ability, but you know what I mean.

The very next shot looked like this.

And that was it. No more lights.

Do they do that often???

Substitute the words "spicy Marinara sauce" with "gag me black pepper sauce" and you have an accurate description.

This reminded me of the "Pepper" skit from SNL a while back. "It is like someone hit me over the head with a lead pipe and then dragged me into an establishment that only sells two things...pepper and a fan to blow that pepper around the room!"

Would we figure out a way to get back to Hollywood Studios without ruining all our other plans for the week? Decisions, decisions. What would we do?

I would have been so disappointed and angry at that point. I don't know how you moved on! You must have figured out a way to see them...but at what else's expense???

The parade looks like a blast, but how cruel to be denied the Osborne Lights AGAIN!!! I do hope you were able to make it back there before your trip was over.

I can't believe they closed it for a private party. I guess it didn't matter that we went to the repeat Christmas Party. I would have been fuming had we decided not to try the party again so we could see the Osborne Lights. They should have a sign when you enter the park that day.

So, in your parade pictures, the one with Little Bo Peep and the orange cone in the background. We were standing right beside that orange cone, but I can't see us. For a little bit we were standing in the back, then that family with the stroller invited Abby to sit next to thier DD on the street, so it looks like your picture was taken right before they invited her to sit there. Now, that was close. I will check my parade pictures when I am at home tonight for your DD and post. I clearly remember the group playing with the parachute before it started. Boy, we were so close.

I would have cried too!!! I am so glad to hear that the CM made an MR person feel the Disney Magic !! I am applying to be a chaperone for the handicapped on vactions like this !! Loving Disney the way I do will I hope add to their trip!!

Oh. Em. Gee. This dish is FABULOUS! Did you get the recipe? Care to share? I've been craving this something fierce!

Isn't is awesome! I was in heaven after the first bite. It had to have about 4,000 calories because it was just sooooo good.

The chef didn't have the recipe printed out. He gave me his card with his email address on it and told me that he would email it to me. I need to go dig out that card and request that recipe from him. I'll do that today. If/When I hear back from him, I will absolutley post the recipe for you!

Goodness, drawing Carl at AA would be frustrating!! My DD loves going there but I'm not sure she'd be thrilled with drawing him!

I share your pain about the Osborne lights. We went in January of 2008 and all the Christmas stuff was still up so I asked if the OL were. The CM told me yes but neglected to tell me that they didn't turn them on anymore.

I hope you can juggle your plans and see the lights!!

He was probably the hardest character she could have chosen. I was really hoping for Mickey's head. That seems pretty simple. DD wanted to go back and do it agian that night though. She was just that determined to get it right.

Other than that -- great update! Looks like your DD had such a fun time at the Block Party Bash. Except for the jerk who tried to stand in front of her. Unfortunately we ran into several jerks like that on our trip too. He was probably one of the ones who were reaching over my kids (and other kids) and pushing to get a free bag of cracker jacks at Casey's that Saturday.

We love the Great Movie Ride too!

We have been to Mama Melrose 2 times. The first time we really liked it. The second time was just okay. We'll probably go back sometime.

We did enjoy the parade. I loved that you got to participate. It was fun watching DD dance like that. That guy really was a jerk. Who stands in front of a kid in a wheelchair? Unbelievable! Sounds like you had the same luck. What is it with some people? I've always said that adults are much worse behaved than kids!

I'd never heard much about the movie ride. We were pleasantly surprised by it.

Hate the hear that on Mama Melrose. I was hoping DH just picked a bad dish. I really wanted to try it again. Maybe it was just an off night for you guys. I try to give a place another chance if it's not so good one time, hoping that it is just a fluke thing.

Great update! So sorry about the lights. I have never been at that time so never seen them lit, but always there during the application so I always catch them in varying levels of being put up. Hope you get there.
Why is it that some grown person always thinks it is OK to stand in front of a child (or short person)-and it is always a tall grown person! I mean, come on. They can easily stand behind and still see just fine. Shame on them!

I don't get people like that either. When I saw him standing in front of the kid in the wheelchair, I was just baffled. You couldn't possibly want to see the parade that bad. How rude. The boy's parents should have clipped the back of his heels with the wheelchair "by mistake"!

I don't know how I have missed your report, but I have found it now and I am loving it! I had to share with my hubby the picture of your poor sweetie after riding Dinosaur. He went on Dinosaur by himself in October and after seeing you daughter I am glad that we made that decision! Her comment about the mermaid made laugh. That sounds like something that would be said at my house! I am crossing my fingers that you made it back to see OL.

I thought of you yesterday. My DH's sister is in Disney with her family for the first time and she was telling me the rides she took her DD (4) on and the ones she didn't like. She said "that Dinosaur one". I yelled WHAT so loud I am sure I hurt her ears. I told her that I never listed that in any of our talks about what to ride!!! My poor Sydney girl got sooooo scared. My sil said she wasn't winning any mom of the year awards after that one. Ya think??

Mama Melrose - we ate there in Jan 2009 and enjoyed it. I had the Penne alla vodka. Very good. It was super busy, so I understand how a bunch of people have had issues with service, but we didn't. Too bad about your DH's meal.

The mermaid statue comment from your DD - TOO FUNNY!!!! If I remember right, it has a sign by it that says it has to do with the movie Splash.

What was with the rude parade guy?? I swear, I have really started to call people out on their oblivious rudeness. I try to be polite, but boy, I guess you must be pretty self-centered to think it's okay to stand in front of kids and people in wheelchairs to see a parade! I bet he just didn't think anything of it. GRRR!!!

Hi there! Are you ready for all the snow??? They are now saying we will get a foot I REALLY want to believe them but I know how it can be around here so we'll see.

It snowed all night here and is still snowing! I could "hear" it coming down for about an hour though. That's not good since snow is silent! I guess it changed over to sleet for a bit. I'll take some pictures when it stops. So what did you end up getting? A foot is a lot!

Oh my gosh! I laughed so hard over that. You have no idea how accurate that scene was to what we experienced! And it was even an Italian place that looked a lot like Mama Melrose! Yes, there was pepper blowing around all up in that place!! Hilarious!!!

If you like a cream sauce pasta, then that dish is the ticket. It ROCKED! And I'm with you on the Tiramisu. That is my favorite dessert of all time. Combine chocolate with coffee and I am very happy! I didn't order any there though since we paid oop. If I had been on the dining plan, that would have been my choice for sure!

Same here! My kids have already been outside. We don't really have the gear to stay outside for a long time since we don't get much snow around here. We have no waterproof gloves or boots! So, they go out for a little while, come in to warm up, and then will want to go out again. I think we have about 4 inches right now, but it's supposed to snow all day. It looks pretty. I just wish it would snow today and then be 80 by Monday so it would all melt!

I don't think I realized you had a PTR going-I'll have to hop over there, too.

We drove to Baltimore yesterday. Yes, a one day trip! We left at 6:30 a.m., ate lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, visited the aquarium, and left at 5:30 p.m. We made it home around 10-before the snow started! We had a great time!

I am wondering what the visit to NeverLand will be....

Ok, all you Northerners who are reading along, just close your eyes for a moment! Give us Southerners a brief minute to relish in our snowfall! I know you get it all the time so it's no big deal, but it is a huge deal here. These are some pictures of what we've gotten so far. It is still coming down hard. We could only stay out for about 15 minutes because it was BITTER cold! But we had fun anyway!Except for our Chihuahua that is, she is NOT happy!
